Branston Pickle 3,598 Posted April 4, 2015 Interesting comments from a couple of random people - Terry Butcher at the Ippo/Cherries match reckoned it will be us and Cherries going up; Justin Edinburgh on FLS went for us and Middlesbrough. It means little if we don''t continue our good form, but shows how well we''ve been doing; we now need to very much guard against complacency

It could easily come down to goal difference, which is likely to favour us against all but Bournemouth. But, looking at the fixtures, if we go into the last two games in the top two then we should stay there. One noticeable feature of our recent run has been how we have beaten teams in otherwise good form or about to start doing well.. Charlton have won seven since losing to us, and Wolves six. Both Watford and Forest were in excellent form until we beat them. Less true of the wins against Ipswich and Brighton. 93vintage 16 Posted April 4, 2015 I still don''t think we''ll finish in the top two. We''re on the crest of a wave at the moment, unbeaten in five while Watford, Middlesbrough and Bournemouth have all suffered recent defeats. Middlesbrough and Bournemouth have wobbled a bit more than Watford so I think they''re more likely to power on and stay unbeaten for their remaining fixtures. One loss could spell the end of our automatic promotion hopes. We looked shaky in defence at times yesterday so I''m hoping Alex Neil tightens things up in order to remain unbeaten. Two wins and two draws from the next four is a minimum. But it''s a massive task with 4 games in 11 days and the final 3 of those within 6 days.
SeniorCanary 0 Posted April 5, 2015 All the comments about how hard it''s going to be....it''s the same for everyone, but how many of the teams we have left to play have premier league experience? How many have the depth of squad that we have? How many have anything left to play for?6 wins and at some point Bournemouth will drop points...

Of course we are sometimes going to look shaky in defence. Everybody at this level does to a greater or lesser extent. Everybody makes mistakes. That is how goals are scored. Apart from the odd unstoppable, all goals have some element of a defensive mistake in them. Our winner against Brighton did.But in contrast to Adams, under whom we were conceding 1.2 goals per game, Neil has reduced that to 0.87 goals per game, and without making us toothless in attack.
