Yes. Having seen him in both games, Bentley is better with his twists and turns on the ball, but Marney can tackle, cross, shoot and defend - his all round game is much better. Also, he is much more consistent in his performance.

As to who is the better player right here and now? Bentley, by a huge margin. So far Marney has started much like Bentley did this time last season. He shows the occasional flash of quality - he hit the post from a free kick tonight. But then becomes totally anonymous, and for long spells you''d hardly notice he was playing at all.As we saw with Bentley last season, inconsistency (both during games, and match to match) is the price of bringing in an inexperienced young player. Bentley in the end proved his worth, but it took a hell of a long time to materialise. Against considerably more inferior defences than in the Premiership, Marney should be able to make his presence felt sooner. But in truth, it''s too early to tell.

Bentley played agaist premier defences ,Marney is playing against championship defences, so on that basis you really can''t judge who is better I.M.O.

Well said pyro - we simply cannot judge him on just two incomplete performances.  There are touches of class, pretty much as we saw from Bentely, but Bentley was having that impact against premier teams not lower half championship sides.

I am sure he will be a key player for us this year and more than anything what stands him apart from Bntley is his willingness to tackle - but several city players could learn that from him too...
