Only your 15th???? Well Done! (yawn)
You must remind me who claimed he had seen every game this season and in the same post deriding those who do not attend on a regular basis in an effort to make his point more valid than anyone else.
Rather contributing sarcastic meaningless drivel to this thread why not put your case?I''m sure having read your posts they will be articulate, well considered and suitably evidenced...............

  2. Not one for stats BUT Martin has made 0.8 successful tackles a game this season........I guess that shows how good a defender he has been.I''m not sure the stats have been updated since yesterdays game but i would suggest from what I saw this figure is only going in one direction....and its not up!Watch the footage of yesterdays goal, the missed header in midfield, the covering back and then putting a weak challenge in before letting his winger comfortably put a cross in.  3 mistakes in one attack = GOAL ROTHERHAM

  3. Only your 15th???? Well Done! (yawn)Best Defender this season has without doubt been Seb Bassong closely followed by Olsson.AND before we talk about how many games Seb has played - He has done more in the 15-20 games he has played than Russell Martin has all season.Russell is starting to remind me of Andy Hughes/Lee Croft and the love in Norwich fans had with these very average players. We need better We deserve better UNLESS you want to settle for mediocrity.

  4. So the quality of responses continues to astound!Previously because I didn''t have many posts my views on Martin were rubbish but now because my ''view'' is from the Jarrold it counts as nothing. It is easy to spot those that don''t go regularly to games on here......I have seen every game this season and Russell Martin has nowhere near been OUR best defender, whether it be right back or centre half, so how he can be considered the best in the division is ludicrous. The facts are simple - If he had done his job properly yesterday and not defended like a pussy we would have won and been in the top two!Hard Cold Facts - Difficult for those in green/yellow tinted glasses with I Heart Russell Martin tattooed on their arse cheeks!

  5. And here we sit again, post match, considering why we dropped points. It is easy to point the finger at Lewis Grabban BUT unfortunately AGAIN our ''Captain Nice Guy'' is at fault for the goal conceded!Just watch how easily the player walks past RM and is allowed to get a cross in - due to a half hearted attempt to block by RM.Rubbish Rubbish Rubbish - Tear up that three year contract and send him to Colchester - His correct level. We will go nowhere with him at centre back!

  6.
It''s not a valid question unless his contract states "I will be first choice centre back."  Do you know that it does?  What''s that?  No, you don''t?  Well, shut up then.
Oh dear Bor(ing) Bor(ing) Bor(ing) does the big bad man VFTJ no agree with you??? Why don''t you scweam and scweam and scweam and stamp your feet and cwy and shout at the big nasty poster...SHUT UP THEN! Get a life you loser!I never have said that his contract states he will be first choice, I simply ask the questions Will you be happy if he is? - He might be or He might not be BUT I would suggest that a 3 year contract, which is more than likely to be with improved conditions, would lend to the fact that he would be!We are, and should be planning to play in the EPL next season, and if that is the case RM would not be in my team and without doubt he would not be my captain. This ''He''s a good guy attitude'' is the sort of attitude that gave Lee Croft player of the season one year and allowed Darryl Sutch to player 200 too many games for us.  We need winners and leaders everytime over nice guys!Bor(ing) Bor(ing Bor(ing) I would suggest your internet time is over for the day and you should get your ovaltine and head to bed...Its a big term next term it will be time for your 11plus exams!!

  7. A response is needed!

Firstly as previously quantified I never have and never want to be the England manager - But then I don''t need to to express an opinion on team selection/players ability the last time I checked...........Its what football fans do!

Secondly I am not a troll, I do not live under a bridge, although I do have a bit of a bulbous nose!

Thirdly there appears to be a bit of a misconception here that your opinion is judged on how many posts you have made....those with less posts ''must'' be a troll and therefore their opinion is worthless whereas if you are a sad spotty delinquent 15 year old who spends all day on the internet looking at porn and ''The Pink un'' posting 3,123 times, your opinion is much more worthwhile.......Interesting!

    Now onto Russell Martin.

I fail to see the big love in for our ''Captain''.  I am not judging him on seasons past, whether he is an ''absolute gent'' or whether he ''bleeds yellow & green'' - I am judging him on whether he can do a First Team Captains Job in the Premier League and the evidence this year suggests not.

Too often he is found wanting, out of position and failing to win that first ball, that first header that needs to be won so that our midfield grafters can win that second ball and begin to build our next attack.  His tackling is bordering on laughable as he runs alongside his man until he reaches close the danger area then places a last ditch challenge in which ''looks'' great BUT an earlier tackle would have been a better choice.  In addition to that he has a frustrating knack of ''pointing'' and not acting.  A number of times this season he has been caught out and rather than tryinbg to rectify his mistakes he points and suggests the mistake is not his own.....most recently Huddersfield (And Gibraltar!!) are good examples.

His failings have been less noticeable since Seb Bassong has com His come into the side, that I accept, but still he is NOT a Premier league defender and as such should not have been given an additional 3 years.

He has in the past been reliable and efficient but we are not in the charity business, we should give extended contracts to players who can do the job where we want to be in the Premier League.  Lucrative extended contracts should not be given to average championship players because they are a ''good ole boy'' or as is ridiculuosly stated they ''bleed yellow & green''.

Let me assure you if Russell Martin is a first choice centre back in the Premier League next year then we have a massive problem (Assuming of course we get there) - And it is for that reason he should not have been given a Three Year Extension.

  8. The size of AN task must be clear to him now.We have too many players who expect things to happen for them and are not prepared to work for the right to win a game.In all honesty we need a massive clearout......Defensively we are abysmal.Cuellar, whilst has done well at times, is a bit of a clumsy oaf......two penalties in two games he has been involved in and whilst they may have been soft his clumsy nature gives the referee the option to give that penalty!Turner is not the player we have seen before and I suspect is this is becaue the back four changes more often than the wind.Russell Martin......where do I start....He is not fit to wear the shirt talk about being captain. HE IS NO LEADER.  The only time he gets involved as a captain is AFTER the ref has given a decision and he has a wavey arms about chat with him then. Like hes going to chnage his mind because our incompetent captain talks to him....GET YOUR KNEES DIRTY MAN AND MAKE A CHALLENGE! Whittaker - Rubbish...enough saidWe really need two centre backs and a right back in the next week if we are to have a chance of playoffs.Into midfield Lafferty is simply not good enough and a liability.....we were all waiting for him to get booked!Dependent on the extent of the injuries to our centre mids then we may have to invest there too!Its a dismal dismal day to be a Norwich fan.On a point of note though Brentford are the best side to come to Carrow Road this season!

  9. The fact of the matter is for the first goal yesterday he stood off his man and let him have an easy cross into the box. For the second he was one of a couple of players who let the man stand in the box unchallenged for a couple of seconds before inviting to shoot and score in bottom corner.

AND its not just this week its every week.

  10. Can somebody please tell me how RM was voted Man of The Match yesterday - The guy is playing shockingly at the moment.

YES - He did score a wonder goal yesterday and for that I am grateful but his defending all season has been shocking!

The guy never gets his knees dirty.......He stands off and never makes an challenge until it is either too late and a cross/shot has been got off or he is forced to make a last ditch block when one was never needed.

He is not good enough to play in our team let alone captain our team.

He doesn''t lead on the pitch and seems to think that the occasional arm waving and chatting with the ref after he has given a decision shows his captaincy.

He is a liability and we will not get promoted with him in our team!!!
