  1. Yes they did, Zola did. I doubt they even talked to Lennon or Malky, the board have planned to appoint Adams all along and have taken us on a bit of a ride.
  2. I''d have preferred any of the other three but will be prepared to give him a fair chance, don''t see what other option we have than to do just that.
  3. LOL AndyCanary, made me chuckle! Houllier can''t handle the pressure of management but a back seat role would suit him.
  4. Gianluca Vialli Rudd Gullit Walter Smith Jean Tigana Kenny Dalglish Kevin Keegan Avram Grant Glenn Hoddle Those are a few other names of people out of football.
  5. The club could salvage something by appointing somebody really special like Houllier in the technical director role. Adams being the protege, working under somebody willing to pass on his years of expertise. Able and capable to take over the reigns as a caretaker if it doesn''t work out. The board really need to do something special here to convince the fans and players that Adam''s lack of experience isn''t going to be a disaster here.
  6. Don''t be silly, these roles are for washed up old managers who can''t get a management job or who have heart defects and can''t deal with pressure anymore.
  7. No the action of those players was pure petulance because they hadn''t been picked to play. We don''t need players like that.
  8. The club captain and club record signing are a large part of the reason why we are in this mess and they can keep on walking.
  9. Even if Lennon, Malky and Sherwood turned us down we know that Zola wanted the job! Zola or Adams, and we picked Adams!
  10. 22000 season ticket holders and we appoint our youth team coach. Leeds, Ipswich, Wolves and QPR fans must be laughing their heads off. We must be broke, can there be any other explanation?
  11. This is the worst thing that could have happened to us. Who is going to want to join us to play for somebody they have never heard of? We haven''t got any time to waste on letting an inexperienced and naive manager learn his craft, we needed somebody who could build a team and take us back up. This won''t get us promoted, 6th place at best. Ten years in the Championship again.
  12. When you look at young managers like James Beattie at Accrington, who is a multi-millionaire but working for £50,000 a year and spending more than £50,000 a year on covering expenses when they run out of money, to prove himself in management. Same with Shaun Derry and Gareth Ainsworth. And then look at people like Sol Campbell who think that they are owed a good living because of past achievements as a player, who no doubt would consider a £50k a year job at Accrington to be beneath him. You have to ask yourself whether there are enough black players out there who are willing to look for and take ''opportunities''.
  13. Oli Johnson had terrible luck with groin and stomach injuries and then had to get a PFA grant to have surgery on his knee and didn''t play for 18 months. So not really hilarious, feel sorry for him. I had a quick google though and found an article which said he was on Guiseley''s retained list for next season. Do you know what retained means? Because it doesn''t mean released.
  14. Holtcantshoot, a player can sign a contract to join another team anything up to six months before their contract is due to expire. So a player who has a deal until 31st June can sign a contract for another club in January. May not be as simple as you make out.
  15. From what I''ve heard previously Fox has loved living in the area and harbours no bitterness or resentment, feels privileged to have made it back to the top level with us. He is apparently the most relaxed guy you could care to meet so sure he isn''t moaning about being treated badly, has always been a good pro.
  16. Definitely not staying and has a move lined up back up north on a freebie, from a friend of his family.
  17. I will be behind the manager 100% no matter who it is. If it is a bad appointment then it is the board that we need to ask some questions of.
  18. We released Adeyemi last summer and by October we had Lee Clark saying that he will be a Premier League player, and under Lambert we held him in similarly high esteem. I do believe that Adeyemi will play in the Premier League.
  19. What do you mean they were deemed not good enough for the Premiership from day one? Chris Martin played our first few games. Adeyemi was only 18/19, we have lots of players that age who we consider great prospects but weren''t considered ready last season. Doesn''t mean we''d have released this this summer if we stayed up does it? And all were released by Hughton not by Lambert. Not really sure where you are coming from, Adeyemi in particular was very highly spoken of by Lambert.
  20. We should have kept Adeyemi and thought it at the time.
  21. All three were released by the club and then signed for other teams, we got compensation for none of them. Don''t know what you are on about TIL 1010, they were released one year ago not three years ago and were out on loan for our first two Prem seasons. I really thought that Adeyemi in particular was a great prospect and was released too early at 20, all Prem teams have lots of young players who they send out on loan so not sure why we had to rush to release Adeyemi he was still young and had already gained a lot of experience. Probably agree on Korey who is a couple of years older, and Martin as well, but Adeyemi is a big talent and everybody knew that didn''t they?
  22. Why can''t we offer any new manager a massive bonus if they get us up within two seasons? £5m cash lump sum?
