  1. I find it very interesting that we have just finished a very successful season and popular opinion is that fans are more concerned about keeping our Director of Football and the Head Coach than they are the players. I’m definitely (correct spelling AC12😉) not trying to implicate that we don’t care about which players go and who replaces them but it seems that nowadays it’s not “all about the players”. I find this very refreshing as to me it shows we are a very well run club where everybody concerned is singing from the same Hymn Sheet. Perhaps some of the absent billionaire owners should take note. One day, something is going to happen within the Premier League that will reduce the amount of money the so called ‘big clubs’ will receive and the playing field will be levelled like it was when it was inaugurated back in the early 90’s. When it does, hopefully clubs like ours will come to the fore again
  2. Chill Jersey, I’m sure our wonderful club have everything under control. For the moment let’s enjoy what we have just done this season and look forward to being back in the EPL next season.
  3. Omg, the bloody Germans equalised in the last minute. I hope the nervousness of extra time won’t bring on any of the pregnant ladies contractions 😉😉
  4. Somebody ring Boris’s mobile and ask him to have a word with Daniel 😉😉
  5. Shouldn’t it be a Mayors Hat ? 😁
  6. So, these clubs need to be punished but most people agree that it shouldn’t be the players or fans who are punished. The question therefore becomes how do you punish the clubs (or the owners of...) without punishing the players or fans. The answer; you can’t. Even if you ban these people from owning clubs they will either sell up to someone very similar to them and make a fortune or find a shell company or subsidiary to take it over. Look at it from the players point of view, they are earning very good money from these clubs BUT wouldn’t they be able to earn ‘nearly as much’ elsewhere? Yes they might lose out on a few thousand but please don’t tell me they can’t afford to. From the fans point of view, yes there are genuine fans who would be devastated if their club received a hefty points deduction or even relegation but it’s happened to other teams (Luton and Glasgow Rangers for example) and they survived and are starting to prosper again. Yes there would be short term pain, but the gain may well be they won’t have to go abroad to watch away league games (with all the expense that goes with it) or see their home season ticket price skyrocket for a very much reduced number of games. Then there are the ‘plastics’ who only support them (mostly from afar) because they are a “top 6 side”. Maybe they could support their local league or non league club and find out what it’s like to be a real football fan rather than a glory hunter. This is going to rumble on for a while yet but the one thing that certainly won’t go away is the certainty that this won’t be the last time this rears it’s ugly head and unless the punishments dished out are really severe there will be a European Super League within the next few years.
  7. Best idea so far. I wonder how many of the owners would :- a) be financially able to do it b) be prepared to do it c) put the club into administration to get away with not paying. Greedy b@stards.
  8. This was my response when this was talked about on a previous thread. I think it’s still relevant
  9. To be honest, i really don’t think either of them are good enough for the Premier League. I can see this being our Achilles Heel next season. Hope I’m wrong but........
  10. We would probably put out our under 18’s and still win and keep a clean sheet.
  11. And it’s working ok again for me today also (on my ipad).
  12. Whilst I applaud the intention, can’t see it making any difference. The idiots (or whatever you want to call them) will still be there when the boycott is over. The problem is people are a lot braver whilst sitting anonymously behind a keyboard. Can you imagine anyone having the b@lls to go up to a Duncan Forbes, Grant Holt or Dion Dublin and say something derogatory to their face? I don’t think so. It’s time these social media providers got their act together and to be honest that also includes this site and the minority of people who get personal and abuse other posters on a site where the vast majority of us supposedly support the same team. Healthy debate is one thing but some people take it too far at times. Why don’t we set a precedent and all be nice to each other. Or is that too much to ask?
  13. As I haven’t bothered to watch it since we were confirmed as being promoted, can anyone tell me if they have mentioned it on their show? I remember last year they did it when Leeds went up.
  14. Well I did jinx it 🤬 happened again this morning. Yes I can open in Safari but that’s not the point. Pete, instead of just saying will update you when.................. Can you please tell us what the problem is and why it’s taking so long to fix. You never know we might have an IT expert amongst us who can help.
  15. Hi Pete, Any up-date? Fingers crossed hasn’t happened to me on my iPad for over a week now (don’t want to jinx it but..........).
  16. Perhaps some people on here will start to think that Delia and Michael got it right after all.
  17. Yes it’s been a great season capped by Promotion and hopefully the title but whilst there have been some mitigating circumstances for the last two games there is certainly work to be done before next season. The most important factor will be the squad we start next season with. Yes there will be players the club will let go and hopefully replace with upgrades but the thing that worries me is the players who we don’t want to lose that will go. Skipp (who has been immense this season) is not our player, so will Spurs let him come back on loan or sell him to us and if the latter can we afford him? Of those who we have done well to keep to date (Max, Todd, Emi) who will stay and who will go and if they go will we be able to replace them and not weaken the team (yet alone improve it). Of those who have been coming on from the bench recently (i.e. not considered one of the best 11) how many of them will step up next season. Yes there are a lot of ifs and buts (like there are for most clubs between seasons) but I really hope we get it right this time as at the end of next season we will lose Webber and quite possibly Farke. It’s going to be an interesting summer and I really hope that the last couple of games and the remaining three don’t leave us with a case of deja vu.
  18. Swansea now 2-2 so unless they get a winner or Brentford score one then we are UP. Icing on the cake Watford losing at Luton
  19. Although it was a European game, make them play all of their domestic games next season behind closed doors at Anfield and ban their supporters from attending all away games too. Perhaps 2 seasons not being able to watch ‘their team’ live will have the desired effect, although I still have my doubts. In addition a 10 year European ban.
