1. Absolutely bonkers. Max Aarons - promising and exciting a prospect as he is - has played two games. To suggest he’s an upgrade on someone that played 150 times for Rangers and was capped thirty times by Scotland is batshit mental. He may well end up the better player but for heavens sake... Likewise with the Bassong and Olssen and Tettey comparisons. Potential is one thing but to suggest that a promising kid matches up to those seasoned internationals at THIS stage is fanciful in the extreme. Of course, let’s hope that they fulfil the promise they’ve shown but let’s not expect them to sprint before they can crawl.
2. One of those teams won promotion, the other has currently won one game from six in the Championship. I wonder which is better? 🙈😆👏👏👏 Why not compare it with the side that got relegated to league one? Or the side that beat Bayern Munich? It’s a neat new angle to say that we’re sh1te though, we’ll done for that.
3.
A BIG plus to having two men on the line for corners but I can''t agree with all men back Look at how Barcelona used to defend corners 7 players back two on the edge of the box ready for a quick break and the other up front
That’s great. In truth though, conceding a goal from a corner isn’t a huge worry for a team that could call on Messi, Neymar, Suarez, Ronaldinho, Iniesta, Xavi etc etc going forward at any particular given time.
4. Loads of runs although I’ve never really enjoyed watching him bat - that’s not to say that he hasn’t been exceptionally good - because he has. I always liked watching Stewart or Thorpe or Pietersen although you’d probably rather have a Cook or an Atherton digging in under pressure. Fantastic test record though, huge amount of runs and seems like a decent bloke. Bet he’d get on with Russell Martin.
5. Could it be that the team mark those deemed as the biggest threat man to man and then position others zonally based on watching the oppositions previously delivered set pieces? Does it have to be one or the other? I’ve no idea. I wasn’t even very good at subbuteo let alone actually play football but..
6. Nice try Lincoln but... You, on the one hand criticise an alleged lack of ambition and then in the next breath say that this affects the mind-set of our young stars. If the height of our “young stars” ambitions is to play for Norwich City then I’d question their ambition completely. I also suspect that they wouldn’t progress very far in the game. It has always been thus. Craig Bellamy, Darren Eadie, Chris Sutton etc etc No amount of perceived ambition would stop our best players being picked off by other clubs. At any given time there is a pecking order. That’s why we could take Dean Ashton from Crewe, James Maddison from Coventry and Nathan Tedmond from Birmingham. By the same token it’s why Leicester took Madders from us yet lost Mahrez to Man City.
7.
'' Changes that saw us with 4 probable Premiership youngsters on the pitch ''.I am sure the board will be absolutely delighted with that which means we can sell them to keep balacing the books to remain debt free and we can start the conveyor belt all over again with another rebuilt.Marvellous !
That IS pretty much the plan they outlined, isn’t it? Of course, promotion would change things a bit.. I’m not sure that the use of ‘debt free’ is entirely accurate either. There will certainly be times where we accrue some debt, a facility was in place to accommodate such a situation for this season. It’s more that we have to be self-sustainable and this generate our own income. To that end, it’s imperative that we blood these young players; Lewis will likely be the next to go.
8. Weren’t any. Worst Norwich performance ever seen. Made Colchester at home look like some sort of masterclass. Or so you’d think looking at social media
9. Not sure if this is an indication of the last knocking for Farke or that some of our fans need to toughen up a bit. It wasn’t a “good game” but I struggle to think of a time when our own support would turn on our own during a derby game. Absolutely nonsensical behaviour and one of the most tinpot things I’ve ever heard. It wasn’t an easy watch at times and they did get on top in the second half before they scored but more than in any other game, Ipswich away is one where you present a united front and certainly don’t hand the initiative to them with petulant whining. Thankfully, the players had a bit more resolve and got something from the game. That in itself, along with young Thompson playing on one leg for ten minutes plus shows that the players both “get it” and are still playing for the clueless manager. As for the Buendia sub, if anything it was overdue.
10. Awful spectacle but the only side with any quality at all on display was us. I was a bit surprised by the line up containing so many technical players when it was pretty obvious they would miss out the midfield whenever possible. More surprising was that we then didn’t look to play through them consistently but often went direct ourselves and looking to pick up bits and pieces with Buendia, Hernandez and Pukki. Thought Max Aaron’s did very well given it was a league debut, Jamal Lewis will be sold in the summer and Tettey put in a decent shift. Great finish from Leitner, if he could keep his concentration for a solid 90 he’d be a hell of a player- unfortunately he punctuates some terrific vision and passing with ceding possession in his own third far too often. The negatives would be that we consistently struggle with anything aerial and their long throws and up and under hoofing put us under more pressure than it should have. I’m also not sure that the defenders have faith in Krul just yet, maybe it’s a communication issue? However, we seem to be in two minds in our own box a lot and a sharp striker would punish that tentativeness. Based on today, it’s hard to think we’ll be bothering either business end of the table this season, whether that represents significant progress or not remains to be seen.
11. Fantastic gesture by Kiwiscot. Thanks from all of us. Good luck with your picks, Jellytot too. Hate jellytots....anyway.... I’m going Welsh. On the weekend of us beating the scum I’m thinking of Urn and Bellas and, um, Chris Llewellyn as I choose Millwall v SWANSEA. Away win. Gulp. For the Norwich game; they’re fucking shit so lump it all on us to win.
12. Attleborough, you have to understand that John is now retired. Unfortunately, policing still flows through those veins. As such, he gathers evidence and, when he sees fit, he uses it to police the forum. A Pinky Plod, if you will. You can also often see him patrolling the Dereham Road roundabout (Larkman) and on occasion he still dons the white gloves and attempts to direct traffic at the bottom of Exchange Street. We all have our foibles and his are fairly harmless. Live and let Bill.
13.
What a stupid binnerette. Their 5th place finish was a greater achievement than us finishing 3rd. ( as well as 5th and I think 4th) because the top division was stronger when they did it. What a subjective and biased viewpoint. BTW, stars on shirts are justified for winning the WC as a national side or the Champions League as a club but the title, FA Cup or minor European trophy? On that basis Manchester United and Liverpool''s shirts would be covered in them.
Indeed. Imagine Rangers, Celtic, Benfica or Real Madrid adopting their star policy!! We did finish fifth and fourth Crafty but they were in the First Division (old money) which they did win when it was in black and white. Although, I believe (correct me if I’m wrong) our name also appears on that trophy thanks to the Worthington escapades back in 03/04. 😁
14. Great signing. Can’t see us keeping him at bay for 90 minutes.
15. They were a bit slow off the mark John, my ex wife deleted me from history waaaaaay before them (forgot about my bank account though..)😂 Now...play nice....😉
16.
This is a rum old kettle of fish. When I first started posting on here things were much more black and white. We had those who wanted rid of Worthy, known as Worthy Outers or WOs. Against those who didn''t want Worthy out that were known as Keep The Faithers or KTFs. I don''t remember either side being accused of being binners and maybe that''s because what the two factions were was easily defined and self explanatory. But that''s not true now. Now it''s not nearly so simple. The Outers seem to be against the rest of the club. They don''t like the owners, the board, the manager, most of the players and the fans who turn up at Carrow Road every game. Their dislike for everything about the club makes it difficult to put a label on them. Binners seems harsh so what do you call someone who hates everything about the club?
Tilly????😉😂
17. In all seriousness, beating Cardiff and sticking in a decent performance to boot will raise expectations for Sunday. Potentially, that could be a dangerous mix if we were to suffer an almighty reverse. However, with nine years of dominance and a far more talented squad at the disposal of Baby Farke, I can’t see beyond another resounding victory for the mighty yellow army. I’ll stick my fat neck out and say we’ll win with a -1 handicap. Lump on. COYY.
18. Winning a reserved game against a Cardiff youth team may well come to horned him. Expections our now razed for Sunday and the happy clapers will bode out think that the plan is backing track. When we get beet by the binners - hoop um wrong - this will orla bean for nuthin. Fax our fax. We int fit for porpoise.
19. Russell Martin clearly lost his man for their goal.
20. Nutty, we all know the answer to that. They’d have taken Cullum, they’d have rolled the red carpet out for Evans, given the hand in marriage of their first born daughter for Cellina and probably would have presented their own gonads in a glass case for Fernandes - hell what’s that Di Stefano or whatever his name was doing now that Saddam Hussein is dead? Of course, we could be on our fifth or sixth cycle by now and we’d still be hearing how it was better to have tried and failed or some other such cop out tosh.
21. I was agreeing with NN - not that I suspect that needs clarifying. How many people would plump for the type of gamble they are advocating with something of theirs? Like a house? Plenty mortgaged to 125% with Northern Rock and others and after all, you know, the housing bubble and financial boom wasn’t going to come crashing down any time soon was it??? Ask Lehmann Brothers how that panned out.... I’m pretty thick to be honest and have no idea about finances, accounting or anything else but it seems to me that if you live beyond your means it’s pretty likely to come and bite you on the arse eventually. I’m sure one of the cleverer people on here can point out where I’m going wrong with such a simplistic view.
22. Well, we might currently be 38th but our league position for this season has no bearing on the provided figures and will not do so until next May. I wonder how much that 22.5 figure would change if we finished 1st or 24th....
