  1. Man City have hit a sticky spot, perhaps Guardiola will be available soon? Or there’s always Rooney/Lampard/Gerrard?
  2. I wonder if Man City have an “Essex Citeh” who is still bitching about getting done 3-2 by a side with a fraction of their expenditure, no fit centre backs and a load of freebies playing? It’s football for farks sake. Results happen. We got twatted 7-1 at Blackburn once upon a time. We also got thumped 5-1 at Tottenham the same season. Man United beat Arsenal 8-3. Villa smashed Liverpool. It’s just football. You might as well focus on us winning 2-4 at Highbury with that delightful Robins chip. It’s a load of old pony and focusing on one result is idiotic. We lost 7-1 to Colchester; they’re struggling to stay in the football league. Was it Port Vale that thumped us six something? Absolute nonsense to concentrate on a single result especially when you’ve got more sticks in your armoury than that little piggies house. Literally nobody cares about your personal little beef (pork?) with the club. In fact, I’m going to make it my mission to train a pigeon to sh@t on your seat relentlessly.
  3. Tough. Unless you own a significant number of shares and missed out on the Bond issue.
  4. Why did you start your Is Wagner tactically inept thread then? Yes. But as far as you’re concerned he’s not going anywhere. Completely pointless.
  5. Given that it looks like he’ll soon be back on the market; would you take Wayne Rooney as a replacement for Wagner? Young ambitious, elite level player…what’s not to like?
  6. Can’t see us getting anything. I think people are getting carried away by a fortunate draw away at the scum and an unconvincing scraped win against cannon fodder in Huddersfield. Ok, we have 4 points but nobody could argue if we’d lost both games. Still the starting XI appears to be a lottery and the only foreseeable result here is defeat. Probably heavy. I expect the 17,000 that were ACTUALLY THERE against Huddersfield would agree with me. Hope I’m wrong.
  7. I’d have been delighted if we’d signed Ross Barkley.
  8. From where I was sat, they might as well have been closed today. Swathes and swathes of empty seats, I didn’t hear the announced attendance thanks to the MC seemingly speaking into the mic through a pillow, but I’d be amazed if there were more than 17,000 there today.
  9. After the Lord Mayor’s Show I suspect. Back to earth with a hefty thud and a reversion to the norm. 1-4.
  10. I have no idea what this means. Obviously, I haven’t actually spoken to Morty. He’s somewhere between Australia and Indonesia currently. Rest assured, I’m sure he’d happily buy you a pint though. He’s that kinda guy.
  11. I’ve just consulted Morty and he says that if this board gets closed down he’ll meet any of you for a f***ing pint, whenever you like.
  12. I hope people take this on board. You know who you are.
  13. Nope. I’ve really, really thought about it and I wouldn’t take any of their players. Got a lucky draw thanks to a hit and hope scuff to the bottom corner but only one side ever looked like winning it. They had a few chances (half chances?) in the first half but didn’t have the composure or capability to take advantage. Weak.
  14. Far be it from me to try and determine how folk offer their support, I’ve had a hissy fit and left early in the past. But it was a hissy fit. My - admittedly simplistic - view is try and do what we can to be encouraging and behind them in the ground and then we can get all maudlin and mardlin over a nice half of mild in the rub-a-dub-dub. Im just not sure rousing renditions of “we’re facking sh01te”, gallows humour or not, does much to motivate the lads.
  15. If we beat them in April (or draw to be fair), then I think it extremely likely that nobody in their first two concession ranges (u12 - obvs and u19) will never remember them beating us in their entire lives. My youngest is 10 and they hadn’t beat us for four and a half years before he was born.
  16. You’re right about the money. But you seem determined to make a massive thing about the percentage thing. It was a throwaway comment, possibly/probably ill-judged but whatever percentage it is and who it is, the only way we, as supporters, can have any impact on a game is from the stands. Why do the oppositions job for them? None of us are rich enough to start buying clubs or elite players, the only possible (admittedly limited) chance we have to level things up is get onto the opposition, pressure the officials and when that doesn’t work, we can still moan in the pub about wasting money on Coney or Sheron or Naismith or RVW or Rashica or whatever. Just save it for the pub.
  17. We can still back them when they’re sh01te. We’ve done it before. Attitudes have definitely changed in the Sky era but when I was going in the 80s as a kid, I don’t ever remember feeling that I was “owed” something, be that a level of performance or entertainment, you’d go more hoping for the best I think. But I’ve been fortunate. I’ve seen us win at both Wembley Stadiums, seen us win Division 2 four (?) times, division 3, make 2 FA cup semis, finish top 6 a few times… a few years before I was born we’d never even played in the top flight in our 70 year existence.
  18. Put the glue down. Go to bed. You’ve listed a load of nobodies and rejects. Williams didn’t walk into our team when he was here. There was a player you had that we wanted, so we signed him. Pecking order. If we wanted any of your players, we’d do it again now. Anyway, shouldn’t you be robbing a charity or terrorising a pensioner or something? If you’re really bored that tree growing out of your stand could do with a prune.
