I just think CH did not know how to use him.

He''s a six yard box poacher, and if used as such will probably get you 15+ goals a season.

But he needs a target man to play off and a mid - field that will give him the ball in the right areas, and CH''s team weren''t set up to do that.

Giving him a way to go back to doing what he''s good at would be a display of real leadership.

Under Lambert we got a team that was more than the sum of it''s parts. Under Hughton or Adams for the most part the team has been less than the sum of it''s parts.

We need to find someone who can get the team playing well and going out expecting to win again.

I don''t care if we''re as dull and drilled as George Graham''s Arsenal as long as we get back to winning ways.

At least the small crowds mean less money for the FA ==> some motivation to fix the problem.Maybe it''s time to move to a system of central contracts for the England team?Or for the English league to copy the German model and have the FA take over the club''s academies.I know the clubs wouldn''t like it, but surely the FA would be able to find some sanction if they won''t cooperate - maybe asking UEFA to exclude English clubs from Europe until the clubs do as they''re told?If that takes money out of the Premiership and makes clubs less attractive as toys for oligarchs, I would see that as a good thing.

A well argued piece.I think that we will likely find occasions, due to injury or who we''re playing where 4-5-1 or 3-5-2 would serve us better, but I agree with the main thrust of the argument that our main strength is in midfield and we should use this area as a platform for attack and a shield for the defence.Who knows, if it led to a few clean sheets we might see a revival of confidence and form in the defence.
