Hands up those who are not going Saturday
wooster replied to CANARYKING's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I'm not - my son and his debating team had to be taken to Oxford on Saturday, as no teachers were available. So I offered my seat for the game through the buyback scheme. Tonight the Oxford event has been cancelled (virus-related) but my seat has been re-sold so I can't go back on that. -
Apparently Matt Hancock is meeting opposition parties tomorrow to take them through the Govt's plans that will be announced in the Commons next week. These plans may change the current approach, hence the need for buy-in from (or discussion with) opposition parties.

Agree entirely - but did it need stating?

Thanks NN. I'm absolutely delighted to help the cause and am really (still) gutted about the WBA result. I wanted my name on that board. I should say 4 of the 8 'proposal' picks came from PuPs tips so thanks go to First Wazzock (PSG), Hissing Sid (Arminia Bielefeld), Kathy (Radnicki Nis) and DJ11 (Olympiakos). The others were just obvious bankers so no skill needed there. I can relax now and enjoy the weekend.

It's clear there is still support amongst the fans. That might not be enough but it bodes well for the future. -
Ricardo's report v Leicester City
wooster replied to ricardo's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Compared to the Wolves game this like chalk and cheese with a very different level of application. I've read on the match stream derogatory comments about Duda but he seemed to have his best game since his debut. He and Drmic (I think) tested Schmeichel and, after Lewis's opener it could easily have been 3-0 if their efforts has succeeded. In the same vein Leicester missed at least a couple of golden opportunities, thankfully. Lewis seemed fragile in the first half (lacking in confidence perhaps?) but I much prefer his attacking capability to Byram. His goal was very well taken. Aarons was magnificent and my MotM,. Buendia and Cantwell are full of clever flicks & tricks that can open up opportunities but sometimes they try these in the wrong areas of the pitch and that can expose us. Pukki is such a team player that there were times when he was covering for our full backs. You can get better than that from your central striker in terms of team commitment. Finally, I thought the crowd were great tonight, reminiscent of the Man City game. -
As tomorrow is the Feb 29th I thought I'd do an extra bet to mark the day. Having run some ideas past NN, I think the best I can do is the following that spells out Proposal (obvs). So home wins for: PSG Rednicki Nis Olympiakos Panathinaikos Ostersunds Sevilla Arminia Bielefeld Lazio NN - excuse the spelling, I have sent a tenner to you to cover the bet. Six is bad enough but eight is pushing it, so I've gone for fairly low odds - here's hoping.
