  1. Nearly every other post I read today has someone moaning about people moaning, that struck me as quite funny really.   Do those people not realise that they are just as moany as the moaners Also, people need to clarify exactly what moaning is.   Constructive criticism where you can see an area for improvement, isn''t necessarily moaning for the sake of moaning.   People that moan about the constuctive criticism and are actually more moany than the criticisers. At the end of the day this is bad season for Norwich and the mood on here is bound to be low. Every fan is a budding Manager and every fan has his/her own ideas how they think the current Manager is doing well or badly. THE MOST IMPORTANT fact though, is that WE ARE ALL NORWICH CITY FC FANS.   Every person on here is 100% behind the team on match day, whether they back Worthy or not.  Therefore stop moaning just for the sake of moaning, listen to others points and opinions and debate them rather than dismiss them as Worthy outers or moaners. OTBC!!!
  2. I will answer your question.   The crowd respects all the players and will support all of them from whistle to whislte.   Leon has gained mucho respect for scoring against the binners and Norwich fans will like him just for that.   However, that does not automatically make him a World beater.   As I said he is a nice lad who most definitely runs his heart out for us, but he doesn''t have the skills needed to bag loads of goals.   Hey he is only young and hopefully he can only get better, but I don''t think results would have been any different with him fit. What you and most of the people on this board who are backing Worthy seem to forget or more to the point seem to ignore, is the fact that we all support the team and always will.   Just because we have lost faith in Worthy it doesn''t mean we don''t support the team anymore.   Hell if I met Worthy in a pub I would still resepct the man and shake his hand, get his autograph etc, but I simply think he has taken this club as far forwards (and now backwards) as he can.    Injuries or no injuries, he has had plenty of time to build a decent squad that would compete at this level and the fact is he hasn''t, the squad we have now is too thread bare to compete in the Championship.   This is not down to board money, it is down to who he brought in over the last few seasons and who he has let go.   Okay there could be undelying board pressure to reduce wages etc., but I don''t believe that. Worthy backers have taken it on themselves to attack and argue against any decent point raised by people that openly state they have lost faith in Worthy.   We are all fans, we all spend money on this club and we should be able to discuss points.
  3. Rangers are not fullfilling their potential = Manager at fault, not an over-reaction. Norwich are not fullfilling their potential = lets give the Manager another season, lack of ambition.
  4. muhahahahaha........such a good partnership.......hahahahah, based on what exactly??   A few goals towards the end of an awful Premiership season.  I  can''t even beleive your post has earned 5 pages worth of replies with such awful points being made from the outset.  I had refrained from replying as your opening statement telling us all to shut up was childish at best.  However, you have stooped to new levels of comedy by making Leon out to be a player we miss, he is a nice lad and does indeed put 150% in to every minute, but he is the worst striker I have seen play in the Championship for the last 2 seasons, we would have been better off with Iwan. The facts are there; Worthy''s record over the last 2 seasons is absolutely awful.   The entire basis for his defence, according to you, is that he has injuries.   IT IS HIS FAULT THAT WE DON''T HAVE ANY DECENT COVER, fact, end of.   The buck stops with Worthy.
  5. That''s exactly what I thought when I heard that on the news last night/this morning.   I am still an optimist and think the TEAM can come good this season, but still definitely want to see the back of Worthy as his record speaks for itself.
  6. Hit - crossing everything, my optimism is returning.............slowly.
  7. Have I been there?!!!   As a young man I was the Manager of a sports shop in the infamous Arndale Centre, a character building experience, but not necessarily one I would recommend nor wish to go through again
  8. thanks for the PNE view on him.   As Jim has said sounds like Safri could be a useful partner for him and Hughes for that matter.   My guess is Hughes will be playing right wing or right of a diamond though. Looks promising, just hope it isn''t too little too late and we can''t rest all our hopes on one player to change the rest of the team.   I think we should rest some of those hopes though and who knows an inspired performance or two from Dickson could inspire the likes of Hux and Deano to start scoring again. OTBC!!!
  9. Steve, I agree with everything you''ve said there, apart from: Getting Shackell, McKenzie and Safri back into the team asap.  They are injured so that is not currently an option. Also I don''t think dropping Doc for Shacks is a good idea when the Doc has been one of our best players for the last 6 or so games and Davenport is only a loan player, so we need to get the Doc and Shack partnership building sooner rather than later. Lots of people are also banging on about Mckenzie, the most clumsy player I have ever seen, crazy legs or what.   He is not the answer. Apart from those three points, good post.
  10. nothing wrong with Stevenage Reserves you know, my cousin used to play for them,
  11. absolutely rubbish, sounded like we actually played better against Luton and QPR then this boring match.     BOOOO,  BOOOO, what a load of rubbish!!!!
  12. all I''m hearing is Naylor, Naylor, Naylor.   Their bloomin left back is running rings round us!!!!!!!
  13. that''s the problem old boy, he''s a left back, but for once Worthy didn''t have much of an option in this regard.   Also Wolves had 3 in midfield, so it''s no wonder Brennan is struggling there.    Don''t know if you saw him against Cardiff, but he actually did very well.   However, I do agree apart from that he has never done anything special for this club.   It is Worthy''s fault for not buying enough decent midfielders though.
  14. making plans, I think his point was it is a little unfair when you shell out over £300 to see home games and then have to pay another £40 to just listen to away games, when you have also paid your BBC licence of £120 and not to mention all the petrol.   I use £45 a home just driving from Stevenage and back, but I only pay £19 to listen get the matchlive console, still think it is a rip off though. In answer to your question, yes I think season ticket holders should get preferential treatment, maybe a discount.   Why not?
  15. no changes at half time.   Why not get Thorne on for Henderson, what sort of message is this,  you cna play crap for 45 minutes, miss our only decent opp from 8 yards out and I''ll still leave you on!!!!
  16. oh dear, concede early in the half and late in the half.   We haven''t shown anything in this match so far, come on boys!!!!!!!!
  17. sounds like Hoddle has got his tactics sorted very well.   He has loaded our very weak midfield area and they are winning everything and he has put two on Huckerby as he knows that all we have in attack. Nigel has got to realise this and demand we start using the right more, or even introduce another midfielder to even things up, maybe Rossi, but that will leave us short up front or in defence!!!  Hmmm what to do?
  18. amazing Wiz and Yankee on the same page, you''ve had it now Dicky, no chance of beating them Seriously though, they are both right, you make out YC is patronising which is laughable when I read some of your posts.   You have such a stubborn attitiude and lack the ability to compromise and take onboard other peoples opinions without dismissing them as rubbish.   The annoying thing is you hardly ever back up your own opinions with any constructive details. Anyway the point about fans that attend games being better than ones that don''t is one that has reared its ugly head many times on here and you seem hell bent on using it as your only ammunition to shut up sensible posters like YC, cheapshot IMO.   You seem to lack the ability to hold a reasoned debate with him, so you just imply he doesn''t deserve an opinion because he hasn''t been at game, utter rubbish. Until this season I hadn''t been to home game for about 12 years and I still enjoyed good debates on here and found my opinions very similar to lots of other people that did go to games regularly.   This season I have been at every home game (bar 3) and still there are people on here whose opinion of the same 90 minutes of football is vastly different to mine.   Weird, but its what makes us all different.   Anyway I guess what I am saying is please stop using cheapshots and actually come up with some decent debating material and please remember we are all on the same side here
  19. his closing statement about there being a total beleif the club will survive "implies" that there wasn''t that beleif at Norwich last season, something a lot of people on here thought.
  20. loads more +''s than -''s IMO. Ashton is obviously trying too hard, you can see that when he is on the touch line collecting the ball.  He should be in the box getting service, but isn''t at the moment.  Get off his back he will find his shooting boots again especially if Nigel can build on that midfield performance. Our posession was awesome, boring backwards passing it is not, it is called keeping the ball.   Look how many times Cardiff lost the ball when we did give it to them.  That was because they were not comfortable on the ball due to their limited time with it.  How many times did they get into our box, not many at all. Thought the whole side played for each other and passed very confidently.   Jarrett showed signs of what he can do with a little more confidence and match time under his belt.   Hendo is not the answer up front unfortunately, but Thorne should be back available soon and I would like to see him given a decent run up front with Deano. The biggest test is how Worthy reacts to that match, what he changes and what he keeps.   Personally if all are fit then the same starting 11, but introduce Thorne early on in the second half.
  21. Generally agree with you there zipper, but felt it was a good team performance and a well deserved win.   Yet again we created bag fulls of chances in the first 30 minutes, but as they weren''t being converted started to try different things which was frustrating large sections of the crowd, you know the people that just scream get it in the box, when there is no one there, lol. Anyway I thought our possession and ball distribution was excellent and the best home match I have seen this season. I am glad you rated Jarrett highly as he has got a slamming by some others on here and from the crowd last night too.   He is definitely low in confidence at the moment and that was causing his mistakes, but as the game wore on he came on leaps and bounds and I can see him being very useful if given a decent run of games in the centre. I was surprised WLY got MOM, as he was non-existant for large parts of the game, but played well when he did get the ball and put in bag fulls of effort.   I thought the Doc deserved MOM thought. Isn''t it funny how people were so against Doc, but now he looks like one of our star players. I was annoyed to hear Neil Adams on the radio saying about fans wanting Holt, Flemming and Edworthy out last season and now we are missing them.     The only reason that people like me wanted them out Neil is because Nigel had Safri, Shackell and Helveg sidelined in favour of those players.  I agree that we could do with them now, but only because Shacks is out, our replacements for Helveg and Eddy are no better and the midfield is struggling for fit players.
  22. you two have to be on a wind up right? I thought we looked very good last night, yes we still have problems converting our chances, but our possession and passing was top notch for large spells of the game.   Once again the away team created minimal chances.    The back four are looking better and better with each game.    Hughes was only on the pitch for about 15 minutes, but you still say he was rubbish, I thought he was awesome against Sheff Wed, remember he is Holt''s replacement not Francis.    Jarrett didn''t look at all comfortable last night, but he showed some signs of his potential ability and he is definitely a confidence player.   I thought as the game went on he got better and better and at least he was playing in his proper position.   What doesn''t help him is the crowd''s reaction everytime he did make a little mistake. Ashton and Henderson looked well up for it and worked very hard.   McVeigh of course got man of the match, although I thought Doc deserved that.   Huckerby started very well and was looking sharp with two very good runs resulting in one excellent save from the keeper and another shot that just went wide.   I thought he phased out a bit in the second half though. Even Brennan played well in the centre when he came on.   I thought our no here we go another left back in the centre midfield roll, but Nigel this time had no other option and Jim played well. The only criticism is the way we sat back after the goal and invited them in, it was scary for 10 minutes.   Also the fact we seem to need about 10 shots to get one in, but that is definitely down to a lack of confidence and people like Ashton trying too hard shooting from all over the place. All in all the best team performance at home I have seen this season (I have missed 3 though).
  23. Louis Jean is reported to have played right wing in his career isn''t he?   He was played there in the friendly against Inter and although this was only a friendly I thought he looked quick and pretty useful there. What was the last think Jonson said, "I really want to stay at Norwich and fight for my place, I love it here", next thing you know Nigel has sold him.............dear oh dear!!!  I know he wasn''t a winger either, but he was better than Marney and had more spirit than this current squad seem to have put together recently, bar Doc, Ashton, Davenport, Drury and Hughes that is.
  24. I hear ya Wiz, but I will be there singing and wearing the yella tomorrow, sorry.  I have waited so long to be in a position to afford a season ticket and the one year I get one is the worst in our last 5, typical, but I will still be there.
  25. Brennan given a go on the left again, how many more times???? Huckerby pushed back up front...  again how many more times????    Both are rubbish in both those positions and both were played in those positions on Saturday and were..........rubbish. Apart from that the post was very good.
