  1. So Kane plays instead of Oliveira/Srbeny... What chance would he have taken last night? Or in the last few home games? We are still waiting for somebody to stick it in the top corner form 25yards every time
  2. Can anybody suggest a striker who would fit this system? I honestly believe you could put Kane, Lewandowski or Higuain up front and we would still be having the same issues
  3. I''m sorry, but shots on target is a pretty pointless stat. Take Ipswich for example. We had about 11 shots in the 2nd half alone, of which about half were on target. Of those on target only ONE was from inside the box - Kloses header which we scored from & was created by a Centre Half chasing a lost cause. You can have 100 shots on target in a game, if they are all from outside the box it means little. As for sooner or later it will change, well it hasn''t changed since August so I dont hold out much hope now.
  4. I''m amazed at how easily pleased some fans are... Less goals, less points, lower in the table, only 5 home wins, 8 home draws, worst home run since the late 90s I believe (worse than Roeder, Gunn, Hughton, Grant etc), lack of depth in the squad, no money to buy the players we need, facing losing our best 2 players in the summer. But at least we concede less...
  5. Is it a surprise people are giving up? Just look at tonight, it was all too predictable
  6. I’m bored. Not really sure I expected much else though to be honest. All the ball, few chances, got lucky when Forest have broken quickly. We may win 1-0, we may lose 1-0, but it will probably be 0-0. It’s getting to the point where I’m not even sure if I am that bothered what way it goes!
  7. He was, but who do you replace him with? Steipermann? He seems to have disappeared lately - can’t remembwr last time he was involved. Watkins? He really needs to prove himself between now and summer. Srbeny? I get he’s a striker, but if we are playing narrow could do a job there?
  8. What’s a decent poster? Someone who says something you agree with?
  9. Define instant success. I haven’t seen anybody in this thread suggest we should be challenging Wolves. Or do you consider progress at home, and a little bit of consistent home form across 3/4 season, unrealistic and instant success?
  10. Where did anybody say that expected the same success rate? I think the original poster said ''manage to win home games'' - is that such an outrageous expectation? And people say LDCs opinions are ridiculous...
  11. @DDD Exactly, albeit in League One. He set us up to get the best out of the players that we had, to get results. Hence why I mentioned Conte in an earlier post - he did the same at Chelsea last year We simply don''t have the finance to go out and buy a whole team to play the way we want - thats effectively what Guardiola has done at Man City, or Wolves have done You have to get the right balance between playing the way you want and playing the way to get the best out of the squad. At the minute it seems its Farkes way or no way until we are losing, then dragging ourselves back into games by going direct
  12. @Zac No more ridiculous than comparing it to Man City. They needed some full backs to suit their system, spent 100million on 2 players...
  13. Yet last season it took Chelsea players about 2 games to get to grips with an entirely new system once Conte changed it midway through. Dont get me wrong, I like Farke, but I dont blame the players 100% for this season. Also, I don''t think it isn''t because they have not got to grips with Farkes style - I just think Farkes style is far too easy to defend against in the Championship. Look how a team like Bolton could completely nullify it with simple tactical changes. Yes the players have to adapt top Farke''s style, but Farke also has to adapt his style to the Championship
  14. ''The higher tempo will come when the fundamentals of DF''s style of football have become more or less second nature to the players on the pitch'' Well they have had 3/4 of a season so far and they don''t really seem much closer. The flaws of the early season home games are still there now. I''m not really sure when you expect it all to suddenly click? As professional footballers surely they should be able to get to grips with it pretty quickly?
  15. @Hairy Now that depends on what you expect of the player in that position. i would say Reed is probably the better DEFENDER of the 2, but these days, especially at home, you want your full backs to be providing width. Going forward there is no doubt Pinto is the better of the 2
  16. It didnt particularly sound like it. The reasoning for a back 4 though is because v Bolton it was by far and away the best half of football we have seen until we went narrow again in the 2nd half. Add Pinto to that mix & we have an outlet on the right even if Hernandez/Murphy do go narrow
  17. Gunn Pinto - Klose - Hanley - Lewis Tettey Hernandez - Leitner - Maddison - Murphy Olivieria Same as Bolton, except Pinto in for Reed to give us a bit extra attacking pace/width on the right. Also, tactically keep Murphy/Hernandez wide (like 1st half v Bolton) and not naroow (like 2nd half v Bolton)
  18. ''we are on a long unbeaten run'' Its a bit like when we were on a long unbeaten run under Bryan Gunn at the minute. Yeah its great we are unbeaten, but at the same time its also 4 draws in a row. Are you honestly telling me you would rather draw 4 in a row (4 points) instead of winning 2 & losing 2 (6 points)?
  19. Move the ball quicker, play with width. The things we were going in the first half v Bolton. Yes we didn’t take chances, but at least we created them. Don’t do what we did in the second half v Bolton or fist half v Ipswich - play narrow, slow, in front of the defensive lines. We create next to nothing then
  20. https://twitter.com/NorwichCityFC/status/969512651666595842 All very cryptic? Anybody got any ideas? Academy infrastructure? Colney upgrades?
