  1. 2/10? Thats generous. I was struggling to reach 1/10 to be honest, it needs to be at least a bit subtle
  2. We have very little spare money. We have been told that several times, by various people from the club. To put a bit aside we are looking at £700k-£1mil per year. That money has to come from somewhere to put aside, so will have to be pulled from elsewhere in the club. Not really sure that is too outrageous a statement?
  3. I don''t even think you know what you are talking about now...
  4. What grants for a Cat 1 academy? That''s the first time I have ever heard we get grants for having it? if that''s the case why are clubs choosing not to bother with it? (Watfoprd, Huddersfield etc) And my point still stands, and others seem to get it to. If we get promoted we can simply pay it out of £150mil or so we get just for being in the Premier League. If we don''t get promoted we have to find that money, but from a much smaller budget.
  5. @Sweep For somebody that has spent half the thread trying to pretend they haven''t said something they did say, I find it ironic you are trying to claim I have said something I didn''t say. At no point did I say its linked to promotion. As Badger points out, if we get promoted (which I''m sure is the clubs plan) then the £3.5-£5mil is a small amount compared to money we will bring in. But if we don''t get promoted the money still has to be paid back - we have to make sure we have that money spare to pay back. But £3.5mil is a large percentage of our current turnover to be able to pay back.
  6. I get that. But the question is what if we DON’T get promoted. We will be ‘legally obliged’ to pay back the money, which will be a large % of our turnover
  7. What happens if the club doesn’t get promoted? Where will we suddenly find the money to pay it all back?
  8. The man seems extremely proud of the fact that he had managed to get his daughter spat on. He is struggling to contain his delight in the video, after she had told him to stop in the first place The 14 year old is the only one acting grown up in the whole episode
  9. ‘back to footie and we have competed with the very best in this league and the one above. Just remember we were close to beating the EPL champions and a team still credibly at the highest level in European football’ Yet in 8 games against the current bottom 5 we have only managed to beat Birmingham.
  10. How many fans honestly have £500 to invest at the drop of a hat? By my fag packet maths they need to sell 7000 bonds to hit the £3.5mil mark - that seems a stretch
  11. The video they have released along with it is nothing short of bizarre. It’s like a Party Political Broadcast for a small party Lots of sound bites (be among the first to invest! was particularly cringy) but also unrealistic- building a healthy, established Premier League team with players from the local area sounds great but is so out of touch with reality. Not sure how many people are happy to part with £500 either
  12. www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/city-announce-scheme-to-fund-academy-facilities-1-542682 It’s actually not that straightforward, and a minimum investment of £500 if I’m reading correctly
  13. There we have it. £3.5million needed to keep Cat 1 status, need fans/businesses to invest. Is it sustainable in the long term?
  14. So with investment we may prosper We may struggle It may transform the club It may destroy the club But we will probably just join the other 15 or so teams in this league all thinking that ‘this is our year’ The alternative is what we have at the minute where we stay where we are, trying to do it different. The problem is I don’t really see us getting to a point where we can challenge for more than 6th place at a push
  15. If I remember correctly the stadium is in a fairly big park, with a decent pub directly on the other side road to the park - the Brickmakers according to Google Earth
  16. Something to do with the academy according to Rob Butler on Twitter, so I guess it’s not linked to Webber’s comments about Colney a few months back
  17. Certainly a right back. Try and sign Leitner and Reed. We will need another AM and cover for wingers. You have Watkins/Jarvis there when neither are actual cover for wingers. We many need to spend a fair chunk on a striker. Fundamentally we haven''t scored enough goals, can we risk selling a decent Championship striker and taking a punt on another Srbeny? We will have to replace goals scored by Maddiosn and Oliveira - that''s a lot of goals we have lost, and its made worse by the fact that we haven''t scored a lot full stop - I''m guessing those 2 players are probably responsible for around half our league goals?
  18. Is it mental more the physical? A few weeks back Sturridge went down injured for West Brom - I seem to remember on TV they questioned whether if he is that mentally shot from so many repeated injuries that as soon as he feels a slight pull his brain thinks its worse than what it is. I wonder if its a similar thing with Jarvis - he is probably desperate to play football again but he just cant do it mentally? Feel sorry for him to be fair
  19. Basically the new offer is nowhere near the same financially as what he has at the minute. Thats no surprise. Would anybody take less money than what they are getting at the minute, especially when they can probably get the same elsewhere?
  20. So today is the day. What do we expect? Effectively the club asking fans to fund a Colney redevelopment?
  21. I suppose if wanted 3 at the back we could go 3-5-2 instead of the 3-4-3ish we were playing a few weeks back Something like... Gunn Zimmerman - Hanley - Klose Pinto - Leitner - Tettey - Maddison - Lewis Srbeny - Oliveira Obviously you would be relying on full backs to supply all the width, but you could have Oliveira dropping short and Srbeny getting into the box
  22. Probably have a lot more chance of promotion than we do. And Birmingham & Hull both have basket case owners
  23. @TCCANARY There is also a guy who was banging them in for one of the worst teams in the league who was available on loan in the window, and is now starting to score for a team chasing Automatic Promotion. However, his attitude makes Oliveira look like a saint...
  24. ''We need to stop worrying about losing possession, and get the ball forward and into the box much quicker. Not hoof ball, but certainly not tippity tap around the middle with the ball pinging back and forth like a pinball'' Nail. On Head. A ball into a channel for a winger to chase for example. I don''t care if its over hit, or the defender gets it first, at least we have tried to get it forward quicker. At the minute the emphasis seems to be keeping the ball with balls to feet, hoping that suddenly the opposition will commit 1 or 2 bodies to chase it out of position when that clearly wont happen
