  1. What was it that happened to Ian Butterworth? Wasn't that "Non-Football Related"?
  2. 5th October 1968. NCFC 1 Hull 2. It's been downhill since then.
  3. I have very happy memories of Holt Hall. The Norfolk Youth Club Service used to run International Camps there every summer. In 1975 I met a girl from The Netherlands who. nine years later, became my second girlfriend. I hope they call it "The James Dyson Sucks to the End" Centre.
  4. At the Leeds game I didn't notice that we had a midfield. As soon as an attack broke down they were on the edge of our box. Can someone explain to me the way we are being set-up. I keep seeing that we play with our fullbacks high up the field, a bit like wing-backs, but we are also playing two wingers, so surely that means that we've got two wingers on each wing, with fewer people in the box to get on the end of any crosses from the wings. Doesn't that also leave our backline exposed - I'm not aware of the wingers dropping back to cover for the fullbacks, or certainly not enough. It seems to me that we are desperate for a Tettey type player, and the Mayor is not that player.
  5. There's an element of alliteration, and maybe a touch of assonance, but at no time, does it rhyme.
  6. That's an interesting question, and I think the answer might be not now. I have called the actions of Hamas "horrific" and I have done nothing to indicate any support for Hamas, and on 7/10 I might have waved an Israel Flag, but the Israeli Government's response since then has been disproportionate and indiscriminate (in my opinion), so I would not wave an Israel flag at this moment. I actually like Nutty's suggestion in that if there were a way to show support for Peace between Israelis and Palestinians I'd take it.
  7. I don't understand . At the moment it seems that anyone can choose to be offended ( or worse) by anything. I cannot see a Hamas flag in this picture, but i can see a lot of Palestine flags, and I, for one, would be proud to wave such a flag to register my opposition to the actions of the Israeli authorities in Gaza. This does not make me anti-Semitic, but it would suit some people to imply that it does. What Hamas did was horrific, but their actions did not occur in a vacuum, and the Israeli Government(s) have contributed to this situation, and the current government may even have allowed what has happened. How far back do we go? Personally I blame the Romans. And while we're at it, don't fall for the faux outrage at something Kier Starmer said erroneously a few days ago. Don't forget that 80% of our print media is owned by non-dom billionaires, who will stop at nothing to try and keep the Tory Party in power.
  8. I'm sorry, but he did nothing after he came on, apart from highlighting how thin a squad we have. This was the opposite of a midfield battle - it was all out attack, and had we got a midfield we might have salvaged something from this.
  9. I think we'll lose to Leeds by a tight Rugby score 0-3, or at worst 0-6 and the Rugby by a cricket score.
  10. When I was a child there was a shop in Soham known as "Des Boys", which seemed a bit odd. Years later I heard that a local girl had married a Frenchman and it was really "Des Bois".
  11. Because it is his job to know and understand the "Offside Rule", and both here and in our game at Southampton he has shown that he believes that if you are on-side you are therefore offside.
  12. Therein lies the problem. The words "top referees" and those names should never be in the same sentence without another word, such as "unlike" in-between them.
  13. VAR needs a complete reset. The whole industry needs to get around a screen and agree how VAR is used, and how VAR decisions are reached I believe that the cameras used for offside decisions need to take more shots per second, to increase the accuracy of photographs. The players all wear the technology to map their movement around the pitch. How about revising the offside rule so that it relates to the centre of the player's torso and use this location data. Hooper was only shown the still shot of Jones' boot impacting the Spurs player's leg, which looked terrible, but the whole sequence shows how his foot slipped off the top of the ball - it was an accident, it was not deliberate and not malicious - so yes give Jones a yellow for not being in full control of his movements, but don't upgrade it to a red. Hooper had no choice, because the decision was made for him. This reminds me of when Emi was sent off against Burnley at home - the ref was only shown the footage of Emi's revenge on Tarkowski (?) and not the violent provocation beforehand, which probably should have seen them both sent off.
  14. From what I saw on MOTD this morning, we need to be trying to get someone from Brighton's recruitment team and not Manure's.
  15. We had our bid for him rejected on Transfer Deadline day, so went for Hwang.
  16. I'm sure I've seen a line-up where they're all named Kim, but it may have been a joke.
  17. I was merely attempting a poor gag, in that the original post had been autocorrected from "waist" to "waste", suggesting that tackling was from the Gluteous maximus downwards.
  18. Tackling below the waste really doesn't leave much of a target, does it - it's legs only.
  19. Hmm. From some angles it looks like he shoves Josh in the back, causing him to fall badly and sustain the injury. More than bad luck in my book.
