  1. Thanks, and I can see where your coming from, but no I had the privilege of sitting next to one of the more senior players.
  2. Warning - First time poster. While I can''t clarify the original posters story, I can say I was also lucky enough to attend and sat next to one of the players, and a player that is actively involved in the team. Now I''m not mentioning names because A. he was polite enough to answer my many questions honestly and I wouldn''t want to get him in any trouble and B. I''d hate for the club to stop the players attending and sitting with the sponsors. however, I can say that my player was also fairly free with information, and non of the squad were allowed to drink, so it wasn''t a case of letting slip after a glass of wine. I wont post everything as his identity would be revealed but some interesting things mentioned were: Lambert would quite often throw tactic boards and smash plates if things were not going to well, he wouldn''t let the players drive sports cars, as he didn''t want the wrong image for the club hence a lot of 4x4''s in the car park. He also confirmed what we all knew, and that Lambert was not involved in talking through or discussing tactics, and that Culverhouse did it all, with Lambert just motivating before they left the dressing room. He described him as the best Manager at making you believe in yourself. He also said that none of the squad ever knew where they stood with him, and that your place in the team was never safe. Said that the players never knew he was leaving until they saw it on sky like everyone else. Talked about Holt, and that just because he had been a club legend, it didn''t mean his place should have been safe. He talked about Hughton being one of the nicest guys in football, and the squad really wanting to do well for him, and did concede that the defeat at Fulham last season was down the fact the players still had Lamberts mind-set trying to play Chris''s tactics, and that while we didn''t score as many, it was the clean sheets and defensive improvement that kept us up. I think the thing that surprised me the most was when he talked about Karsa being Lamberts "best mate" and that really he was just around to do things Paul Lambert didn''t want to do!! Funniest bit of the night, was when Russ Martin walked onto stage, the player said "oh no, Russ is up talking next, I''m off to the gents for half an hour" he just came across like a really genuine guy. So all very boring, and no real excitement, but I do believe JR might have mentioned transfers, the player I''m referring to had no problem telling me about how he arrived at CR, how we had bid for him previously, the terms of his agreement with his old club, the fee etc, speculation about him since he''s been at the club.
