  1. Well, the writing was on the wall, it doesn't take a genius to see Webber had already mentally left. I wish him well, overall a decent job.
  2. The biggest problem is he is Sporting Director, entirely entitled to his own opinions but in his capacity as a Director this was a car crash statement. Unprofessional, disrespectful and frankly I'd slam him with a misconduct warning. If the club and investors have anything about them then Webber will be gone very soon.
  3. I disagree, one is a performance issue and the other a conduct issue. How can the board even begin to condone his comments? As a minimum the board should strongly warn him about his conduct and we all know how Webber is likely to respond. He heads up a football club and basically alienated half of the potential supporter base. Not professional, foolish and clearly proves it is all about him. I actually like Webber, in many ways he's done a fantastic job. But this demonstrates just how much his eye is off the ball. I suspect he'll be gone very soon. Tick, tick, tick.. OTBC
  4. Interesting views. I have just read the comments regarding Women's football and the backlash that has began. I think the interviews may be his last, he's clearly frustrated and his petulance was worrying enough and that was before I heard his comments regarding the Women's game. I'd be shocked if Webber is still in post by this time next week. Very poor judgment, terrible optics and the board will be rightly alarmed!! OTBC
  5. I've made time to watch the Stuart Webber interview a couple of times and I'm a little disappointed to be honest. I don't disagree with much of what Webber says however I feel the interviewer failed to press Webber at all and it was little more than a tick box exercise. I also feel that whilst Webber should be proud of lots of what he's achieved during his time here, he is a little petulant. His remarks such as (to para phrase)' People in my job don't speak to the media' and 'Write what you want about me, I don't read it' and ' 'if you think that you aren't educated in football' were poor, very poor. He's slowly becoming a PR liability and unless he's careful could end up making a difficult transition for the club a nightmare. I also would like to see the reporters such as Paddy sharpen their pencil and to more readily question and challenge Webber.
  6. Hey guys, I've finally relocated back to the fine City of Norwich after leaving here as a small child! Sadly, my car is making knocking noises when I turn and I suspect the ball joint has gone. Can anyone recommend a decent garage that is reliable and sensibly priced. Thanks! J OTBC
  7. Ethics!! Hilarious! The Newcastle owners passes the 'fit and proper persons test'. Do you actually realise the world we like in. Footbsll, like everything is utterly f___ed! Enjoy! 😀
  8. We just need to make it to the tunnel, then come out flying again! We cant sit back against a talented and powerful Palace attack. OTBC!
  9. He's pretty awful, would prefer to see Micky in goal - Gunn is heart attack material! My heart!
  10. Fab start! Pukki!!!! Something to protect now! Really want Gunn to have a monumental game! Gunn between the sticks still worries me 😬 OTBC
  11. It's her club technically, and hate is a very strong word. I suspect you may not be real, maybe just a penis with a keyboard.
  12. Binner or not, the problems here at City sitting bottom of the EPL are trivial to most clubs in England. That's why most fans enjoying seeing Norwich whipped!! We're a medium sized club trying to scrape by in the top tier, very few manage it long term, West Brom, Sheff Utd, Fulham, Derby, Middlesboro, Cardiff, Swansea... on and on this list goes. There are exceptions that sustain a reasonable stint in the league, Brighton, Wolves but they are rare. What do you, and many others, fail to understand? I've asked before, give me one good reason why we deserve to avoid relegation??? Just one. Oh, Jordon is a bell-***, always has been, however, his comments on this occasion are justified. OTBC
  13. Wow, you really think a business will just 'not notice' £15 Million. Are you actually serious? 😂😂😂
  14. You'd have to pay me to go to Stratford. What a sh** pit! Enjoy! 👍
  15. The objective of all businesses is to deliver value and return to its shareholders, even in football, not to splurge ££££££ they have no hope of ever seeing again. No investor would want to stick any amount of money in a football club without having a clear exit that delivered a healthy return. Unless their investment was pure vanity of course.
  16. Well said! Anyone with half a brain cell would be applauding the club's financial miracle and sound management. The same people screaming for billionaire owners to throw cash around are the same that were outraged when the 'Big Six' wanted to do a breakaway league to, guess what, generate more money!!!! The stupidity of the 'average' fan is shocking!!! (slams head off desk)!!👍
  17. It depends whether said argument has any substance or is pure emotional drivel. But I get the point 👍
  18. Ricardo is a legend on these boards and I have, for years enjoyed his post-match write ups - Respect indeed! On a side note, loyalty can hide a lot of things, including stupidity.
  19. Seriously, the comments from most on here are so naive and ridiculous it is actually frightening. The complaints and frustrations I understand, the embarrassment I get, the lack of 'perceived' effort from some players I kind get too. But, what did you actually expect???? Any bookmaker, pundit, journalist, sports finance professional or anyone with a relatively sound grasp of reading data would tell you the we, Norwich City, were favourites (or joint favourites) for relegation. I accept we should be doing better, and transfers have been, largely poor. But, be brave, tell me precisely why Norwich City shouldn't currently be in the bottom three? Anyone? Anyone? There is no reason.
  20. Given the 100's of variables at play, the odds of a human being being purchased, put into a new team and performing week in, week out without any deviation are highly unlikely. If it were that simple you'd be running the club.
  21. And there you have it. It is not a gap between the top of the Championship and mid table premier league. It's a gulf! Look at the average squad values and wage bills and tell me we can compete? Then tell me 10 Championship teams that could compete. You;d struggle to find 1.
  22. Emi was given the ball by every city player, just like Grealish. His stats are bound to be high, if not misleading. 1 goal and 2 assists so far this season. A very good player yes, jesus, no! And where is Emi now? Hmmmmmm
  23. I am so bored of hearing fans cite the Emi sale all these months later. Emi actually wasn't that great the last season we were in the Premier League. Cantwell and Pukki were far more impactful that year. Emi really hasn't been that great for Villa this season with 1 goal and 2 assists in a far better side that we were ever likely to be. Selling Emi, a player who requested to leave 12 months before was pretty good business and has zero bearing on where we are today. Delia has been a good enough owner to oversee some of the best football City have played in the recent era and we have enjoyed much on field success. Webber has transformed this club, we will only appreciate the rewards the off field planning and development will bring in the years to come. Youth development has been superb and the only criticism I have of the club comes down to player recruitment. On balance we have had too many gambles and with financial restraints we were never fishing in the same pond as 80% of the Premier League teams. But we should have done better. FFP rules would make it almost impossible for a club of our current stature to compete even if we did attract some Billionaire who wanted to burn cash. That's the conundrum, under current rules, how do you grow a club that is unlikely to win silverware to a big enough size to begin to compete? Answer? It takes years, and years, and years, some good fortune and a few more years. That is what we are doing. Stuart Webber knows far more about this than you or I. So, get realistic and enjoy the ride 👍
  24. Typical moronic football fans questioning the integrity of someone like Delia smith rather than the Premier League and the Elite clubs. Football is a truly disgusting sport, the game is beautiful, the rest disgraceful. The examples are everywhere, starting with FIFA. But if you really couldn't care less where the money comes from or who owns the club then protest! Wave a little banner, beg for oil money, blood money, drug money, whatever. I am amazed you have time for such ridiculous petty tripe. Or better still, go support another team, I mean, football really isn't that important in the grand scheme of things. Jeeeees 😉
