  1. Yep, they beat them 2-1. Average number of goals per game (as in the total number in the game, not the number scored by Norwich).
  2. My form's not much better, but I did at least get back to winning ways last weekend. For the six, I'll pick S****horpe to win away to Bishop's Stortford in National League North. Although S****horpe aren't on the best of form, they're still second in the table, and Bishop's Stortford have lost 12 games on the bounce. Odds of 1/3 look ideal for an acca. As for the City match, the 'double result' of Draw/Norwich is 3/1... could see Rotherham digging in and it being a frustrating 0-0 at half time, before our class shows through towards the end.
  3. I'd be civil, but not everyone would. This is the reality of the internet.
  4. Obviously it's the same on both sides of the divide. I'm in my mid-40s and I hate Ipswich as much now as ever, it's just the way I'm wired. I've got friends and family who are ITFC fans and obviously it doesn't cloud my judgement of them as people, but I hate the club with what I recognise is an unhealthy intensity. Anyway, I'm sure you'll get some decent chat on here if you remain conciliatory and are prepared to ignore the haters... but if you keep talking down to people and adopting a confrontational tone then you deserve all the stick you get!
  5. You are not entitled to any civility if you post on the forum of your bitter rivals. We've had a few blues on here over the years who have been genuinely fair-minded and non-confrontational, and even they got a lot of dog's abuse from some of our posters. Tough sh*t, it goes with the territory. I would never want to post on an ITFC forum, but if I did, I'd expect pelters no matter how civil I was.
  6. Really insightful, thanks for sharing. Let's hope the Batth/Forshaw/Barnes/Duffy/Hwang signings were just an aberration, and we can go back to truly investing in this pathway.
  7. Yep, this. Much as I detest them, and get irritated by the little bawbags coming on here to rile us up, it's not luck. It has a lot of parallels with both our Lambert era and especially our Farke era, when our fitness and self-belief would almost make late goals a fait accompli as the opposition knew what was coming as much as we believed it was going to happen. It's also reminiscent of our Lambert/Farke eras in as much as you look through the squad list and there are no 'big names' in there, and plenty of hungry players who have worked their way up to this level and achieved beyond their perceived ceiling due to being in the right place, at the right time, under the right coach. Momentum is an incredibly powerful entity, and it works in both directions. If they do go up, that momentum is highly likely to stall as they get sucked into the Burnley/Sheffield United/Luton vortex. And if they don't, it's likely that McKenna will go elsewhere along with a couple of their best players.
  8. You've literally just won a home game and the first thing you want to do is come on a Norwich City forum? Strange little man.
  9. Every time this gets trotted out, I am contractually obliged to remind you all that the manager on the right is not Chris Wilder, it's Ham Saladeyes.
  10. Hi folks. My form has fallen off a cliff of late, but to me, Aston Villa to win at Luton looks great value at 3/4 (William Hill). Luton had to play Man City last night, while Villa got the midweek off because they're out of the FA Cup. As for the Norwich match, how about a cheeky little wincast of 3-1 Norwich and Sargent first goal at 65/1? Good luck, everyone!
  11. No denying that we were rubbish, but he was still a cut above. I remember loads of fans moaning about signing a washed-up old journeyman, and then eating their words when he was consistently the best player on the park.
  12. Dion Dublin had a couple of excellent seasons with us at the end of his career, but you're right that successful 'big names' are generally in short supply.
  13. OMG I thought we were finally done with the ridiculous claims that we paid £7m for Yanic Wildschut...
  14. I'm away to Spain. Despite Atletico Madrid's midweek jaunt to Milan, I think they should still be far too strong for rock-bottom Almeria, who are yet to win a single match this season. Odds of 8/11 look extremely appealing to me. As for the Norwich match, odds are pretty much even at 6/4 each for the win. Given our recent form and the fact Blackburn had to play in midweek, I fancy us to win. Norwich to win and BTTS is 7/2, which looks good to me. Very best of luck, everyone!
  15. Another star on the badge for that!
  16. Are we sure he's not just a very, very, very deep-lying centre forward?
  17. I'd say that's a little disingenuous. Anyone who had travelled to QPR would tell you that his substitutions that day were a direct contribution to letting them back into the match at a point when we were totally in the ascendancy. I was fuming at the time and fuming afterwards, we really did chuck two points away that day. Obviously in the context of our recent run it's totally forgiveable, but it was still two dropped rather than one won in the context of the match.
  18. I already posted one to this tune: Oh, Borja Sainz, he's a wizard on the wing, he's Borja Sainz He's magic and Spanish, he makes defenders vanish, Oh, Borja Sainz, he'll skin you every time, he's Borja Sainz
  19. Yep, same... it was a clear one. It's in the blind spot, though... if it had been a mirror image with Stacey, the lino would have been right there to see it. As I said in another thread, the offside might have been against McCallum from the original diagonal, as you can't see that on the highlights when the ball is played. Would be surprised if the lino had erroneously given Barnes offside, they don't usually get them that wrong.
  20. I agree totally that the club were right to stick with him! He looked like a dead man walking a couple of times, after the Plymouth debacle, again when we lost at home to Blackburn, and then even after the Millwall defeat he was still on thin ice. I just don't think he's the right man to take this project forward, personally, and I don't think Ben Knapper does either. But if he's still here next season, I'll find it a lot easier to get behind him than I would've done a couple of months ago.
  21. Good question. One presumes Shipley is as he's been mostly playing at LB, not sure about the others though. Anyone know whether any of Hills, Warner, Tomkinson or Adegboyega are left-footed?
  22. If Wagner gets us up then absolutely he deserves a crack at it. If (as is more likely) we stay down, I would prefer that we roll the dice.
  23. Different style of football, granted (well, very different to Farke's style, at least). I still haven't forgotten how woeful we looked, though; still smarts when I look back on it.
