Raises the same old questions though. Why was Klose not playing over the past few weeks? What do we do with our strikers in training as neither looked like scoring tonight. What has Hoolahan done to suddenly be the least desirable attacking option? What is the point of Mulumbu? He wanders around the pitch like a drunkard. Why does Alex Neil wait so long before making substitutes? We need a fresh start. I want AN to do well but I''m sure most people on here feel like it''s just not going to happen.
We need a fresh start. Alex Neil's treatment of Kyle Lafferty
Footy Bloke replied to Keith Scott's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Lafferty can score goals...We need a goalscorer! Lafferty scores goals at international level...and we need a goalscorer! Nothing more to say! -
The look on his face when he scored his goal yesterday spoke volumes regardless of the reason! He looks to me as though he has that desire to prove to AN that he can do a job for the team. The chance came and he scored...what more can the bloke do? Add him to Louis Thompson who should start the next game and maybe just maybe we could be onto something. Thompson''s direct runs into the box gave the Leeds defence something else to think about. For once we had a player who utilised the space in front of him. Over to you AN! And just so you know I watched the Leeds number 2 run unmarked (past Pritchard) from his own box into ours to cross for their second goal. My point being that our although our defence are somewhat underwhelming at tge moment the bodies in front of them (and behind them) don''t help. Defensively clueless at times!

Lafferty hasn''t been given a good run in the side! He was played out wide when he first got here! Regardless of his off field antics Lafferty has scored goals at international level but allegedly he''s not good enough to play for us!!! Give him a run in the side and if he doesn''t perform then fine we can all have a moan but you can''t judge him on a couple of substitute appearance''s in the first team and playing in a second string eleven.

McGovern to Stay Betwixt the Sticks
Footy Bloke replied to Jools's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
McGovern''s been perfectly OK - two clean sheets prove that. For the intensity of a local derby I wouldn''t be surprised to see Ruddy recalled...
McGovern has played in the European Championships so I honestly don''t think Norwich v Ipswich will bother him. -
Not joking - it''s all about opinions. I do think Ruddy has more of a presence. What did Rudd do wrong, clearly he is not solely to blame for the defeat, he hardly had a blinder if 5 went past him. Goals are whizzing past him at the moment and it must be denting his confidence. If Ruddy had been letting this many in everyone would be screaming for him to be dropped. I''m not blaming Rudd for the defeat, but I would take him out of the firing line for the more experienced goalkeeper. I make no mention of the "defence", rest of the team, tactics or selections - I just think Ruddy is worth a start. I am making a presumption he is fit and motivated.
Denting his confidence??? The goals were nothing to do with him! It won''t dent his confidence! If Ruddy starts next week only then Rudds confidence will be dented! Rudd has good technique and he looks comfortable. It''s the defence that will end up denting his confidence. I wish everyone would stop treating him like a child. He deserves his chance cos he''s waited long enough. Judge him on the work he does and not the players around him!
-
Please tell me you are joking!!! Ruddy has more of a presence??? How many goals were Rudds fault and what did he do wrong? What could he have done better? At half time Klopp must have said "Target the centre backs!" Enough said! It was the back four as a collective unit who struggled ....Especially the CB''s.! Redmond looked slow to close down when the ball was wide for the first goal. (He looked lazy and scared to challenge for the ball at times) then the Liverpool player had too much time in our box. Again the Liverpool player had too much room to pick his spot for the second. The less about the other three the better so yeah replacing Rudd for the next game would be a great move! And where was Ryan Bennett???

Lafferty - this season's Becchio?
Footy Bloke replied to Katie Borkins's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
If Lafferty was such a troublemaker then why didn''t go out on loan to Leeds? Time to give him a go. DM has been the only striker who''s looked the part. As I''ve said previous you can''t judge Lafferty until he''s had a chance. On paper he''s a goalscoring international striker who''s goals have helped N. Ireland qualify for a major European tournament. What''s Grabban done? -

You can''t judge him if he isn''t given a decent run in the team. Doesn''t matter if he''s the worst trainer in the world as long as he can put the ball in the net who cares! Unless AN has something up his sleeve for January then why not give a ''confident in front of goal international goalscorer'' a chance?
So a manager should play a player for "a decent run" to show the fans why the manager doesn''t play the player?Help me out with that logic?
Well there we go then! Lafferty - this season's Becchio?
Footy Bloke replied to Katie Borkins's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Sorry Bor but quite a lot of difference between Lafferty and Becchio.. - Lafferty started off really well for us, showed a lot of strength when running with the ball and also linked up neatly with Hoolahan - He was also always played out of position - His goal scoring record internationally has been very impressive - He came on against West Brom in the cup and scored a top quality goal, before forcing another - Our other strikers are hardly bossing it at the moment I''m not advocating in any way that he is the answer to our problems, just don''t see the harm in throwing him on after 65 minutes and seeing how he does or giving him a start one game. Much like we saw in Grabban starting the last 2 games completely out of the blue, what on Earth had he done to warrant a start? I''d much rather us take a gamble on starting Lafferty up top than Grabban! A lot of neutral friends have also questioned why Lafferty never plays. Of all the things you can nitpick our fans for moaning about wrongly I''d say this is probably the most understandable.. I personally think there must be some kind of attitude/off the field problem.
Thanks mate! 👍 I''m not saying Lafferty would be the answer but he''s worth a go. -

Would be nice to find out!!! Grabban offers nothing different imo. Can''t rely on Jerome all the time. DM is doing ok so give Lafferty a go! An international striker who looks confident in front of goal! Worth a ''Gamble'' would you say?
