    Are we in a stronger position than last time we went up squad wise? Maybe.

    The big players from last time were, Pukki, Buendia and Skipp. Buendia and Skipp would leave before the season and Pukki wasn’t as effective without the other players (although did his best).

    I would argue Sargent is a more complete striker and more useful in the premiership than Pukki. Rowe is a better overall prospect than Cantwell. Sara and Nunez have the potential add a sprinkle of quality.

    Then there is Tzolis. He’s had a banging season out on loan. Could he add a new dynamic? We don’t know, all we know is he’s older and more confident this time round.

    Gunn, McClean, Dimi, Gibson are more aware of the task in hand.

    We need to plug gaps in defence and midfield but I don’t think we are in a worse position squad wise.

    We’ve had spirited away performances before, we’ve also crumbled and lost games we were leading. It’s the inconsistency that means we are mid table. I’m glad you are optimistic, but for me, there is no reason to believe this is the Norwich way going forward, when we have seen so many different (or indifferent) Norwich’s this season.

    Ben Knapper shouldn't make it past his probation. I understand Rome isn't built in a day, but the way he has allowed things to just drift, no communication, seemingly given up on this season and expecting the fans to just turn up is naive. He is out of his depth.

    I'm loving these comments about Webber still pulling the strings at the club.

    You wanted him gone, he was the barrier to success and needed to be removed, now things are worse, the only reason this could possibly be the case is if...... Webber never left of course.

    It's verging on manic hatred now. Ben Knapper has the job, has communicated absolutely nothing, seemingly a rabbit caught in the headlights when it comes to changing a clearly broken first-team.... and its Webber who is the problem.

    The debt situation has been addressed by Mark A numerous times now. It is not a significant issue and if opportunities are there, money will be found. We were never going to get expensive incomings, doesn't mean we won't get someone who can make a difference.

    And some of our most revered players didn't do it at other clubs. Hucks by his own admission didn't have a good time at Leeds, Roberts and Wolves weren't a good fit. Holt needed to drop a league or two to get back on track. It's not always a clubs fault a player doesn't do well.

    No his record in his last three roles have been very similar and not very good. Simply can’t adapt. The team he put out yesterday was bonkers. Needs to be gone over the international break.

    It’s a non argument that we should keep him because no one else would want the job. I don’t think that is the case anyway. We are in a relegation fight with this manager, we simply need a clear change even if we have to go down a short term solution.

    His teams defend from the front and Sargent in particular is very good at this. Barnes is clever and orchestrated the press as well. If both don’t get injured then we are in the playoffs right now imo.

    That said, you are never going to be injury free and to not have the ability to adjust is on Wagner. I understand the criticism of recruitment. The last minute signings aren’t much help to how Wagner plays.

    No one has brought this up so I'm sure I've missed something, but Attanasio is charging a much rhigher rate of interest on the loan than others who have no affiliation with the club. Is this him taking the proverbial because we are desperate? Surely this is counterproductive because the less money we have to spend on wages etc the less likely we are to secure promotion which is where he wants to be?

    I think there will be a lot of people who will forget the initial years of success in the role and focus on the last few seasons, which have seen a number of mistakes. 

    It will be a mixed legacy in my book...

    1. In his first few years, his no nonsense drive for better standards saw the facilities and academy set up improve in a major way. Knapper has 99 problems but facilities ain't one.
    2. He defined a footballing philosophy and brought in the Farke to deliver it. His use of German markets in recruitment was very successful.
    3. Under his stewardship, we saw probably the most joyous season in the last 30 years IMO.
    4. Post Brexit, his proactivity in setting up operations in South America has and will reap dividends.
    5. The recruitment in Premier seasons was very poor. I understand it is hard to spend beer money in a champagne bar but even with that in mind, he gave Farke a poor set of cards to play.
    6. Once his methods were questioned, his behaviour became childish and in some ways cowardly. The no nonsense approach became more of a hinderance after this point.
    7. The football philosophy left with Farke and it is hard to see consistency in approach in the last two seasons.
    8. He previously sold players at good prices but this last season has seen some fire sales and selling at the wrong time.
    9. His exit from the club has been bizarrely drawn out but it's hard to tell whether that is a board problem or a Webber problem. He leaves the club in crisis, if he takes the credit for the Farke years, he ultimately has to take substantial blame for the current predicament.

    I found this website showing all players and their wages. Notably the recent senior players we signed are all on much bigger wages than our regular existing players. Duffy & Stacey on £35000, Barnes on £30000. We are obviously paying for experience and it's a shame we are getting poor value for their wage. 

    According to capology.com, Barnes (33yrs old) is on a 2 Yr contract,  and the likes of Duffy & Stacey both on 3yrs.  We are now lumbered with high wages for these players who we probably will not be able to shift in the future, so in refreshing the squad, we will still have these players hanging around.

     We need to play young guys like Kellen and Jaden, with I imagine, expensive experienced players as back up? Sadly, currently Wagner prefers the reverse selection.

    These wages and contracts demonstrate that Webber got lucky with Teemu and Emi, but not coming from a footballing background,  he really has made some bad decisions recruiting.

    If anything Barnes has shown he is worth every penny because the team has fallen apart without his leadership. Stacey has been OK but has dropped in form. Duffy on 3 years is a worry, he looked like he couldn't be bothered on Sunday.

    I'm sceptical about the figures obviously. We've essentially halved our wage bill since last set of accounts so it is unclear where such wages figures can be possible.

    Also you need to learn how to screen grab.

    I'm not concerned by his age. I think we have an outdated view of footballers age, from a time when sports science wasn't great and the type of tackling meant 33 year olds were fat, broken and slow. There is no reason we can't get two good seasons from him, which is ample for one of the three highly rated CB's to step up to the first team. I think they will learn a lot from him, if the comments about professionalism and character are accurate.

    I can’t see how both champions league and super league survive at the same time. Complete saturation of basically the same fixtures.

    The Saudi league has been useful for some premiership teams rather than a threat. No one who is top class and or in their prime has gone to the league and the Saudis are paying huge money for 30+ year olds that are a big name but not really the future. Good example Kante has barely strung games together in the last two seasons and helped Chelsea with FFP balancing.

    It is also handy for clubs to pick out the less committed. If you are 27 and wanting to going to Saudi, you care more about money than career so should keep well clear of.

    If you want to close down women's football teams, the best thing you can do is insist on equality of pay or sponsorship without remotely equal revenue streams coming in. Instead of essentially halving their sponsorship, clubs will simply disband the woman's team and 80-90% of the fans will shrug and move on quickly.

    Rapinoe made close to 10 million dollars last year, during a cost of living crisis, while complaining about pay. I don't think the dinner ladies and shop workers of Britain will be staging any strikes in solidarity with her anytime soon.

    What I don't understand is why now? The woman's game is growing well, participation is growing at grass roots, 8 million people watched the Final in this country, professionalism, quality of player is improving. It's working being coupled with / subsidised by the Men's game, why strike out at an imaginary foe?
