  1. No I would say that McClaren thinks that he needs to strengthen his midfield. There are probably worse midfield players at Derby than Johnson, albeit Johnson is very useful at this level as we are aware.
  2. Callum Wilson is a nice player. Newcastle seem to have the same pulling power of a mid table PL side despite them being in the Championship, which is impressive but I''m also envious. I''d really like Norwich to come out and show they mean business early, unlike in the summer where were sold with "we have a top class recruitment agency doing the work for us" only to be left with the most disappointing window in a while. I''m also really surprised to see Assombolonga not do as well as I thought he would be doing this season and he signed a new contract last summer. Is he still out of the question? Our midfield does need to freshen up, but like many are expecting, we have to sell before we can buy I imagine.
  3. Bbc reported this about an hour ago. Over the last few seasons I have seen and heard many Norwich supporter say that he would be ideal for us.
  4. The last time Arsenal scored a goal as good as that it was against us :(
  5. Great to see, he''s been highly rated for a good while, let''s hope Norwich can help him to maintain that status and move his career forwards.
  6. What do you guys think would be the best result against Brentford? I know some of you might feel the need to ridicule me for even asking. However given the current state of affairs, it''s one I''m struggling to answer myself. Win -Alex Neil will hold on for at least another week or two. Draw - We get a point, however we should be beating Brentford any day of the week given our resources compared to them. The pressure will remain on Alex Neil to go. Loss - Another week of the same, plus plans of protesting against Derby. It would pile on the pressure even more and Delia and Co might be forced to act. Personally I will take a draw. I just feel if we win, we will play into Moxeys hands and I have lost faith that Alex Neil is capable of getting us promoted this season.
  7. I''m getting the impression that he will have the January transfer window to sort out the ''deeper lying issues''.
  8. In all fairness, the running of the club has made it easy to tear into them at the moment. Poor investment, the worst form in the league, one of the leagues worst defence records and no signs of any change. The January transfer window seems the clubs only hope of salvaging something, however given our record of recent investment, there isn''t a lot to fill the fans with confidence. If the board can''t see that and at least emphasise with the fans who ultimately keep the club running, then I guess the local press has a right to express their opinions.
  9. We said all summer that we needed to get rid of the dead wood. We had the perfect amount of time to bed fresh players in. What makes us think we will be able to do it in January? The new appointment of Ricky Martin? Pah.
  10. Things just keep getting worse. I know it''s The Sun, however I wouldn''t be surprised if this is true. I''m sure this is another thing which will have to be answered sooner or later, given how bitter things are between the board and the fans. In all honesty though, In modern era of football, is this a lot of money? £2m does sound like a lot to me considering he''s still a young manager with little experience on his C.V. If this is the case, then I wouldn''t be surprised if Alex is given another shot at a transfer window.
  11. The fact that we miss Mulumbu after he''s put in about 3 good performances during his whole NCFC career really says it all.
  12. I think whoever comes in, they will have to have a plan for a bit of a overhaul with our squad. We have an ageing squad who are high earners for a championship club. We have too many attacking midfielders on our books being; Prichard, Hoolahan, Maddison, Naismith, Andreu. That''s five players whilst there is only 1 position available (apart from the subs bench). We have the same predicament with our strikers. We have; Jerome, Oliviera, Lafferty and Morris. That''s four players fighting for one position. Overall that is 9 players fighting for 2 positions That''s a total waste of our financial resources and that has to be down to poor recruitment. Meanwhile we are starting the same CBs as we have been doing in the last 3 seasons and are proven that they''re not capable in the PL. Our midfield isn''t much better. Dorrans, Howson, Tetty, Thompson and Mulumbu. Since Mulumbu arrived he is only just starting to show signs of what he is capable of. Tetty is getting older (30) and doesn''t seem to get better, in fact his form is pretty poor atm. Dorrans will be 30 early next year and Howson, 29. Both of them are good footballers but both of them are high earners and currently we can''t seem to play both with an AM without looking lightweight. Everything seems to be in a bit of a mess. I think whoever comes in will need a clear vision of the future and the backing of the board. Would Gary Rowett be the man to offer that? I''m not sure.
  13. To be fair I don''t think he''s showing the form he did earlier in the season, but the rest of the team hasn''t either. Jacob did give the ball away a few times and made a few wrong decisions but I can''t fault his effort. I think Brady is someone who should come under more scrutiny, since we were all so pleased to keep him after valuing him near £20m. He hasn''t showed us that value or anywhere near it.
  14. The stream I was watching showed Delia''s reaction to the section of the crowd chanting "Delia sort it out, Delia, Delia, Sort it out". Her mum asked Delia what they were chanting, Delia replied, "Delia sort it out" and they continued to watch the game. Based on that, it showed that the message was getting to Delia, however recently she has backed Alex Neil. I just hope that her stubbornness doesn''t get in the way of her making the right choice.
  15. Of course he isn''t. His comments are starting to scream inexperience. When he first got appointed he was like a breath of fresh air, exactly what we needed, a young, hungry Scotsman with fire in his belly. Got many of us asking if could be the next Paul Lambert. Although Lambert and Neil are not so different in persona, the experience in which Lambert possesed (played for massive clubs and doing his training badges in Germany), I think shows the big difference. Perhaps the reason why Lambert was so successful with us was because he could manage match day tactics. He would make a change if things weren''t going quite right. Alex Neil said himself he knew the fans wanted to see two up front. However he continued to use the same tactic with different personnel., which he has done on numerous occasions and failed. Alex Neil clearly believes in ''winning your individual battles'' and ''leaving everything on the pitch'', however it''s obvious now that there is more than that, considering post match he said that we''ve ticked those boxes. Same tactics and same results, is Gary Rowett the right man for us? I believe we have to squad to do well under any quality management. But is his style ''the Norwich way''? From the reaction to Gary being fired on social media and Birmingham fans, it''s evident that he was highly thought of. I''d be willing to take a punt on him, besides Alex Neil was surely nothing more than a punt considering his C.V. before he got here.
  16. Come on Morty give the winding up a break. This is why most threads turn out to be a 3 page b*itch fest. I don''t have any issues with you personally, I''m just tired of scrolling through your endless debates about nonsense. Ruddy Pinto Bennett Bassong Olsson Jarvis Mulumbu Dorrans Brady Howson Oliviera. I just feel like Jacob ins''t producing his best form at the minute, although I feel it would be harsh to drop him. I''m not sure how ''match fit'' Jarvis is, but he or Jacobs brother would be the ideal replacement if Alex feels like he needed a bit of time out.
  17. I''ll tell you on Friday. To be fair, I think the team selection today was spot on. You can always make a case for Klose, but today we defended well and that could be due to the help from Mulumbu. Will we see an unchanged team vs Huddersfield? Arguably some of the players might fatigue from a busy schedule however it would take a brave tinkerman to tinker with that starting 11.
  18. Ruddy Pinto Bassong Klose Olsson Murphy Howson Mulumbu Brady Prichard Oliviera I wouldn''t be surprised to see Jarvis in contention for this match if he has managed to stay fit since Swansea. Dorrans has featured a lot for us recently and although he can take a penalty (just) he has been in poor form. I''m starting to like the look of Oliviera and I like the thought of seeing him upfront with Jerome, but I doubt AN would play 442, unfortunately. Villa will be a tough match and they know we are under pressure. I just hope the pressure doesn''t get to the players, we need a confidence boost and beating a quality team should do that. OTBC
  19. After this match we''re going into arguably the toughest run of fixtures we''ve had so far.
  20. During the week Alex Neil said his main focus was working on what Norwich are good at. We seem to be pretty good at conceding.
  21. Having looked at my post again I am aware that there are some awful grammar errors. Shouldn''t keep getting distrac.
  22. The only way for this to stop is for us fans to stop handing over our hard earned money so easily. It is possible, but whilst there is a divide and the more wealthy supporters are willing to pay, others miss out. This pricing also puts off potential new supporters who fancy coming along for a new experience. The longer this divide continues, then the sooner football will become an exclusive experience for the wealthy (I think it''s already going that way). This can be stopped, but the fans need to take action by staying at home. If everyone did this just once or even multiple occasions then the business would be forced to lower prices. I''m sure NCFC would argue that it''s just ''supply and demand'' but that is a business way of looking at it, rather than a genuine caring p.o.v. In recent times Liverpool fans were able to achieve a response and the case in the Rio Olympics weren''t so different either. Ultimately the power is with us fans, we might be divided financially but we shouldn''t be divided morally. I think this whole post has helped me decide on a dissertation dissertation. "Is football a working mans sport anymore?"
  23. Thought he put in a half decent shift considering he was in a team which lost 5-0. Is he what we need? Is Oliviera good enough to hold down his position and become an established number 9? Perhaps a better investment for the future considering promotion, Jerome''s record in the PL and Lafferty doesn''t seem to be in Alex Neil''s plans. I think £8m is probably close to our maximum budget for a striker and in the current market, i think it would be a fair deal.
