This is what I was thinking when I read CCs comment. We haven't been able to feed the Goat properly since Emi left. It's incredibly sad. I am not even sure if the midfielders we've signed and are signing are the type to play incisive through balls to him so I don't know how Smith will solve this conundrum. One thing is certain tho. Teemu won't be enjoying his time! Like the game at the weekend where Dimi had a chance to cut the ball back but instead just wanged it across the box to absoflippinlutely nobody. Teemu looked incredibly annoyed

The only issue there being that Sara is apparently not a box to bid midfielder at all. More of an attacker

Don't think he'll be like Buendia, from looking at his vids. I suppose the fact they're both South American has drawn these comparisons. He's probably not the finished article yet either and nor was Buendia when we bought him. But Sara seems more of an all round midfielder than a 10. Got good strength, shoots as soon as he sees the goal (albeit a lot of the time high, wide and handsome) got some tricks. But don't really see him playing those killer passes like Buendia did. I'm not sure his touch is as sublime either and he's very left footed 😊

I understand what you're saying but if you read what Smith said in the latest article "don't judge us on pre season" on this very website, you'll read that he isn't wanting to play a long ball game. Wants to retain position, do better in transitions etc. I mean, watching the games last season you could have fooled me! But that style of play always suits Pukki. Unfortunately what we saw a lot of last season and so far in pre season doesn't fill me with a huge amount of faith that we have the players to do that. So hopefully the new signing will help, when they are back from injuries!

I dunno. Grant Holt did pretty well. Wes was also in League One before playing in champs. I seriously think Twine has special ability. The amount of goals and assists from AM were excellent last season and he can take a set piece too. Time will tell but that looks like an excellent bit of business from Burnley to me

I think Hanley has done really well for us over the years. He's our best defender, but I think Omo would have taken that mantle, for me, if he has remained injury free last season. Arguably our biggest problem was our powder puff midfield which left gaping holes regularly. When Skipp was playing the screening role our defence looked a lot better as they didn't end up with as many one on one situations.

Dropped down from second division to the fourth because he liked what he is seeing from the team he's signed for. Ultimate cult hero? Bored of football? Who knows. All I know is that he's a top legend.

I can't be bothered to read through all of this thread. Yeah... my disillusion with the football has been coupled with me not spending much time at all on this forum. But all I'll say is.... It's only hair. If Todd comes back in we should try and get behind the lad. Braid or no braid.

Probably trying to save certain players for the (on paper) more "winnable" game against Leeds. But when I saw that initial line up I was pretty shocked.We're never very good when we try to play defensively and all that side said to Chelsea was "go on then. Just attack us all half" Was a big mistake and we were lucky not to be more than two down. All those defenders and still couldn't defend a friggin corner! Second half was much improved, with the switch in formation and Milot coming on. However we were SO bad in that first half that the bird that Rowe accidentally kicked in the head was more interesting than the game. Also had great positional sense as it sat in the end we were attacking first half and then switched ends.

PLM played two very good balls to Rashica, one of which set up that Pukki chance. But I agree that Normann will likely come in for him soon. McLean was ok, decent out of possession but not so great with it. Worked very hard, though, and that's what we need in this midfield.
