  1. Knew this lad as a 15/16 year old, incredible talent, but so were many others.
  2. Russ Martin was keen too when at MK but the budget at the time was too tight (non existent)
  3. Posh No 8, Taylor is the son in law of a mate of mine, a decent player and should be on our radar, but who knows??
  4. If we are talking Swansea, I quite liked the look of Olivier Ntcham (No. 10), always available (although it wasn't that difficult on Saturday) and can pick a pass, out of contract June 24.
  5. Without a doubt, he will be missed. I was good mates with Tony Gubba (never met Motty) and he would often share some great stories about the man and I was working in Wycombe when Motty gave the interview in the snow at Adams Park and I can confirm about a mile down the hill and there was not a single flake!!. RIP Motty
  6. Whilst I agree he made two great saves, that is what keepers are there to do, if we defended so well that great saves were not needed then we could play with a ball playing defender in goal. Alisson, Ederson, de Gea, etc. etc. all make great saves, it's what makes them great keepers and they play behind some of the best defences in the land, and they too have blunders in them, de Gea last week, Ederson rushing out yesterday. To expect our defence to be so solid as to render the keeper redundant is wishful thinking and very unlikely to happen, no mater which team you are.
  7. I find it interesting that a defender (including the keeper) makes a mistake (e.g. a missed hit pass) and is castigated, when there are another six or seven players on the pitch who miss hit passes and shots throughout the game and very little is said. It happens, obviously we would all rather it didn’t, but then I would also rather all the passes our midfield make find their target and all the shots taken by our forwards are at least on target. Grant Hanley in particular has been our saviour on many occasions and often makes last ditch/covering tackles and often, without thought for his own safety, puts his body on the line for the team. In general, and in my opinion, defenders make fewer mistakes than midfielders and forwards and typically are rewarded less, both in praise and in their pocket. Such is life I guess.
  8. Or, only see what they want to believe Parma👍
  9. Maybe a behind the scenes straight swap has been orchestrated🤔
  10. Russell Martin is a an incredibly bright individual and a deep thinker and as has been said in a previous post Swansea are playing some decent possession based football and in my opinion probably overachieving given their squad of players. However, they do have a tendency to concede early but, in their last 3 draws they went behind one nil, two nil and three nil and still came away with a point (stating the obvious I know). This I believe tells us a great deal about the man tactically and a great deal about the team ethos he has built. Is he still learning, well who isn’t, but I get the point, but one thing I do know he is a very fast learner. If Russell Martin were to be appointed I believe it would take time, would he keep us in the play-offs, who knows and it may take an extra season or two to position/prepare us as a team to potentially stay in the Prem, Does the fan base have the patience, I would hope so but I do have my doubts. For what it is worth I believe Mr Martin has a qualification in football club management besides his coaching badges, obviously no experience in club management as yet, but a very handy string to his bow. I for one would be happy if he was appointed.
  11. If i was a VIP, I would be in a LEAGUE of my own, good enough for you Harry53 Cheers
  12. Thank you cornish sam, although I was aware of that. I take in information from many sources, I find it helps to formulate my overall views. All that said, I was hoping you may have some insight into what was actually reported, no matter if you do not as perhaps you have not read the article??. Cheers
  13. You have certainly made massive assumptions here cornish sam. Perhaps, rather than assume and make personal remarks, it may be more productive to make considered comment on the information provided, or not.
  14. Worth a read https://www.theepochtimes.com/health/peeking-inside-the-covid-vaccine_4881567.html?src_src=healthnoe&src_cmp=health-2022-12-01&est=OJwLAYTbCmkmHfcX1fvpp2hN%2BsncTRDbY8eIOR66rsNhLssmzOHrpwUSTbWJjVmg5uM1hrnc
  15. Hi , littleyellowbirdie, At least we agree on one thing, we both respect everyone's right to choose👍
  16. Hi Cornish Sam, I agree with much of what you have said, all sorts of criteria can skew the figures, particularly the demographics point, however if the 'vaccine' (I note your polite request but just as politely choose to ignore it and I did not use the word 'conspiracy') did what it said on the tin, then surely the higher the percentage who have had the 'vaccine' the lower the representative percentage deaths (of total deaths involving covid). If we say (and again I know there is certain assumption here) that the deaths percentage involving covid, broadly speaking reflects the uptake then it would appear that the 'vaccine' does not a lot to prevent death?? Something else I find complexing, is why this year to date, total deaths are approx 6% higher than the 5 year average, obviously population growth could count for some of this but the growth rate is only 0.34% pa and I suspect most of those are of the younger variety. Cheers
  17. Hi, cambridgeshire canary, See the info I discovered above and I'm not too sure it prevents it, I was under the opinion it lessened the 'ill effects' although the death % above may contradict that??? Cheers
  18. Hi, By Hook or Ian Crook, I decided to research your comment "the scientific evidence suggests the vaccine is successful at reducing the death rate " and it does appear to be somewhat difficult to find much info, however I did come across some ONS data for May 2022, which showed that in May there were 82 deaths involving Covid in 'unvaccinated' people and 1282 deaths involving covid in 'vaccinated' people, in fact 1155 were deaths that had had three doses. My understanding is, and I am happy to be corrected, that approx 90% of the population has been 'vaccinated' therefore I would anticipate that the 'unvaccinated' deaths would be as a minimum 10% of the total deaths involving covid, when in actual fact the percentage was only 6.0%. I am not sure what this means but it does concern me!! Cheers
  19. Hi littleyellowbirdie, Firstly, we do not know why certain players have not had the 'vaccine' (if indeed they have not), it could be for a number of reasons, including medical, that said I agree re location, apart from the obvious link with Tampa, surely the club could have travelled elsewhere, somewhere an 'unvaccinated' player could travel to, although they may have needed to take a test before travelling, currently Spain and Portugal do not require a 'vaccine' or test. So, are we to assume (dangerous I know) that commercial interests are put before team interests?? Secondly, there is no law requiring anyone to have any 'vaccine' so I am not quite sure how any contract can enforce such a stipulation legally and does it make a difference how much someone earns when it comes to their rights?? Cheers
  20. Hi Cornish Sam, Thanks for taking the time and effort to share your info👍 Alongside continuously boosting my natural immunity, long before Covid, I have conducted an untold amount of research from both sides of the fence, which is undoubtedly a many sided fence (if that is possible??) as a result my decisions have been taken based on numerous and multi-faceted criteria, including, but not limited to, this research. Cheers Ray
  21. Thanks for your opinion Pyro Pete, not that I asked for it and you really don't know my personal circumstances, but heh ho! The 'alternative' discussion is essentially semantics and I'm afraid your points really do not make much sense to me. My point is natural medicine was around before modern medicine, so in essence modern medicine 'replaced' the existing medicine and was therefore the alternative. I hope that makes my musings clear. Cheers Ray
  22. The fact you have to ask that question explains a lot, just because someone doesn't get vaccinated doesn't make them an anti vaxxer, but I am not performing the justification dance here, I simply add, I chose not to vaccinate, if you want to you carry on with my good wishes. Cheers Ray
