1. it''s a way of fighting huge club debts (if you dont have the money, you dont buy it) and some business that may not be that legal. you can have a fund register in Cayman islands, for example, you dont know if the owners are guns dealers or drug cartels, etc... its easier to have a competitive team (best players) but I totally agree with your model...
 2. Lol..he isn''t like Crouch at all... Crouch is a typical Striker with roots inside the penalty area. RvW is more like Suarez (im not comparing the quality) in playing outside and inside the area. When I mean physical mass, is similar to what happen to Ronaldo in the beginning of United. PL football is much more physical, more contact, and to play upfront you need to have a good build. Is not tiny :p but I believe you understand what I want to say. Specially in winter season, with the pitch full of rain. low temps. sometimes snow. sometimes muddy... we dont have that kind of weather in Portugal
 3. As I mention previously. That''s a deal you need to make wih the fund. For what I can tell, no offers below 10M pounds will be accepted. around 4M £ will go for the club and the rest for the fund. Dont believe the fund will accept that kind of business (according to the player performance, objectives, etc) but payments overtime, don''t see why not.
 4. The wait for the deadline could be an advantage except you are forgetting the Fund which has 65% and they want their money. As you need to buy the full share of the player, this is atricky business. Eg. What we did with Insua, was just sell the club percentage and the fund kept their %, meaning they will wait for Atletico to buy their share or for another transfer...
 5. Good morning. Any news there? Don''t you guys know journalists or a son of the club staff?? that can provide intel about this? here it''s on a standby, as you already know, there was a primary offer that was refused. Don''t believe we are going to sell bellow the 10M pounds (12 million euros), mainly because of the Fund which has 65% of the player.   PS - As i mentioned since the first post. I came here with the best intentions. In order to know if you had reliable informations from your side regarding this business. It was just to confirm the rumours (and some are more than that) we had on our side. PS2 - First: He is a very good player. made 24 yesterday. has good skills. 2 years ago we paid 4.5 M pounds. it was a very good deal for us. But I understand the risk of paying 10M £ nowadays. If it was the other way around, I would be very sceptic about this.
 6. In fact it''s the other way around. We learn the British english in school. The issue is that unlike the spanish, italian or germans, all the movies, series, tv shows have subtitles. Due to this, we ear a lot of american english...so now imagine the mix we do. :P Basically, we join everything together, which i believe can be horrible for you guys, but it''s without any intention.
 7.
I''d be shocked if we spent anything like €15 million, which is £12.8 million. To me that wouldn''t make sense even if we did have the money. It''s 3-4 times our record fee. Surely with the players we have it would be more advantageous to buy more players with that much money, even if it''s 2 really good ones. Still, what do I know. If we do sign him some poo will come out of me.
Thats what I mentioned in my forum.the capability (without offense) of paying 13M euros...but again, united gave 7.5 M pounds for a portuguese player called Bebe and we in Portugal were" WTF?", this guy is a sh*tty player...
 8.
Ah right I see. Well if either of those teams bid the same as Norwich, then we have no chance unfortunately. Newcastle are a bigger club than us in the EPL and Fiorentina are a big club in Italy... However if we are the only ones stumping up the money then hopefully he will sign for us. Thanks for your info and help. If you har anything else, please do post on here :) (I''m awaiting acceptance to join your forum!)
whats the nick please, so i can try to accelerate the clearance with a admin or mod.
 9.
Our problem at the moment is middlefield. The part of the pitch we thought is our strongest ^^ 4-2-3-1 is a good formation, but for some reason we keep failing to stay in posession, we cant pressure enough high and we cant play the ball enought fast behind the opponents line for our strikers, so our goals come only from crosses and still ball situations. We possibly could try 3 - 5 - 2, but do we really have 3 enought good CB''s for it? Bennet - Turner - Bassong E.Bennet - Tettey/Johnson - Garrido Snoddy - Hoolahan Holt-Pilkington Could work, but I kind a doubt it. 4-4-2 is utter rubbish these days. Even if we got 2 strikers that is just too old school ^^ We would keep losing middlefield even more and by removing Hoolahan for Jackson/Morison our build up game would suffer greatly. So I would continue with 4-2-3-1 and just trying to be a bit more lively and work on long shots and passing ^^
sorry to enter the discussion but a 3-5-2 formation requires a lot of tactical training.it''s not easy to "mount" this schematic in the middle of the season....even if you have 2 great side defenders, it''s difficult to coordinate.see tottenham. even with Bale and Ekotto who are incredible fast with a lot of stamina, they don''t play with this formation.by other way around 4-4-2 is coming back. I strongly believe in it. but not the old scheme with 2 towers that dont go outside the box. that''s the old days.but with 2 pace strikers and with a diamond formation that can wave only one pure winger or without any (just inside middles) you can do pretty damage in the opposite team, mainly in their marking situations (man or zone)
 10.
what is MGTS saying? Newcastle and Fiorentina? :(
basically it''s a newspapper boxline saying: lion''s auction includes Fiorentina and newcastle.believe I''ve mentioned that previously, (we also include tottenham) but the rumours of some people in the forum is that some of these clubs are just an agent game to increase the bid and the salary conditions (and also the agent comission of course).the feedback I had from a private message in the forum was that he was going to sign for (and I quote) the canaries. But again, this is information that people receive from all around (some are more reliable than others). That''s why I''ve came here in first place. To know if you guys knew/know anything from your side...
 11.

if you keep in mind the lousy season that the club is having
Not a word you would expect a foreign gentleman to be familiar with! [^o)]
I know I''m not a native in English language but in this case it what best describes our season :( (not bad, not beyond expectations...lousy is what best describes the situation...)
 12.
Yup and thats why all these players want to come here, not cos its the best leauge but because its the money. For me the German League is the best in the world but the wages are no where near as high unless your at Bayern, maybe Dortmund aswell.
In Sporting the top salary is around 120k euros monthly and we are suppose to fight for the Champions League entrance...that''s the main problem the clubs have here in Portugal. to pay for a competitive salary. ah, and don''t forget that the taxes are almost 50%...
 13.
Thank you for your insights Polen. I really do hope we sign RvW at Norwich. The big question for you Polen, after watching lots of RvW, do you think he will prove to be a good signing for us? What can we expect from him? From the little I have seen of him in Europa League he holds the ball up well and has a good finish on him.
I''m going to be honest. the best strength he has is to be an all around striker. is not a missile running like Tevez, he doesnt have the technique of Van persie but is above average in a lot of atributes. As i mentioned in other topic, he needs to improve is aerial game in terms of attcking the ball and the headshot and to gain more muscle mass to support the physical game in the UK.you need to be patient because remember that he came from Netherlands were 4 guys defend and 6 guys attack and playing in a mid table team.then he came to portugal were Sporting has the obligation to win each game so the opposite defense defends tight pretty much the time.and now going to a different championship...he will need time to adapt.he''s a very smart player.  he combines very well with the player next to him like pass & go(dont know the word), he has good instincts. retains well the ball and hes good playing outside the box, going from the middle to the sidelines.Unfortunately Sporting is having two terrible seasons (6 coaches in 2 latest seasons). horrible team play. he basically plays alone in the front because we are playing with 2 wide wingers but the midfielders dont approach the area to compensate, so a lot of time he receives the ball and the closest guy is like 20 meters away from him...

 15.
Similar to Sporting financially.
You have some clubs. The most stronger financial are Porto and Benfica (due to champions receipt). Braga is also financially strong but on a lower level. I don''t know whats the avg salary there, but I believe wolfwinkel here in Portugal a monthly salary of 50K euros. around that.I remember a few years to see the salary paper of Reese (liverppol) and the guy received a huge amount...per week... :p
 16.
From a SL forum: Reportedly tomorrow Ricky is on his way to Norwich. Between € 13-15m. (We have only 35% of the pass - received 4.5 M) One of the best signings of the era and now godinho vai. If anything, it is admission of failure of the "project" (ever existed?) godinho. ''s time ... Terrible translation, but I think you get the gist!
Está na horaTells about Ricky going to Norwich tomorrow. between 13 to 15 m euros. One of the good assignment in Godinho (the president) era and he''s already going/or leaving (the club)If anything, is to admit the failure of Godinho''s project (if it really existed?)It''s on time ( a mention to sack the board)
 17.
How many other clubs in Portugal are similar position?
didn''t understand the question? similar to what?
 18.
At 6ft 1 and looking athletic, I can''t see it being a problem with him adapting to the more physical side of the EPL. Hopefully if he does come, he can do well until the end of the season and then work on his strength prior to the start of next season hopefully in the EPL again!!
That''s the best aproach.probably you dont know but Ronaldo was very skinny after leaving Sporting to Manchester...Even in terms of physical clash, he was always on the ground. in the next season he gain more muscle and power...his game shifted completely (to better). If you can pay only 5 million, I believe it''s going to be a bargain. trust me. but again, don''t know the issue of ownership possession.
 19.
I agree Renskay, Just been trawling through their forum and found a lot of them discussing Norwich''s bid and what''s interesting is that they believe that Wolfie is right to leave if their manager continues to play 4-3-3. They''re saying that Wolfie is best suited to playing upfront with another striker and not as a lone man up top. (Must mean our gaffer is looking to partner Holt surely?) They seem to believe that we are paying them 5million euro''s (35%) of the fee. I wonder if Nowich can agree a deal with the other parties who own stakes in Wolfie to pay it in installments? That may be how we can afford to pay it off? Anyone know any more on this?
That''s what I want to confirm. If in England, the club must have 100% ownership or if the 35% are enough...basically this means that if you need to have 100%, do you have cash to pay 14 million euros?Regarding the guys saying that he is no good to play in 4-3-3...those guys are crazy...he is good alright, the problem is the Board, the club president, everything is going by the drain...
 20.
Most of his goals have come from pens and we all know we don''t get them.
that was in Netherlands...in Portugal he has a good score if you keep in mind the lousy season that the club is having and the fact that the teamgame is practically 0...even so, he is without a doubt, the best scorer of the team.the only thing that i believe is missing is the physical side...he needs to get more larger for the premier league....similar to what happen to Ronaldo when he increase the muscle mass.
 21.
To be fair to polen he''s just posted on that forum... Either it''s been a long time planning, as he has 3852 posts.
you can easily go there and ask for whatever you want...you will be well received.I''m no doubt, if you have an interest...
 22.
your right Joanna, just saying what they''re saying... Never thought to check it. (translated below) If even £ 5M by 35%, meaning that sell for almost € 17m. Does not seem bad deal considering the poor visibility that Sporting has had. terms The only problem is the 35%, and have sold the remaining 65% cheaper. Nor do we know who will replace. 23.
Where did mention Ipswich Luc? I thought you were supported Lille? Goodnight saddo and wish you all the worst in your struggle with mighty posh et al.
You wrote Suffolk, when i''ve entered in google it appears a county with the city of Ipswich...since they are in the championship, i though you believe i was an ipswich fan...still waiting for the FB pm in order to prove that you are wrong :)
