  1. Couldn''t be happier about that score tonight, sooner QPR are done the better. Sky however seem to not want them down and neither does the ref... The commentators were desperate for a goal, it was crazy. At one point saying how fairytale Zamora scoring would be, as a player who left for money its the complete opposite. People may want Villa down but if QPR go I really do not care
  2. This was never a post looking to be saying about next season or two far ahead, I am simply saying when it comes to summer should the club then be thinking about making as much from this as possible. The main focus is of course on the rest of the season, I personally think we just about have enough to stay up and will be fine, but that is not at all why this was posted, was simply wondering others view on the financial side positively of this deal
  3. Just a thought with this signing and the clear excitement that is coming from everyone (myself included) and the timing of it all, is there not a business side of this the club need to look at? When the new kits come out this year, would it not be worth it to go the squad numbers (especially RVW''s) out ASAP as well as a special offer on a full name for him (unless one exists already). Can see this being the kind of "shirt sale" signing which many clubs take advantage of, and we should be doing the same. The only downside is it may be a sign towards other players, such as I would guess maybe give him the number 10 shirt or something, which puts Jackson even more out there in terms of less required. Don''t know how anyone else sees this but just a thought, with people going on about this three million, good if he starts earning it back as quick as possible
  4. Though to some level there is a great point and the passing was awful, a part of Southampton under their new manager press constantly and that can be one (though only slight) excuse for the extra low passing percentage
  5. I don''t post often on here but was going to tonight until he missed that penalty as assumed some would see it as an over reaction. Penalty aside he was not with it at all, I even said to the person next to me if he took it like he played it would have gone out for a throw in. He on many occasions this season has caused me so much annoyance, he is not playing like a striker can. Honestly, the reasons people come up with positives are what you would see a very low level defensive midfielder do. Today he really did not do anything of note and when it came to the crucial moments (again penalty aside) he was not running, passing poorly and standing around instead of challenging. This season he has really been poor, I certainly get why people say he is playing a different role, even when it comes to playing two strikers today there were too many times when Holt would rather cover then get forward. Again, I assume there is some form of slight role change but at the same time he is playing no where near what he can do.
  6. In terms of what I have seen this season, other then the slight bit of running to areas which was are unnecessary for a striker, there was nothing missed from not having Holt on the pitch. Playing Fulham means that hangeland is going to win arial battles 99.9% of the time and thats why Becchio didn''t win much in the air. However Holt never wins much in the air, and when he does there is a lack of accuracy (though not helped by support lacking) which Becchio was very good with his slight clever knockdowns. There was also a massive increase in the amount of delivery into the box, not because of the wingers, but simply because the centre forward was actually in the area for once
  7. considering the two chances, which yes aren''t enough, were to our supposed "best" strikers and the fact neither of them really did anywhere near as well with chances as premier league strikers should says a lot about our current attacking class.
  8. Still seems to me the biggest worry of the day was our two big chances. We had what many of here class as who should be our two best strikers both have very good chances. I know the keeper can be said to have made decent saves but how Jackson or Holt didn''t score those chances is beyond me, and says it all about how bad our strikers are.
