  1. That's one of my two criticisms answered. Although unsatisfactorily for me, but such is life. Something I didn't mention was I also didn't care for people stating 'facts' like they themselves are the arbiters of reality. Particularly when making sweeping generalisations, whether referring to individual members of the religion or the institution of it as a whole - the distinction is practically irrelevant imo. I could easily (if so inclined, but I'm not) make exactly the opposite case and write 'FACTS' after it. Anyways, it's sunny. I'm off down the pub. No hard feelings, I don't really do internet beef, because it's sh1t and pointless.
  2. They? All of them? STILL doing? You know, I'm starting to think that making sweeping generalisations about people based on their religion isn't the best idea...
  3. I'm not sure. I'm not particularly knee-jerk inclined, and I have my doubts about this season. Lots of wheeling and dealing yet to be done of course, but I was confident in 20/21. Am worried about 22/23.
  4. Todd can do whatever he likes. Including debatably-cringe stuff like this. And yes, I can comment as I have a BA in Cringiology from The University of East Cringia, honorarily awarded for my embarrassing actions between 14 and 28.
  5. And with regards to "the gays", I'll let my gay friends decide which language they're comfortable with me using. Not a football club's twitter feed. If those two align, so be it.
  6. I thought very much the same thing - I got defensive as a former Marx-admirer when hearing these accusations. However, there are - seemingly at least - a new generation, savvy with social media - that interweave identity politics alongside the economical aims of Marxism. I've met many in real life, and online. There may not be as many as you'd think given their impact, but they are sure are loud, and particularly influential, due to the new incorporation of identity politics to run alongside their economic agenda. Frankly, the economic agenda I'm fine with - I don't think it will work, but I'd give it a shot, as IMO that's a better way to address disparities between these various identity groups than more 'Tory austerity'. However, the change in the consistent message that "we're all different but are all worth precisely the same value", to "we're all different, so we're going to put you all in different groups AND treat you differently dependent on which group you belong to" can get in the effing sea.
  7. I would turn myself inside out with cringe if this happened. Please god, no.
  8. Depends what the podcast was about, and how honest & self-reflective he was in it. Could actually serve a positive purpose for both him and his potential listeners. More generally though, I think it's a dogsh1t idea. He can do that after he retires from pro football, which may be sooner than he wants unless he really gives it his all.
  9. I suppose Execution is one strategy that I hadn't previously considered that might yet yield some more positive results. Particularly if he does it with a bit of a flourish.
  10. It's all about setting fair and appropriate targets for Smith next season, so with that said: If just one opposition player even touches the ball ONCE next season at any stage of any game, I'm setting my season ticket on fire and protesting 'Smith (Dean) Out' outside the ground, shirtless, with full man-boobs exposed.
  11. Byram isn't a centre back, and why Smith insists on playing him there is another reason I want a new manager for next season.
  12. This thread is a bit civilised for my tastes, can someone jazz it up a bit - my popcorn is going stale.
  13. I always thought he was best drifting in from the left ventricle.
  14. Several. Ref should have pulled wolves up on several high challenges this game. Dirty b'stards.
  15. Dowell is one of the least athletic footballers I think I've ever seen in my life. Especially considering the size of him.
  16. I really was expecting him to strike a ball better before he arrived.
  17. Perhaps you're right, but I don't see how him throwing his toys out the pram was going to change or help anything? Is there any firm evidence regarding his involvement in the transfer process other than conjecture? I.e. statements from the club or Daniel himself? (Not that it really matters I suppose, as we won't reappoint him)
  18. Did he? Genuine question, as I was under the impression that his influence was minimal, if he had any at all.
  19. Music to be used for all promo videos relating to the new season with current squad / management team:
