1.
If they play Busquets at CB he''ll most certainly be wasted as he is a crucial player to have in the midfield
Yep, that''s swung it for me.   4-0 Celtic.
 2.

Bassong, Turner, Bennett, Barnett and Ward not even in the 25,Ayala out on loan and STILL people clamour for a full back at centre half with a winger at right back!!! Jesus wept. Martin did well at CB last season as COVER. He is still a full back. If Hughton decides that Martin should be first choice centre half I will be both amazed and surprised. Oh, and wrong!!! But I suppose stranger things have happened..
People ''clamour'' because RMartin was clearly our best central defender last season. And he is probably better than all but Bassong in this season''s squad. The issue really is that we have not had adequate cover at RB so he has been needed there - although I have advocated for the best part of a year now that EBennett has the makings of a fine RB - and we are yet to see Whittaker. The overarching issue in my mind is that we must settle on the best spine for the team. Nothing is more fundamental and crucial. So from what we have available now my thinking for the spine is: GK,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Ruddy CB,,,,,,,,,,,,Bassong CB,,,,,,,,,,,,RMartin CM,,,,,,,,,Tettey CM,,,,,,,,,Johnson CF,,,,,,,,,,Holt If Turner can really hack it and make the position his own over the next few games then fine, he will have earned his spurs (so to speak [;)] No problem. Barnett has stepped up a bit and Ward provides useful cover. RBennett and Ayala are at the moment for the future in prem terms. OTBC
Russell Martin is nowhere near the best centre half in this years squad, nor was he last year. Keep watching highlights and I''ll go home and away and make my own judgment. He did ok as cover. That''s it. Lamberts first choice centre half was......? Anyone......?
 3.

Thank you Highland. Now could you point me to where I can find Hughton''s compensation to Brum because it''s not in note 29 Contingent liabilities.
Nutty - Hughton was appointed in June so any compensation would relate to the next accounting period. It probably won''t be separately disclosed as Hughton is not a director. I guess we''ll have to wait and see next year. I accept the point that we might have expected this to be disclosed as a post-balance sheet event. I wonder if the distinction is that the disclosures made represent the transfer of players registrations which are capitalised as intangible assets in the balance sheet. I suspect that football managers even on 3 year contracts are not treated in the same way? As regards Lambert he resigned during this accounting period and the claim/counter claim relate to last season when he was employed by the club - hence the contingent asset note.
As a bog cleaning bingo caller I know I''m out of my depth in this exalted company but I''m sure I remember that the cost of terminating Gunny''s contract (£100,000) was included in post balance sheet events 2009.
Nigel, why do you try and have your say about things you clearly do not understand. It''s like reading a Smudgy ramble about football. Utterly clueless. At least you know your place I suppose bog cleaner.

 5.

Totally agree. He is an absolute monster and a key player for us this year. I''m pretty sure he is actually the best CB I''ve ever seen in a city shirt, I can''t think of any CB we''ve had that was better.
Dave Watson (England international) Steve Bruce (England B international) Dave Linighan (England B international) Dave Jones (Wales international?) Duncan "Big Dunc" Forbes David Stringer And before I can clearly remember, Butler!   Thats some competition when it comes to  centre backs!
I don''t think Jon Newsome would be out of place on that list.
 6.
I guess it''s just the differences between people. I reckon if you randomly selected 100 fans from the crowd at Carrow Road on Saturday and randomly selected 100 posters from here who weren''t at Carrow Road you''d get the same percentage of numpties. There would be a "Wiz" or "Smudger" amongst the attendees and a "Ricardo" amongst the stay at homes. That''s just the way of it!   I''m interested to hear that the booing came from the same areas that the maybe coin could have come from. Perhaps the same person is involved in both events?
I''ll have a £100 with you now that if you randomly selected 10,000 fans from the crowd on Saturday that not one of them was Wiz.
 7. If it was a coin it must have come from the away fans, no way would any of our fans be throwing money away, haven''t you seen the price of Spurs tickets?
 8.

Disgusted he was booed before KO.   Our fans are morons at times, the second a player has a few bad performances they get booed and slated endlessly (Morro last season being a good example) it helps nobody, yes Turner hasn''t had a brilliant start but he''s played more PL football than most of our squad for a reason, he''s not a bad player, infact I think him and Bassong have all the makings of a good CB pairing.   "Supporters" should support our players when they have a dip in form rather than kill their confidence more than it already probbaly is due to said loss of form.   Rant over.
Totally agree. It came from lower Barclay / snakepit direction. Whoever it was should hang their heads in shame.
I''ll second that. Probably the same contingent who''ve had their knives into Hughton since day one. Turner was woeful at Fulham and against Liverpool, but he has good Premier League pedigree. Brave decision by Hoots to go with him, but even braver from the player to turn in a performance like that. Hopefully he''ll kick on from here and the booing idiots will go back to supporting whoever it was they followed before the City bandwagon became fashionable.
What year did the bandwagon become fashionable?   I''m not a booing idiot but I''d be interested to see whether I''m classed as a "Jonny-come-lately" type. How long do you have to have been going before you''re entitled to an opinion..... /[;)] Everyone''s entitled to an opinion. Are you suggesting that booing our own players before a match is a democratic right? Genuine question. I''m delighted to see people joining the fold at any time and idiocy is not directly correlated with longevity, but I think that that type of response was unacceptable. However, that''s just my view...[;)]

Well, I suppose technically, if you pay your money you are entitled to voice your pleasure/displeasure as you as an individual see fit. There have been occasions where I have dug out other supporters for giving stick to players, normally Holt or Hoolahan in recent years, indeed at Spurs this season I had a full on row with a bloke about Holts contribution in the moments leading up to him laying on the goal. Booing isn''t the way I would choose to express my feelings but if other people do I guess that''s their prerogative. They don''t annoy me half as much as all the Jarrold/Watling Venables'', Mourinho''s, Ferguson''s and Wenger''s who sit there shouting "SWITCH IT" at any given opportunity or my personal favourite "FORWARDS!!!" normally followed by "KEEP IT ON THE DECK!!" just after we''ve lumped it, you''ve guessed it, forwards.

 10. ...the groundsman, his assistants, the programme sellers, the corporate catering team, of course my agent and a certain young lady in the burger van near the hotel. You know who you are. Thank you!!!!
 11. We were singing "You fat b***ard" at Rooney, the bin dippers interpreted this as being "You black bast***" at Joseph Yobo. Way off the mark and complete fabrication. I''m pretty sure they were the two players anyway..
 12.
Bradders was my MOM, but I couldn''t argue against anyone tbh.
You don''t deserve a say. End of.
 13. Good to a man today. Turner gave food for thought with a decent display, should have scored, great foul when viroid spun him too. Johnson and the Tea-Bag protected beautifully, Bassong was a rock and Russ and Garrido showed an assured touch and supported the attackers. Pilks and Bennett had their moments, Bennett tracked back brilliantly throughout and earned his stripes, Hoolahan was deft and clever as always but also fought hard, and, well, Holt is Holt. Legend. A lot of people have questioned the heart and desire of us under Hughton but today, they can all F O
 14. Norwich beat Arsenal 1-0. Ipswich lose to a last minute winner. Frankel retires as the undisputed, unbeaten champion of the turf. Carlsberg don''t do days, but if they did....
 15. I know a few LUFC fans and to be fair they are good guys. You can''t tar them all with the same brush, some of them are absolute diamonds. I can think of at least 3 I''d happily shake by the hand just off the top of my head.
 16. Well, it''s all about opinions Pele, I guess ours differ here. I think Kyle Naughton is a far better player than RM. And, I hasten to add, take nothing away from Cafu, he''s as solid as they come and a decent footballer. That''s just my opinion. I''m still wondering why Ryan Bennett (record signing?) is sat twiddling his thumbs, shouldn''t we be letting him, as a player with huge promise, make the mistakes that the others are making?
 17. An old man with a thing for small rings..??? Now then, now then, now then.....
 18. Nope. But did you ignore the fact that we conceded more goals per game when he did play there? He did ok but as I''ve said elsewhere, all it really shows is how much we miss Naughton and if KN was still here, Norfolk Cafu wouldn''t get much of a look in. If a change at centre half is required then play Bennett.
 19.
Ruddy E. Bennett Martin Bassong Garrido Fox Tettey Pilks Hoolahan Snodgrass Holt
Yawn....winger at right back, right back at centre half...why don''t we start Declan Rudd up front with Lappin too.
 20. Ruddy R.Martin Barnett R.Bennett Bassong Garrido Fox Johnson Tettey Lappin C.Martin   Because Hughton is SO defensive...
 21. Soft centred? If our players were as lily livered as half the posters on here they wouldn''t come out of the dressing room because it was too cold or the opposition had "bigger boys" playing.
 22.
Jamie ''Barndoor'' Cureton has scored more goals than us this season. That is hilarious. Get in there Jamie lad. Sign him up.
FFS...Get Cody back too... And Chris Killen, he''s played in a world cup
 23. We''re already down according to Baldy and half the other halfwits, if I was Hughton I''d start resting players for next seasons promotion push. Some of you lot are a feckin embarrassment. I refer you to the Hamilton days, I refer you to Jamie "BarnDoor" Cureton on a stupid contract, I refer you to Spillane and Rossi Jarvis in midfield... And things are bad now......grow up.
