1. If they turn out to be good then we will probably only have them for a season or two depending on what division we are in. A lot of players never live up to their potential though
2. I cant remember Lee scoring for us, definately Grant Holt anyway
3. It would have been too early for Smith and Adeyemi, while Martin and Spillane did need that spell at Luton. Lappin should have played more.
4.  This League 1 version is a pale imitation MITS for the last few  seasons was Premiership quality. He had the happy knack of putting in words what I was feeling . Together with a unique writing style. Short sentences.
5.
I think it is safe to say Daley''s hattrick against the against the Arsenal reserves gained him his contract, and most probably not much else helped him earn it (unless he was given it prior to that game. If so, feel free to correct me). It has been said before that besides his pace, he doesn''t have much else to his game, which is probably true.Daley will probably fail in all honesty (can''t say yet though of course). But even if he does, i still reckon it was worth a punt as pace can take you far in football. It''s then a case of building up your abilities that support that. If he doesn''t succeed in that respect it''s not a big loss to us.As for Renton it was more circumstances that have seen him faulter rather than anything else. When he was signed up he showed a lot of promise. Was running the youth team with a ton of goals, and was shown to be dealing with himself far more professionally than Martin. But, obviousy, as most know, he suffered a massive injury and that can often be enough to ruin a footballers career, especially when it involves someone of the young age of Renton.Renton wasn''t initially a mistake, he held a lot of potential, but now, truth be told, he has very little chance of making it as a league footballer. Sometimes these things just happen in football though, however unfortunate they are.I also think you need to give players like Habergham, Stephens, Smith, Adeyemi, Rudd, Steer and Dumic time to show you what the youth system is capable of.If none of them turns out becoming a regular in our side, or leaving us for 350k+, you can call the youth system whatever you want.
I agree with John. The chances are that most of the players that come from the academy will follow a similar path as Jarvis, Crow etc, but i think its good to have a manager who at least gives them a chance, as every now and then we may produce one who can add to the first team or get a bit of money through transfer. Is Bally Smart still with us? I remember him being talked about a bit a couple of seasons back but have heard nothing since
6. If he had two feet he would be really good.
7. Time after time we conceed at the back post with Otsemobor nowhere to be seen
8. He can have all 7 goals credited to his mistakes - but i cant see him playing again
9. It probably depends on whether Lambert has a decent replacement in mind that he could sign.
10. Great post. I agree with pretty much all of it. Especially that this season is make or break. Unfortunately i cant see it coming off as Lambert seems to have no money and a poor squad. It seems strange that originally 8th in the Championship was dissapointing when we are now in a position where getting out of league 1 looks very unlikely. Also agree about never replacing worthington. The managerial appointments have been shocking and have always fallen short of what was needed.
11. Hopefully Otsemobor won''t play again. If Hucks comes back i imagine he will be captain when he plays, other than that what about Holt?
12. Since Malky left and Doherty came in we have got progressively worse and lower down the football league. Obviously hes not done that single handedly, but the defence has not been solid since we got promoted.
13. People said this in the 05/06 season. I think we are in a much better position relatively this season, but walking the league needs a team to be really outstanding for a whole season
14. I don''t see the point in keeping him so long if we are not going to use him.
15. Wouldnt be suprised if it turned out a draw, like we did with Coventry in 05/06 season. If we win it will start to confirm what the pre season was suggesting
16. Its little to go by but I was impressed by what Askou was saying in the interview. Maric looks good too. Not convinced about Gill and know very little about Wiggins. Holt looks a solid choice, as does Whaley.
17. Hes done a good job in rebuilding a squad. The time taken for the players to start playing as a team together often takes time, but he has done well to get them in early, rather than waiting til august to get loan players in.
18. They don''t deserve to stay up if thats how they are preparing for the prem
