1.
I think Villa will survive but only just. I do not think Lambert will survive at Villa in the long term though
One Lambert thread is on page 258! GL
 2. Calling Australia, GL enroute to East Coast Oz, want to keep I touch with all the drama of the Prem and the Villa thrashing what do you watch and where. GL.
 3.
I''m writing for some advice on behalf of a good friend of mine. He is an avid Canaries fan both home and away. But this weekend he finds himself in a quandary. He bought tickets for himself and his wife to go to see The Stylistics at St Andrews Hall. Safely knowing that a Sunday evening couldn''t possibly interfere with his weekend football he thought it would be a nice evening out for them both. But unfortunately SKY TV took a hand and the City game now kicks off at 4pm on Sunday. Then the authorities took a hand and the Stylistic concert now starts earlier with doors opening at 3pm for a 5:45pm start. His alternatives don''t seem to be that great. He could just miss the game and do the concert. Or he could perhaps leave at halftime and be accused of being "a plastic". Or he could watch the whole game and be late for his evening out with his good lady. What would you advise because betcha by golly wow he''ll make the wrong decision?
Go to the concert and listen to radio Norfolk with an ear piece. Gl
 4.
Pity. I want the Trotters to dish out a good spanking. This considerably lessens the chance of that happening.
Mungo, a question Are you Cluck? Gl
 5.
Excellent news - now we''ll get slightly more than the pittance we would have otherwise received when we inevitably flog him in the January window. Nowhere near Premiership quality, wish him well in Championship/League One.
He has the ability to be the best player in the squad, I hear in training he is something special. Just watch this space. Gl
 6. I said weeks ago that no way would i have Lambert back, we are a Hughton team now, onwards and upwards, one-nil, one-nil one-nil. GL
 7. When i first saw him i thought his size and stature would count against him. I have seen him play twice and he is confident and agile with a good punch to clear dangerous crosses. A good standby but clearly Hughton is concerned about the length of time Ruddy is out and is looking at an emergency loan. GL
 8.
About how well we played tonight. About how Wes was the best player on the pitch tonight. How Holty was awesome and only a fantastic save stopped him scoring the winner. How the midfield and defence all but snuffed out Southamptons forwards who every one was saying would cause us so many problems. About how our unbeaten run has stretched another game. How we have got more points now than most were saying we''d have by Christmas. Unbeaten in 8 now is it? Including wins over Arse and Man U and in the quarterfinals of the cup? Did anyone seriously expect better than that? I can''t believe the negativity on here. It''s like the results and performances haven''t happened. There''s just threads criticising and moaning. I really hope the players don''t come on here and read it.
The fans of Sunderland, Villa and Newcastle will at this moment be very concerned. Loss of form and injuries to key players are taking their toll. We are starting to look like an established Premier team where we can beat anybody on our day. Hughton has found the formula for not losing and getting the odd win. Long may it continue. GL
 9.

The signing of Tettey has elevated Johnson into an undroppable (imo) first teamer.
Johnson definitely thrives in the ''sitting 2'' formation (that sounds wrong doesn''t it?!). A real beast of a player alongside Tettey.
The two CM and back four are and play as a unit and the spine continues up through Hooly and Holt. Wide players can be changed and we are stronger without Howson and Surman. How different it would have been if Surman had buried a few of his chances. I prefer the more conservative approach and the team is starting to resemble a proper well established Prem side. GL
 10.
really wish the snakepit would give it a rest with their anti barclay singing. every single week you hear it and it does my nut in. the away fans are silent, snakepit hardly been in top voice and then all you hear is can you hear the barclay sing. the loudest chants from the snakepit are always anti barclay ones too. inferiority complex.
The chant normally happens when the crowd is quiet, it''s just a bit like giving your kid brother a kick in the shins and he retaliates, we love each other really. G
 11.
Bassong or Tettey for me - cannot pick between them at the moment, both instant heroes, superb signings.
I''m going to raise a few eyebrows and say Whittaker. Early days I know I do think he will make a huge difference in our ability to stay in the Prem. G.

 14. Unless his replacement is already at the club. Seriously though he does make things happen which in this league is crucial. GL
 15. Some say that he has the potential to be the best footballer in the club, i look forward to the next few months when the fans can make their own mind up. Gl
 16.
If only life were that easy ... when someone has the temerity to question the actions of those who simply did not show up for an importnat cup game, the non-attendees raise a great chorus of "Binner". So much simpler than thinking about your shameful behaviour.mungo (lower case)
I''m a season ticket holder that watched it in the pub and saved £20. My loyalty is to myself and my non attendance was a little reminder to McNally to never take the fans for granted or squeeze those pips to hard. I hope he got the message. Too often loyalty of fans is abused by clubs. Just my little protest. Back in my normal seat Saturday. GL
 17. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of two players last night, Bunn seemed at first sight very small for Prem keeper but he certainly floats like a butterfly and stings like a Bee. Whittaker debut especially concerning who he was up against was one of the best in a city shirt for a long time. Bale shifted flanks and pestered Tierney instead. Martin will be up against it to regain his place if as i suspect Whittaker plays on Saturday. His physical presence will be welcomed against the Pullis pugilists. GL
 18.

I really don''t think last nights game is evidence of a massive turn around, nor is the Villa game which we should have won comfortably. It''s been better I''ll admit, and I feel like we have a chance of staying up now, but there is still a long way to go and the jury is still very much out on Hughton.
If i had the chance of bringing Lambert back or keeping CH then sticking with CH is a no brainer. GL
Interesting point actually, I wonder if there was a poll how it would turn out?
Can i suggest 1st Jan, by then we will be mid table and Villa will be propping up the league at which point there will be no need for a poll. GL

 20.
Always enjoy your reports Ricardo and this one summed it up perfectly. It also emphasises the cleverness of CH''s team strengthening and his tactical abilities. Bunn and Whittaker stood out, but City now have at least two quality players at all 12 positions (the 12th being the Hoolahan/Butterfield role). For the first time I can remember, injuries will be far less damaging and there shouldn''t be the need for players playing out of position just to cover and IMO this will be critical over the whole of the season.
The majority of city players look really comfortable on the ball, if only surman could cap his excellent runs with a ruthless finish. Morison needs the right ball and is less able to create so in that respect in January I would expect to sign a striker that compliments our changing playing style but who could still intimidate defenders. GL
 21.
Well I think he has a point but maybe it''s not the one he''s trying to make or the one people are reacting to. The post above is interesting because it shows that a percentage of ST Holders wouldn''t bother with this game even if admission was haf a crown with a free packet of polos. The reaction comes from Mubo Jumbo turning a reality into a criticism. Are you going Bury? I am but with a friend in the posh seats because the kids have other more horrific plans for the evening.
Surely the point is if the club priced the game at the right level they would sell out, generate more income and increase the chances of winning by having extra support. This is really about poor management choices v consumer power. GL
 22.
I like the idea Villa had of doing 4 tickets for £44 for our game. Call it £30 a ticket, or bring 3 mates for an extra £14. Think a pricing strategy along those lines would be good for this type of fixture. I wanted to go, but after paying £30 for the ticket and about £50 for the train and at least half a day off work, just isn''t realistic to watch a second string team. Now if we were going to be full strength and really going for the win it might be different.
The club has taken a massive gamble, the ideal situation would be a full house at Carrow Road driving the team on perhaps to victory and another payday. A win win for supporters and the fans. Putting short term financial interests first without due regard to supporters financial limits in harsh economics times is a bit of an own goal. GL
 23.
Seen a tweet tonight from someone who has been called by the club about ticket sales. I''ve had three NCFC texts about the game and there''s been quite a few twitter posts advertising the game. A poster on WotB who looked at the online ticketing did a rough count of 10200 still unsold in the home areas.
Same here, ST holder and no show for me. McNally needs a reality check on pricing and voting with your feet is a good way of reminding the club that screwing the fans for every penny will end in tears. The problem is of course that playing a Premiership club used to be a big deal, now it isn''t. Spurs, so what. GL
