1. My Italian friend who supports Juve was very upset we didn''t take him off their hands this season.
2. Excellent stuff, 5-1! Helping that goal difference. Still believe Sunderland can get out of it though.
3. Sunderland winning now, I hope Tottenham pull their fingers out. I think Sunderland are capable of getting 10 points from their remaining games (including the one tonight). Which means that for us to be safe we need to get 4 points from ours and it all hinges, of course, on beating Fulham. If we can do that and nick a point from one of the big teams, we should be safe on 36.
4. Here''s a radical idea, how about sticking Redmond on the right as he''s right footed and Snodgrass on the left as he''s left footed? Rather than see them stop to get onto their stronger foot and get tackled or slow down play, I''d like to see them bomb down their respective wings and whip some balls for players who have been encouraged to get into the box fast.
5. Sweet jesus! Can''t they update this forum so formatting actually works? At least let me edit or delete the damn unreadable thing..
6. Just a reminder what that pathetic excuse for a manager said about Adams when he sacked him as coach:
“They are people who will never manage a football club, they have little idea of managing a football club and yet they have a voice that reaches our supporters... It is easy being a manager when you are one of 25,000 sitting in the stand or if you are an ex-player who is now working for the media who will never manage anything better than an under-10 team, thinking he knows best - and you know what I''m talking about, and I will deal with that, trust me. I''m a nice bloke, but not always.”
http://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/adams_sacked_as_colney_coach_1_643080 I''m pleased that Adams proved him wrong, he deserves this chance. If he can keep us up it will be a brilliant achievement.
7. There''s no doubt we lack some quality. The amount of times we misplace straightforward short passes is astonishing and we seem incapable of playing a killer through ball. But I feel that''s doing most of the players a disservice and reflects more on confidence and training. I feel our squad, man for man, is good enough to stay in the league. So, for me, it''s down to Hughton and his lacklustre coaching team. He has failed to inspire the players, constantly downplays our chances by praising opponents beforehand, and, from what I''ve seen particularly this season, appears tactically inept. He is now a manager who has no idea what to do, evidenced by increasingly strange team selections and throwing Beccho on yesterday because, well, why not? He admitted himself they''re yet to "find the right formula", which seems a desperate revelation after almost two seasons of his tenure. If he can''t motivate his players for the West Brom game, which needed to be a win, then what chance does this side have away at Fulham against a team on the back of a win and with survival in sight? The board should''ve acted months ago but just throw someone in now and you might see a different team, one that may show their real ability and is liberated from Hughton''s stifling. Relegation, as McNally stated, is a fate worse than death. If we go down, it will be the most pathetic and passive slide into the wilderness that is the championship. More importantly, it could have been avoided and the blame lies with a board who are seemingly afraid to act because it just hasn''t got bad enough yet. By next week it likely will have and by then it will be too bloody late.
8. How about Redmond on the right for once? Has Hughton ever even considered swapping Redmond and Snodgrass so they can cross with their stronger foot to avoid slowing down play by having to cut in (and then, more than not, losing the ball)? I feel this would then give Redmond less inhibition to push towards the byline and whip crosses in for a counter attack. I rarely see an effective counter play at pace because it takes us too long to get the ball into dangerous areas after winning it back.
9. I actually prefer Lawrenson to Shearer and Hanson but that''s not saying much. In his latest predictions I''m not entirely sure what he bases his statements on: Lambert previously running the club from top to bottom? Hughton being just a good coach? The latter is such a disrespectful, dismissive and lazy thing to say, but completely in keeping with most BBC punditry (except Radio 5 Live, which isn''t too bad). Lawro also says the South Americans kick lumps out of each other week in, week out. You can tell he has a keen interest in the Latin American leagues. I think what bothers me is less the fact they don''t know anything but more that they assert otherwise with smug, predictably vacuous ''insights''.
10. Clearly speculation and probably of no substance but it''s still interesting to look at lesser known players doing well. He''s obviously got an eye for goal, some very tidy finishing, but it''s hard to make a judgement when the defending is so woefully bad. Total gamble, if it were true.
11. Ex-player limericks? The sooner the international break is over, the better.
12. I saw that Fulham were involved in a friendly with players not on international duty the other day. It would''ve been sensible for Norwich to have done the same to keep up match fitness at least.
13.

Tettey - Surplust to requirements by an average French side Butterfield - unproven and potentially injury prone. Whittaker - most rangers fans glad to see the back of him. ( that''s a Scottish 3rd division side) Kane - unproven teenager. Why not use our academy players? Garrido - couldn''t get a game at lazio and kept out the man c team by the mighty Michael ball. Bassong - relegated from the premier league with two clubs. Coincidence? Probably not. Bunn - pointless signing when we have two of England''s hottest young keepers in reserve Snodgrass and Turner are the only two signings that really improve out squad. Our transfer dealings in short have been pathetic for a premier league club. The least ambition in the premier league deserves to be rewarded with relegation.
Holt overweight plodder from some mid table league 2 side Ruddy played in a league 1 standard Scottish league Russell Martin, surplus to requirements at a club in a higher division. Huckerby, perennial bench warmer at man city, never going to do it for us.... Dublin, far too old, why not use the academy! Depends on the spin eh Lincoln? Idiot.
Great retort, jas. What a load of nonsense, Lincoln. I think the point of Bunn is quite clear - to allow Rudd and Steer the possibility of going on loan (which is what they need to progress) and to give Ruddy some experienced competition. My judgment''s reserved on Kane but he does sound like an exciting player, so I will give him a chance before whinging on a messageboard.
14. I do think it''s far too early to tell how anyone''s season will pan out. Maybe Villa will pick up steam and Swansea lose it? We are used to being written off or ignored and, as others have said, that suits me. I say let the BBC punditry focus on ''you''ll never walk alone'' Liverpool and ''forever blowing bubbles'' West Ham, their comments lack insight and originality anyway.
15. I have it on good authority from a mate who works at a service station near Norwich that Dave Kitson was tucking into a Double Rodeo burger earlier today. Could expect him to put pen to paper later.
16.
What makes me a troll the big pink hair?
Probably the shiny, polyvinyl chloride arse.
17. So, according to Curbishley, Hughton has said that there''s no more business to be done? Hardly convincing, I''ll wait to hear from the man himself.
18. Excellent post, a strong rebuttal to the usual negative tripe on this board. It''s important that we enjoy where we are, this is the most exciting time to be a Norwich fan in a very long while.
19. I was wondering the same. I noticed a brief bullet point on their Sportsday coverage, but no details or follow up commentary. As for the main site, nothing. Nor has today''s match preview been updated with the info. It does smack of a lack of interest.
20. I find this move a little unlikely but would be very pleased if it happened. A quality player who seems tenacious, skillful and a good passer of the ball. Could be a real inspiration for this season, I hope it''s not just pure speculation.
21. I am content with our transfer policy of operating within our means and it served us well last year. It is important to get the balance right between prudence and ambition; we want to stay in this league but we shouldn''t be risking the club''s future as others have done. One or two more players, on permanent contracts or loans, would be good to see, but I don''t think we need to be spending big money on them. I am not jealous of QPR, Soton or West Ham spending millions because it doesn''t guarantee success. Few of their signings seem to be shrewd investments, most are gambles. Swansea appears to be doing things the right way, I was particularly impressed with Michu. What matters for us is that our team evolves and plays with the same determination and spirit as last season. I think in terms of personnel we have improved upon last season.
22.

I would like to see Bassong straight in alongside Turner, who can hopefully put the Fulham game behind him. Garrido in for Tierney. Two up front as it''s clear Holt as the lone frontman still isn''t working. Vaughan makes sense partnering him but rumours persist there''s a move away lined up. Snodgrass switched to the right where he was so successful for Leeds. I imagine Hughton will stick with Howson and Johnson in the middle.
Snodgrass cannot be "switched to the right" as that is where he played (not very well) at Fulham. RP
Sorry, my mistake. I gathered he was being played centrally again from the line up I saw prior to kick off. The question is, then, where can he work most effectively? Mixed reports about his performance on Saturday.
23. The guys behind me at Goodison were hilarious! I almost spat out my crayfish and avocado on rye sandwich.
