  1. I'll stick with Leicester as they did me so well last week. So home win in Leicester v Bournemouth (7/10 - Bet365) And for the Norwich one a little safer hopefully: Pukki to score anytime (11/8 - Bet365) EDITED to correct my first pick
  2. I imagine he's only in the centre of the photo because of the way the shots were done with the player stances, and he happened to be the only once facing directly forwards! But yes, I agree he's definitely come a long way in such a short space of time. Taking Pukki out the equation probably our top performer so far this season.
  3. If Hanley was playing we never would’ve conceded that. *Disclaimer - I’m not watching or even listening to commentary. I just know it to be true 😚
  4. This is very true, you can see that he definitely takes it to heart. NCFC thru and thru! He's pretty much guarenteed to start tomorrow. Maybe a good rendition of "You'll never beat the Hanley" after his first tackle of the game to help boost the confidence and we'll see an immaculate display... He's got it in him, just needs to cut out the little errors which at this level get punished.
  5. Hi all. First time PUP here. I've read and followed the cause for a while so many apologies for not getting involved sooner. It really is great work that you do! @nutty nigel - I have just sent you over £10 via Paypal, trust it was received OK! As for my picks: Sheff Utd v Leicester [AWAY WIN - 5/4] & Norwich result rush [NCFC win with BTTS - 6/1] Hope to get off to a winning start ☺️ Good luck all!
  6. This is now my 5th season as an ST holde, in the lower barclay next to the snake pit, quite close to the pitch in row L. Although there are better views i love it there as you not only get the atmosphere from the snake pit and Barclay but also the players warming up directly in front of you (which last season was especially good banter with Rhodes, Derby game when the lights went out worth a special mention, some great banter). I do live in Berkshire so its a 4hr train journey each way to get to and from CR (or more when they decide to put replacement busses for half the journey from London). I almost gave up the ST this season as have just had a baby and missed a lot of last season throughout the pregnancy, but have come to a share agreement with the person I sit next to so i'll be doing about half the games if the stars align. Due to the long journey mid-week games are nigh impossible, so glad we won't have too many of them this season. Instead i've just got Sky and BT changing fixture times and dates to contend with... Won't be there tomorrow, but will be singing nice and loud at the tele instead!
  7. Always enjoy the reports, thank you. I was having a beer during half time though so missed the improved half time entertainment, what was it??
  8. You're right, it is a tightrope and on this occasion the club has fallen off it, but they have to try. And like i said in my previous post, while the opportunity is there they have to maximise the amount of revenue they can bring into the club from every angle possible to ensure we are here for future generations to enjoy. But not only that, to hopefully be able to push on and establish ourselves int eh prem. Lets play a hypothetic game that Aarons gets injured and without the £750k we have earnt from this scheme we wouldn't have had teh funds to buy SB as cover. Would you by happy to have given £50 towards the purchase of SB knowing he would be vital in us staying up? I know I would. I really do celebrate it, would much rather it be this way than for us to overstretch and be just another one of the long list of clubs that are in financial peril and in some cases be on the brink of non-existence. I'm afraid that’s what comes with demand suddenly far outweighing supply. Don't get me wrong, I agree the way it's been handled by the club is wrong and I've seen many suggestions for better ways of doing it mentioned on this board over the past weeks. Where I don't agree though is the club has "shafted a proportion of us" - it’s shafted every one equally who DECIDED to pay for the subscription. That’s one thing that I haven't seen in any of the other suggestions, equality... (without re-opening the elite/loyal/diehard fans debate all over again).
  9. To play devils advocate, I really don't understand how on one hand we can celebrate the fact we are a self-sustaining club doing things differently to any other club, but then on the other hand moan about the club trying to maximise it's opportuity to earn money. The amount of times I've seen mentioned that its "Only £750k" compared to the £100m TV money and therefore its not worth it, I'm pretty sure to NCFC every penny counts. Ok we have £100m coming in, but as we know a good proportion of that money is gone to player contracts, wages, running costs etc etc before we get a chance to start spending. If all goes wrong and we get relegated this year (so only 1 or 2 years of parachute payments, can't remember which) an extra £750k is a lot of money all of a sudden. Hell, this season it bought us a right back... I completely, 100%, understand peoples gripe with the over subscription and inability to get tickets, but at the same time, you really can't blame NCFC for trying to maximise its earning potential while the opportunity is there. When the sun shines, make hay...
  10. How long does the togetherness last once players start to get poached and new faces come in. Thats the biggest difference between buying a £3m player still in development and a £30m+ player in their prime. We are potentially developing for another team to have them at their peak. Dare I say it, what about when you start losing games regularly. It's very easy to have a great dressing room morale and squad togetherness when you are winning every week and winning the league so your group of £3m players "over perform" and value rises. The real test is can it last when you lose more than you win and find yourself in a relegation scrap. If not does their value still rise to £30m, or does it stagnate? Of course we all hope to avoid this sceanrio, but there's a good chance that will be the reality. Will they still pull together, or will it look like last season was one of those "moments in the sun" where everything just seemed to click. IMO (and I hope i'm right) is that this group will still have a great bond and be willing to work for their team mates and manager, but i've seen it go the other way far too many times in football... I think an interesting an example would be Sessengnon. In Fulham's promotion season he was being tracked and being looked at by top clubs and crazy numbers like £50m plus were being talked about. Fulham then had a pretty disastorous season in the prem and got relegted, Tottenham end up buying him for £25m...
  11. I think if we had a decent loan option for Idah put on the the table (champs minimum) with a half decent loan fee we'd take it. Maybe it's already happened so need Rhodes to fill his spot, but can't accept the offer until we have another body in place. I know it would be nice to have Idah around the first team this season, but he'd definitely benefit more from regular game time at a decent level.
  12. If a defender was under pressure from an attacker they could just step inside the box and make the goal kick be retaken. Now if they do that it just means they are even closer to their own goal and still under pressure. Great rule change IMO
  13. Glad it wasn't just me 😀
  14. So it looks like Tetty may need an operation on his knee. Surely this means we are going to have to push for a CDM before the window closes. Farke seems to talk about having 2 specialists per role, we now only have 1 in Trybull... I know, another thread about a CDM, but thought someone may have missed that we need one 😚
  15. My wife supports Arsenal and their membership scheme is basically identical to what we have now and always has been, so think the above quote is a little unfair on NCFC. Arsenal have 3 levels for Home membership: - Gold - Season ticket Holder Silver - Top Priority Member Red - Priority Member Sale dates for their tickets are in 3 brackets. Gold + Silver first, then Red, then general. You can't even be a part of the Arsenal Away membership scheme without being a Home member for the previous season. So we've basically just butchered this model with season ticket holders not as high up the list.
  16. Personally I think we need to sign a CDM.... 😉
  17. Personally I prefer him at CB for a lot of the reasons already mentioned above. However if we don't sign a CDM in this window I think he'll end up playing a lot of his football further forward this season. I do like Trybull but have a horrible gut feeling he isn't going to cut it. I think everyone agrees Tetty isn't the solution and a fit Thompson is still an unknown, so only leaves us with 1 option. I must admit, I like the idea of having Godfrey in front of Zimmerman and Klose with the ability to drop back and make a 3 allowing Aarons and Lewis to both move forward simultaneously...
  18. I rarely post nowadays but I feel I've gotta say this all seems pretty ludicrous. Of course if a player signs a new contract at another club his contact at their previous club becomes void. There may be some agreement of sorts about settlement to pay off the remainder of the contact as part of the sale negotiations, but they definitely would not be getting paid by 2 clubs at once.
  19. Seems the sort of player Farke could get the best out of and fits our ethos...
  20. Perhaps one of the most one sided stats I've ever seen for a game...
  21. Nobody, nobody can replace him apparently lol Thought Cantwell had a pretty decent game, won the ball back high up the pitch a few times and a few decent passes. But yeah, no Emi...
  22. Annoyingly don't have any priority memebership numbers i can use, just season tickets, so have to hope there are still some left on Wednesday however unlikely. If i can't get an additonal ticket i won't be able to make the game, so may have a spare on my season ticket. Will have to see how it goes
