  1. They won't need to address inflation, as price increases were a deliberate act by their corporate masters to influence the election.
  2. Oh boy, it's going to be a very long two years ahead... and Republican leader McCarthy is giving her a leadership position.
  3. To save America. That’s what he will say and plenty will choose to believe that, especially if the new narrow majority of Republican House Representatives decide it’s in their political interest to create chaos for the next two years. All aided and abetted by Fox News etc.
  4. Don’t look now, but he who can’t be named …. Is baaack … 😂
  5. Agree with you on dropping Hanley. As unpopular as that may be with some.
  6. Apparently, she didn't pray hard enough RTB. Or just maybe God isn't a Republican?
  7. Now you were saying RTB... Quelle surprise eh? She always was a Russian funded GOP mole.
  8. “Dicker the kicker” starred for the Chargers… that’s the nickname he picked up at the Texas Longhorns 🙂 The Eagles cut him three weeks ago, back in Austin about to take his girlfriend to a Kelly Clarkson concert and the Chargers call him to fly out as their emergency back up. The Chargers players said no one knew his name, but two games in they do now….
  9. The point being the disparity between votes cast for each party and seats won.
  10. There may be some merit in arguments for "independent State Legislatures" but there are aspects that scream catch 22, enabling an authoritarian take over. The first being the Federal Constitution does not permit the Federal Government to set a universal standard for administering Federal Elections, that must be left to State Legislatures. The second being State Supreme Courts can't overturn a decision made by their State's Legislature with regard to administering Federal Elections in their State. This not only means a State's Legislature can do anything they want (of course some will), so "States Rights!", it also means that the Federal Supreme Court is telling States who's State Constitution says their State Supreme Court can overturn a decision of their State Legislature for non-compliance with the State Constitution that doesn't apply to administering Federal Elections. not "States Rights!" So if the Supreme Court rules in the appellant's favor (I think this Supreme Court is very likely to do so) the Federal Government can't tell a State Legislature what to do. And no State Supreme Court can tell a State Legislature what to do. And the Voters in a State can't tell a State Legislature what to do in any specific Federal Electoral Cycle as the State Legislature can simply override the Voters and appoint their own Electors anyway. And finally although Voters in the State can in theory tell a State Legislature what to do in future electoral cycles by voting them out of office, they can't in practice do that either because the Federal Supreme Court has said the setting of constituency boundaries for both Federal and State elections is a matter for State Legislatures to administer. And too often when they do that they choose to manage those maps to lock in an overwhelming political advantage for their own party so they can't be voted out. This is isn't Democracy, but hey ... it is Constitutional and anyway, who cares .... our side wins!
  11. A "feature" deliberately exploited by Republican lead States in recent years, passing laws to prevent any postal ballots from being counted until the polls close. Which means "results" the evening of polling day will have maximum divergence from the "final toll"
  12. RTB ...sleepy Joe may know a thing or two about politics after all.
  13. It’s their new thing - we’ll one of probably 100 things they used to believe in but now don’t - the Republicans always promoted mail in voting and now it’s apparently kryptonite.
  14. The role of the media cannot be ignored. Decades of propaganda can steer an electorate one way or another. And you have to concede that the print media in UK and TV media in US has a massive right wing bias. Full public funding of the UK's media and political parties would cost the country a pittance compared to the economic harm imposed by the interests behind these propaganda campaigns.
  15. Meanwhile, so NOW GOP representative Crenshaw says the election fraud claim was a lie. I guess he must have seen some internal polling that suggests he should revert back to "moderate Republican" after spending the last 9 months being all in on MAGA.
  16. Someone is VERY triggered this evening 🙂
  17. Exactly. I recall we finished 12th or 13th (one place below Ipswich) in the Championship and won the title the next year.
  18. The CPTPP is a defensive economic alliance against China, so they are hardly likely to invite China to join them. The UK putting itself outside the two largest trading blocks in the world - the EU explicitly, and the US implicitly, has to be the biggest strategic error in modern economic history.
  19. Business leaders starting. to comment (finally) - where have you been guys? p.s. just seen he's the same guy who wrote the Guardian piece.
  20. Just shows you how out of touch he is. a) he'd need a Republican majority in the House (quite likely but not guaranteed) b) he'd need a Republican majority in the Senate (quite likely but not guaranteed) and that majority would then need to change Senate rules so that no legislation could be filibustered i.e. need 60% minimum support (also possible, but not likely because it both creates a precedent Democrats can follow and .....) c) he'd need President Biden to sign off on it. If he didn't (and he wouldn't) Congress can only override that veto by a 2/3 majority in both the House and Senate, and of course they won't be anywhere near close to that. So you'd be in a situation that Republicans would need to hold the US hostage (maybe force a US Fed Gov debt default for example) in order for the President to cave in to a demand to change the rules of an election those same Republicans were just elected by. Sure..
  21. Besides which he's way too short for a FB. Winger yes.
  22. Every young player on Norwich's books are for sale eventually. It's been that way forever. It's called the football pyramid.
  23. Well even if all the big earners and 1st team fringe players left we'd still have a team something like this ... Gunn Byram Omobamidele Tompkinson McCallum Gibbs Nunez Tzolis Sara Cantwell Sargent Subs Mair / Barden Idah Rowe Mumba Springett Sorenson
  24. Isn't that why we have an experienced center back as Captain to coach the young players on where to position? Or maybe I'm missing something there...
  25. The Democrat candidate won after all the votes cast were counted, including mail in votes, which in many Republican led states are not even permitted to be counted until close of the polling stations. A deliberate policy to sow confusion (claim victory on polling day, and be the basis for post election legal action). Yeah you bet. And they're doing exactly the same again this election.
