  1. Well that was quite a day for the President’s remaining supporters .... what’s next?
  2. Meanwhile, as highlighted earlier this pesky UK law may be raising its head.... the (Cross-border Trade) Act 2018. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-britain-eu-court-idUSKBN1WV2G6?utm_campaign=trueAnthem%3A+Trending+Content&utm_content=5da79c74594d1700014c7f35&utm_medium=trueAnthem&utm_source=twitter
  3. Indeed it is. And if Parliament decides to hold a second referendum that is what will happen. Your taxi driver accepted the fare, but ran into some issues like roadworks, heavy traffic and where you want to go to now closes at 2 a.m and the fare will have to go up. So yes you all left the club, but he can’t get you to where you want to go to before it closes. So he can either drop you off back at the first club, take you somewhere else or ask you what you want to do .... is that clear enough for you?
  4. For a political party (or company) set up to promote just one policy - Brexit - the BP leaders who have never been shy of any media attention over the past few years, are being awfully quiet? Why? Why are the BBC who wanted to get Nigel Farage’s opinion ad nauseam before, not chasing him down? Surely the most influential man in British politics has a view on these negotiations - don’t we deserve to hear him speak?
  5. Meanwhile, the Secretary of Defense, who said he would cooperate with Congress’s inquiry into the Ukraine “withheld defense money” scandal, has now declined / been prevented from doing so ... the White House taking the position the entire inquiry is “illegal” .... watch this space..
  6. Same news cycle as the Democratic Party debates last night, so no is the answer.
  7. Oh dear RTB, so you cited a very long list which boils down to : - one month of rapid GDP growth - employment and unemployment figures - essentially unchanged from a 9 year trend - tax cuts - which have also created a 1 Trillion $ annual deficit (up from 500 Billion) - a proposal for an infrastructure plan that has not even been put to Congress. - a proposal for a drug cost reduction plan that has not even been put to Congress. - Republican judges to vacant positions Republicans in the Senate refused to fill for Obama - constructed 14 miles - yes 14 miles - of US / Mexico border wall with 1.6 Billion funding - claims to have negotiated better trade deals, none of which have been ratified by Congress - secured new markets for farmers 🙂 must be why American Soy farmers are going broke. - moved US Embassy to Jerusalem - summits with North Korea, or photo ops, from which nothing has happened. - defeated ISIS - well maybe, maybe not. - won Olympic Games for US - some tweaks to the VA. That's it? Big tax cuts for the rich and cutting environmental / fiscal regulations on favored industries. Yeah MAGA. I do so hope that Boris can do the same for the UK.
  8. Oh please do enlighten us about all the ways the President has made America Great Again - but you can’t use the economy GDP growth or the monthly gains in employment numbers as those are exactly the same (or worse) than for several years before he became President..... so an improved trade deficit, or reduced budgetary deficit, legislation passed, international agreements brokered, improved race relations, semi-automatic gun control, anything you’d like to list is fine...
  9. Eagerly awaiting Nigel Farage comments about any "deal" with the EU.... Six weeks ago : https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-49482032 Brexit: No deal 'only acceptable' way to leave EU, says Nigel Farage
  10. Meanwhile, more testimony today, this time from George Kent, a Deputy Assistant Sec. of State. Meanwhile, ABC is reporting that 'Giuliani says he will not comply with his Congressional subpoena', but “If they enforce it then we will see what happens" https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/465892-giuliani-says-he-wont-comply-with-subpoenas-from-democrats
  11. Very true. College Football is the true American sport, packed stadiums often of over 100.000 people and they only have to pay the coaches, everyone else, players, cheerleaders and band work for free - it’s the American dream 👍🇺🇸
  12. So if the Prime Minister comes back with an agreement tonight that puts an EU / UK border in the Irish Sea, leaving Northern Ireland within the EU customs union, will the Brexit Party support that ? (I can't write vote for that, as they have no MPs) Or would that be a BRINO - BRexit In Name Only... ????
  13. An American Corbyn. Essentially true. That's why he won't be the Democratic Party nominee.
  14. It’ll be Biden or Warren as the Democratic Party candidate, Bernie Sanders is losing his support. If Trump Is not convicted in an impeachment trial it will be because 34 Senators (of 100) from 17 States (of 50) vote not guilty, and yes there are more than 17 States where the President is still popular, and he is overwhelmingly popular in what is left of Republican Party membership.
  15. Reuters now reporting on this Rudy Giuliani claim about who was paying him re Ukrainian work, as the US Government was not paying him and he says the President was not either. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-whistleblower-giuliani-excl/exclusive-trump-lawyer-giuliani-was-paid-500000-to-consult-on-indicted-associates-firm-idUSKBN1WU07Z
  16. “I am not part of whatever drug deal Sondland and Mulvaney are cooking up,” ~John Bolton. " means we can add John Bolton and Mick Mulvaney to the list of Cabinet level staff as witnesses in the Ukraine "give us political dirt on Biden or we'll withhold military aid" scandal. So plenty of important and relevant people to get before we need to worry about Republicans creating a prime time television tantrum over Hunter Biden...
  17. Absolutely brutal.... this was an LA Rams HOME game! For those not in the know the 49er's play in red (white away shirts) the LA Rams play in Blue ... there a few of those scattered around the LA Coliseum I think? p.s this would NEVER have happened if the NFL has brought back the only team LA fans care about - the Raiders - but they brought back the moneybags Rams and Chargers. If I was building a new $ 2 Billion stadium for those two teams I would be worried.
  18. Meanwhile, the former administration Russia policy advisor Fiona Hill is testifying in closed sessions in Congress today. Like others before her, the White House has been trying to block testimony. Fiona Hill was subpoenaed, per official working on impeachment inquiry, because of “attempts by the White House and the Administration to direct witnesses not to cooperate with the House’s impeachment inquiry and efforts by the White House to limit any testimony that does occur.” And - Republican congressman Matt Gaetz, one of the most aggressive supporters of the President, has been prevented from attending that meeting as he is not a member of any of the relevant committees - just one more small sign that the rules of law and procedure are starting to exert themselves, albeit very slowly and very late. https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/congress/gop-rep-matt-gaetz-ejected-from-secret-impeachment-meeting " .... my constituents want me actively involved in stopping the #KangarooCourtCoup run by Shifty Schiff ."
  19. While we are on Brexit Party and it’s sidekick Tories wannabe’s, the policies espoused in the Queens Speech are too familiar to those of us in the US. Taxes cuts skewed to the rich Elimination of environmental and financial regulations. Voter I.D. to suppress “voter fraud” when the statistics show there clearly isn’t any, but no move to a national photo I.D. Card A crack down on a non-existent crime wave that leads to a massive expansion of private prisons. Restictions on legal immigration / freedom of movement. Sounds like Britain has defacto become the (non-voting) 51st State of the Union, because it didn’t want to be the (voting) 27th State of the Union 😞
