  1. Roll on kick-off. Hope the stream's ok or it'll be a long afternoon 😁
  2. Now that's proper toxic abuse. No need for the frothing at the mouth sweary stuff, just a couple of well aimed grenades lobbed in there. 😇
  3. So was it honey or rosehip syrup with your bedtime warm milk?
  4. I think one or two on here might be exaggerating their ages. Oh ok then, one of you.
  5. Whoops. Wyn's first name IS Ronald - he's still with us!
  6. The only 'advanced talks' with Villa which would worry me would be if they wanted Daniel to replace what's his name - oh wait !!!! Btw Crafty, The Mighty Wyn signed for Newcastle from Bolton. Not being a clever ar*e, memory plays tricks, I keep thinking Ron signed from Wrexham which is equally wrong. What I didn't realise until checking up on my own memory was that Wyn was his middle name, his first name was ... Ronald. But what a pairing that was with Pop Robson in the Fairs Cup !!! But I agree with you our Ron was the best. The most complete centre forward of my lifetime bar none.
  7. If only Snoddy was there to take the worry away from him!
  8. Please pay for golf in the clubhouse Schoolboy has 12lb cod
  9. Not to mention the 'three-piece sh*tes' for sale in the classified ads 😊
  10. Sorry, bad taste, a couple of glasses of good English ale too many - you're right, it is beyond a joke now.
  11. I've reached the time of life when I'm happy whatever goes down for me.
  12. No idea who he was but the commentator on the last couple of Finland games was irritating as f***. Was like a broken record, every time Teemu came deep or went wide to do what Teemu does, no matter what he did there, good or bad, this guy just said oh they don't want him in there, they need him on the shoulder of the last man. I really wondered if he'd ever seen him play before.
  13. Well the member for West Suffolk took his time to do his 'civic duty' but Bozo passed on being a decisive leader again. Must be something really tasty in the Sunday papers - either that or the wives in his constituency party let it be known his time's up, in which case supporting the chaps from the back benches may be a bit if a short term thing. Bet he wishes he'd had the balls to dump on Cummings last year - it's just not fair how no-one now goes into the same blind denial on his behalf is it? 😪
  14. Agree with the OP, it is incredible the failure of some established clubs to find new bosses, with training restarting only a couple of weeks or so down the line – add that to the unease created at clubs fearful of having their men headhunted and a biggish chunk of the Prem will be unsettled at the start of the season. A decent opportunity for any of us organised ‘little clubs’ who have a good start (and yes I have seen the fixture list) as even a modest points tally could achieve a healthy position in the table before everyone gets up to pace.
  15. Stumbled on it when rebooting tv - really doesn't matter whether it's left or right, Blue Peter would give a better world view and show them a thing or two about presentation while they're at it. Sorry if I'm repeating what other grown ups have said but have better things to do than read six pages devoted to this load of guff.
  16. Sorry, thought I mentioned he was a grandad
  17. BBC match report: A red card for Saints' Alexandre Jankewitz after only two minutes triggered a complete collapse for the visitors, who were on the end of the same scoreline against Leicester City in October 2019. It is only the third time a team has lost 9-0 in the Premier League, with United also beating Ipswich Town by that margin in 1995. In fact they finished with nine men after an 87th minute penalty. I was watching with football pals on a boozy football weekend in Spain (yes, it was that long ago), and the barman couldn't understand why I was cheering on the losing keeper - it was of course to not let in more goals than Ipswich, but he'd never heard of Ipswich, he was too young to remember their successes.
  18. Delighted he's back. Good back-up with the likelihood of growing in to Tim's role as time passes. He then will be under pressure from our up and coming keepers who will have matured on loan - effectively his experience has been gained, to a greater extent than our own loanees, at someone else's expense. Couldn't give a monkey's t*ss who his Dad is in this context, he cares for the club and so will be less likely to agitate if the process is slower than he hopes. If it doesn't work out everyone moves on without acrid criticism.
  19. Well one or two anyway .... the ones who look due a new name some time soon 😎
  20. That sums it up Lakey. Admit I feared for Grant tonight but he was outstanding throughout and the fresh legs did nothing against him. Going back to your earlier posts agree Terry Venables was the real deal for England. He was the best England boss since Ramsey, who would've got so much more creativity out of this squad. Don't have a downer on Southgate as a person, but the football's just dull.
  21. Excellent referee and use of VAR was adult.
  22. Ha yes, was coming on to say you gentlemen were right (should anyway have realised the context was wrong for '67), but you beat me to it. Strangely don't remember the 1969 match even though I may well have been there or would certainly have read every line of edp/pink coverage in those days .... the fog of time!
  23. This the likely match, September '67. Programme cost a tanner.
