Honestly finishing position
Phil Schmil replied to ur just a man in a jacket's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I had us down as finishing 14th at the start of the season and am sticking with that. -
No points if you don't deserve them.

A referee making a poor decision, prompting a chant of "You''re not fit to referee", to be replaced by the mascot of the team whose fans started the chanting. Teams setting their stall out to defend are allowed to erect a fruit stall in their 6 yard box to be manned by the Goalie. Three direct hits on items of fruit by the opposition to count as a goal. Loving this thread. -

That rules out Mike Phelan as well then. Regular wearer of shorts in winter as Fergie''s assistant. -

Greatest ever keeper?

I have mixed memories of Kevin Keelan. He made some of the most spectacular saves I''ve seen, but he had a temper and could be a bit rash at times. I remember him getting the hump with a Leeds player, throwing the ball down to square up with him and another Leeds player kicking the ball into the net he had left unguarded.......and the goal stood! -
Greatest ever right winger?

Ruel Fox and a name from the 70''s Jimmy Neighbour. Fond memories of his winning goal against Liverpool at the end of a mazy dribble in the mid to late 70''s -
Greatest ever left winger?

Beating West Ham could relegate us............

Stats indicate that results do not improve in the long term after sacking a manager. On that basis we are just as likely to be relegated if we sack Hughton as if we keep him, more so if the wrong appointment is made. Now that Martin O''Neill has taken the Republic of Ireland job, who do you want the board to replace Hughton with Wiz? -
Finished 3-3. Hughton out!

Yesterday we put 3 past the team who won 3-0 at Spurs. Just saying ;-)

Yes we did get a slice of luck to get back in the game, but as we have had rotten luck so far this season we were due a break. Well done to the team for turning it around and well done to Chris Hughton. -
Can't be prouder.

Anybody got the old Robert Chase interview?
Phil Schmil replied to Juggy's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I remember watching this at the time and wanting to punch the TV in frustration during the interview section at the lack of answers from Chase and the unwillingness of Mike Liggins to press him. Just watched it again on my Phone and had to put it down to avoid damaging it. I remember being left feeling totally disenfranchised from my football club and am eternally grateful that this man has no further connection with it. -

Further evidence that they are a club with no plan, stumbling from one direction to another. Much like we were in the seasons leading up to our relegation to League 1. -
Middlesborough 1997

"albeit with a useless manager". That''s the key statement for me, They also failed to fulfil a fixture at Blackburn that cost them 3 points and ultimately relegation. We have Hoots and every reason to be optimistic without getting complacent. -
Looks a great prospect, but realistically whose place would he take in the team? I think we need to focus on getting at least one striker in now.

Those long winter evenings must fly by in the Banana household ;-)
