  1. I think Hanley just isn't a good leader. He's the captain but after every mistake he's got his head in his hands like it's the end of the world, which differs from what Zimbo would do who as a natural leader, just gets fired up and helps the defence find its feet again after a mistake.
  2. In his games from last season he was so raw. You could seem him out of position and unsure of where to be on the pitch even when the rest of the team was flowing fluidly. He had a lot of good contributions in his games but it was clear to see he wasn't quite on the same wavelength as the rest of the team. Looking back it's obvious that it was down to a lack of experience because he's come into this season so determined, confident and ready to show people what he can do. Last season he was the main one of his academy peers who wasn't fully able to showcase their skills. He was the name of the academy boys that was tagged on at the end as an extra bonus but now he wants to prove why he deserves his spot of that team. Instead of resigning himself to be the man left out he's grown up and wants to make this season his. I am blown away by how much he's improved. He's magnificent.
  3. There's something so cool about the way he runs at people with that straight back posture. Ronaldo levels of confidence. Looks like a star. Would be astonished if it comes off.
  4. According to the Douglas Luiz transfer to Aston Vila, if a player is signed to be an important member for the first team it can be used as a reason for a valid work permit application. I know Radoja doesn't have the caps required to get a permit in line to the international games played rule but if Aston Villa are prepared to offer nearly £20m on the logic that he's going to be an important member of their team, it shows there's a bit of wiggle room. When you aren't an elite club not everyone is going to be able to be an international.
  5. If we really are skint and there is no real budget to pay a significant fee for a DM, then the only suitable option in this window is this guy. - Nemanja Radoja. He's a free agent after leaving Celta Vigo in the summer. 26 6,1 Serbian From WhoScored.com ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- He was well liked at Celta Vigo according to a basic glance at their message board but there were injury troubles last season apparently and he didn't play at all. Apparently he wanted a pay rise from his €23k p/w wages as well. Previously he has been linked to Aston Villa already this summer but there hasn't been anything on the story in several months, plus they recently signed a Marvelous DM from Belgium so it would seem they are out of the pecking order. The other main report was for him to go to Real Betis but there has been little development on that either despite most Celta Vigo fans thinking it was his preferred choice. Levante are the most recent club to be linked with him about a week or so ago but nothing has been confirmed as of yet. Levante are one of the smaller clubs in La Liga so I can't imagine them having much more sway than we would unless he wants to remain in Spain. His highlights look decent for the position we're missing in the squad . Which in my view is a static DM who doesn't progress up the field as much but just tackles, defends and passes the ball well to his teammates. Without this kind of player we're going to be left short at the back too many times. so... Come solve our defence Radja! ...he can't be worse than nothing.
  6. The training camp in Tampa seems to be well underway. https://mobile.twitter.com/TampaBayRowdies/status/1152333782743044096
  7. Some Belgian-Nigerian-English bloke signed a new contract in the youth team according to this article. Tyrese Omotoye. I've never heard of him, is he any good? https://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/read_news.php?nid=32964
  8. I think Trybull is an excellent ball winner tbh
  9. He really did look great from some of the youtube highlights. Great hold up man striker with good technical skill.
  10. All the German guys do the yeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaah thing in their interviews.
  11. People speak with more confidence in their native language. Only makes sense.
  12. He just seemed so out of position for all the goals. Very odd. The belgian goal was a banger for sure though.
  13. Don't mean to be too negative on our boy Rocky right off the bat - but during my 5 minute long reconnaissance mission to find out who he is, I found this video of him with the Belgian u21s team from last week and his efforts for the goals are a bit shaky. Belgium U21s vs Italy U21s
  14. Just scored a penalty. Might be the saviour we're looking for. Simon Power is also on the bench for this game. Saw an interesting interview with him the other day if anyone wants an insight into the pathway for young players at the club. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVtUicx87Zo

  18. It was quite Van Persie-like. I have to hold my hands up and say I'd never heard of him before this season and occasionally I'd hear about him on podcasts as being the leading goalscorer in Serie A and thought that maybe he's just one of those big lugs who have decent seasons sometimes but after watching him a few times, he really is a fantastic player. Genoa were determined to get him at the start of the season because previously they'd missed out on Lewa and didn't want to do it again. Clearly their scouting team is onto something!
  19. On that note, did anybody see Piatek's goal for Milan btw? Pure class.
