1. Maybe a little dig at the Hughton regime or just common sense talking, but he did say in an interview that when you buy two strikers, you want to see them play together! I for one am gllad he''s bought two that look like they could play together....
2. We need someone with a bit of magic...we really lacked someone who could just pull a goal out of thin air last season. Whether that man is Wes or not remains to be seen.
3. I don''t know if its true, just repeating what my friend said...at least its interesting, unlike most the pre season! Can''t wait for the friendlies to start!!
4. Hi guys, I don''t post very often, and never get this kind of information and am not sure if anyone has posted this before. I have a friend whose son trains at Chelsea with Zola''s son, and he said that he was definitely offered the job first but turned it down because his wife didn''t want to leave London. I expect the usual ''source'' bollox but just thought I''d pass on what I''d heard. It makes sense as well, seeing as the Adams announcement was delayed for so long and Zola had expressed an interest in the job in the media. Bring on the new season! OTBC :-D
5. I seem to remember Watford outplaying us for 70 mins earlier this season....
6. not to mention the state of the clubs website, and the fact that most of the content on Canary World is available through youtube, the radio or MOTD. Shocking, and the video quality is awful as well.
7. People rarely criticised Hughton when he got tactics/selections/substitutions right, and we have played well under him on occasions. Most of the time we were baffled by all of it. Playing 4 CMs against Hull for example. This is the first time we''ve looked like getting something after going behind since the Everton match last year....we all agree that team spirit, desire and GOOD organisation will get you through the season (eg Palace, Hull etc). They have to want it. Under Hughton we were unable to pass, move, defend or attack. At least when we go behind under Adams they look like they''ll fight for him to the end, something we haven''t seen for a while. It did feel like that West Ham game though, when Hooper''s first goal went in, Carrow Road with the players tails up is a fun place to be! We just need to find a way to stay stable at the back long enough to get in front for once!
8. And we scored twice! It would be great if we could show some of that defensive resolve we''ve seen on occasions (a few clean sheets this season...) and mix it with a bit more attacking nouse. Think we''ll need an upgrade on Johnson/Tettey for next season if we''re in the prem - someone who can put themselves about a bit but looks more comfortable on the ball....not sure who that is!
9. Certainly sounds good! Like your avatar as well Patches!
10. I suggested this back in October - and the same responses are coming out! I''m sure Liverpool did pretty well at the start of the season with three at the back, and it does work on paper. I remember the initial reason I suggested it was because Wes likes to play with two strikers in front of him and it would keep us solid down the middle. Not sure how susceptible we''d be down the flanks though
11.
I think we''re guilty of judging our players on their very best days. All of our players are good enough on these occasions. Unfortunately the majority can''t do it consistently. I think that''s why we had such success under lambert. Somebody you can get the best out of average players. An excellent motivator. This isn''t a slight on hughton. I just don''t see the players willing to run through brick walls for him. Having a squad with too many inconsistent players is our downfall. Out of all our signings over the last 5 years, how many have been PROVEN in the PREMIER when they signed?
Only Bassong?, maybe Michael Turner? I suppose Gutierrez counts, but you''re right, we don''t have any players who have played a significant part in the PL with any other club. But then look at Southampton...all youth team, players that came up with them from League One like us and excellent buys from the foreign leagues. Very few established PL players in their or in Swansea''s teams for example. Look what PL experience did for QPR last year!

13. Its always been Olsson for me. I think Snoddy has really pushed on in the last few games, although he was terrible at Stoke! Olsson playing through an injury as well. I wish Fer had lived up to his potential, maybe he needs a tougher manager to get the most out of him.
14. Martin Ollson, lots of passion, pace, and goal line clearences aplenty...for me the most effective of our summer signings, never looks lost in the game.
15. Just doesn''t exist for us. Never won two games in a row, we just don''t seem capable of putting a run together. What did Hughton do last year to get us that 10 game run?! It''s mystifying. This so called turning point never comes, even after a few good performances. What''s wrong with the confidence in defence, seeing as we had 4 clean sheets out of the last 6 games. Mind boggling....that''s all!
16. didn''t he keep Lukaku in his pocket or am I making it up?
17. Celtic supporter friend of mine says he suffers a lot of the same problems with them as Hughton does with us, although in a league where it doesn''t make any difference. I''ve not seen them play, has anyone watched them a lot this season?
18. didn''t Ryan Bennett do a very good job on a few of the bigger CFs last season?
19. Holt to get a red card surely! He went in for some pretty hefty challenges when he came off the bench last season, and was lucky not to be sent off. Can see him being too fired up and not up to the pace...
20. Hard to drop one of them. It makes it very hard for the opposition to play with those three bad boys in the middle! BJ''s pass to Snoddy was sublime, thought he was outstanding today. OTBC
21. The whole team played out of their skins, and when someone did make a mistake, others were up to the task of getting them out of their mess. Ruddy was sensational apart from his kicking, and Snoddy looked back to his real best. RvW still a disappointment to me, he looks like his boots are too small for him when he runs! Needs to bulk up a bit over the summer, or we need to stop asking him to play a physical game and put the ball on the floor for him. Hooper looked a lot more effective when he came on. Well done Hoots and the boys, thoroughly deserved, seems like he''s learnt from his errors of sitting back too much at the end of games (see West Ham) and going for it too much against top teams (see Arsenal/Chelsea). Last season''s turning point was when we won against a top four team, lets hope this isn''t another false dawn like the last seven wins have been!
22. If we want to play the game where the wingers swap side ro confuse the opposition and put different pressures on their fullbacks, then snoddy can''t be involved. It seems odd as he can be one of our most effective players (like wes?) but when he doesn''t fit the tactics (like wes?) then he shouldn''t be playing (like wes?) We are playing a deep zonal pressing game, supposedly with a quick counter attack, and snoddy doesn''t fit this bill. If that had been pilks latching onto Redmond''s glorious throughball (and a good run from snoddy too, to be fair) then we may have seen a different result. Snoddy was unfit for man city, pilks was fit for both and looks more likely to make stuff happen at the moment
