1. I know alot has been said about, providing we''re in the Championship, how we will fair next season, so I thought I''d add my concerns.

I think we''ve struck gold with getting Lambert in for this season, he knows what this league is all about obviously knows the best way to get out of it. I''ll be the first to say that in my eyes Simon Lappin is average at best, and apart from his dogged workrate I can''t see Korey Smith turning into this future star we so badly crave. Controversial maybe, but just my opinion. On the flip side I think that you don''t neccessary need much width whatsoever in order to be a good side in Leage 1.

Take Tuesday night for example though, playing 4-4-2, our full-backs where exposed and this will be a major problem next season in my opinion.

Also, as much as Mcnamee''s performance was pleasing on the eye, I think he lacks the footballing brain so many quick wingers do. For example, defenders worst nightmare is having to defend balls with their face to goal, we see several own goals scored from that position every week But what Mcnamee did was cut back once at the byline, and give their CB''s time to get turned and face away from goal, and it''s fair to say Grant hHolt was no where to be seen all night.

Anyway, what worries me about next season is that in The Championship you need pace, width and athleticism.

So in my opinion you have to go with a 4-4-2 with athletic wingers and a straight front two. This leaves a question mark next to many of our current starting 11 and in particular Wes Hoolihan, as we all know he''s useless when operating as a Left winger, something that Gunny couldn''t see for love nor money.

So maybe selling one of our main assets isn''t all doom and gloom if the right replacemnt is avaliable??

Anyway just an opinion, I''m sure you''re all be looking for a fair sized rock as you read...

  2.
Bad pitch or not, it''s the same for both sides so i''ve never really excepted this as an excuse.
I played for Norwich at U15''s and we were taught to play the passing game. When we went to places like Milwall it used to be an awful surface. Althought we were the better footballing side the pitch was a complete leveller.

  3. Just for a bit of fun (or not, I''m sure some will disagree) thought I''d see how much NCFC dictates your mood on matchdays.

I have only been able to make 6-7 games a season throughout the last 4-5 years and really thought I''d lost that bite when it comes to supporting our club. I have been able to brush off defeats within a few minuites and not give it a thought. I''ll be honest at points I really just didn''t give much of a toss as it''s hard to get involved in the atmosphere of the club when you arn''t attending matches, that''s why I like reading this forum, to get a feel for what''s going on, even if it is full of whinging old farts!!!

Anyway I went to our game at home V Walsall earlier on in the season and it ruined my day, I couldn''t even go out that night as I was so fu*ked off, just like old times!!!

Turns out I do still love the club.

How much does City''s fortunes effect you?

  4.
Went to Gillingham last night and found City to be underwhelming - but very understrength. A good result rather than performance for me, but an interesting look at some of the younger players too. Forster 7 - didnt put a foot wrong and looked good distribution wise. He was strong coming out and brave in the challenge. Francomb 5 - marking was suspect and all too often his man was pulling away from him. Worked hard to get back when this happened and put in some tackles - but looked a liability and lightweight. Wiggins 6 - looked solid and has an eye for a pass. Has reasonable pace and gets forward well. Askou 6 - looked good in the air and won important tackles. Still prone to punting the ball up the field. Doherty 7 - looked very composed and put in some good tackles. Talked well and played the ball out of defenceas well as winning his headers. Daley 5 - got forward several times but lacked the confidence to finish. Largely ineffective. Adeyemi 6 - didnt notice him much - missed a free header but largely absent. Hughes 7 - pulled strings and was the playmaker and start of most of our moves McVeigh 6 - looked threatening at times and made some decent forward runs Cureton 4 - this is it for me with Cureton. We was SO SLOW, and fluffed the only chance he had. Wasted passes. For me he is our 5th striker Martin 6 - looked busy and put himself about winning headers. Had a couple of good chances. Did well. Stephens 6 - did his job and looked solid Dawkin 5 - didnt see a lot of the ball but made some decent forward runs McDonald 7 - excellent goal, looked fresh and hungry and had a few chances. I feel that he plays best with a bigger striker The burgers 0 - the meat was grey and tasteless and had to be swallowed with a large swig of beer.
Same ole same old for Daley.

  5.

Smudger''s right (although claiming an assist for Daley for the goal is pushing it a bit [;)]) . Daley certainly offers something when he''s played in the right system (i.e. the one we played at the start) and he''s let nobody down when he''s played. Sometimes I wonder what''s wrong with you people. You moaned and moaned when Roeder brought in loanees rather than playing our kids but when the kids play you moan at them too.

I hardly ever claimed an assist did I?

Watch the goal again and then tell me whether or not it was the MK Dons defences inability to cope with the early pressure, speed and trickery of Daley which led to their errors whcih led to Martin getting the ball in plenty of space which led to our goal.
