  1. Maddison needs regular games at his age to fulfill his potential. For better or worse, with Naismith staying Maddison won''t get many games under AN therefore this is probably a good move for him.
  2. Looks like we might be stuck with him for 3 more years then. If he won''t take a contract from a Prem team now, then we have no hope of moving him on later on.
  3. I imagine he''d get the hump pretty quick if he wasn''t starting every game. He definitely had the quality to be a very good player at one point in his career, but unfortunately i think his best days are already behind him. And this is ignoring his no doubt outrageous wage demands.
  4. Very good signing for them unfortunately, McCormack and Kodjia as a front two looks very dangerous on paper. Would have loved us to sign him (much more than McCormack), but i think realistically with the money Dr Xia appears to be pumping in we wouldn''t really be able to compete on this one. I still think as a squad we beat Villa in a fair few areas though, and the window isn''t shut yet.
  5. How about we actually give him a chance? Not every striker we sign from Europe is going to be the next RVW, not every striker that has been on loaned out by a champions league club is useless and not every striker who costs under £10m is rubbish. Obviously we can''t guarantee he will be POTS or win the golden boot, but he comes with good reviews from Forest fans and most importantly it means we can actually start a bloody striker next time Jerome is injured.
  6. Ignoring any debate on how bad Whittaker may or may not be, the tackle for the penalty is one of the inept I have ever seen in a Norwich shirt. Not awful in the leg-breaker sense, but I actually have no idea what he is trying to do with his challenge in that position.
  7. After a bit of research I think this would be a great signing. The Forest fans on their forum really rate him, and seem to blame how his season tailed off on their lack of attacking support last season. Some more quotes to add to the ones from last page; "Definitely one of the better technical players I''ve seen play for Forest. Could''ve got over 20 goals in a slightly more attacking system last season" "Nelson could easily score 20 in a season at this level in the right set-up. 9 in 24 hardly sets the world alight at face value but when we know what we now about last season it''s very credible" "He has the ability to put the ball away from anywhere in and around the box. I think his only detractor is that it takes him 2-3 shots per goal, but if that was any better he''d be in the Premier League" "Nelson scored nine goals in a struggling side, where he was mostly deployed as a lone forward and that with a team set out mainly to defend. I saw enough of him last season to see he''s quality, especially at this level" There''s also quite a few more praising his work ethic and determination, which is vital when playing up top on your own. If it''s a loan with an option to buy, then I can''t see how this is a bad deal. He has a lot of ability from the sounds of things and has his best years to come. He has also had a season at this level and so knows what to expect.
  8. Are there really people boycotting? I thought the booing was embarrassing enough, the sense of entitlement is ludicrous. All this due to a 0-0 against one of the best teams in the league. You would have thought we''d got thumped 4-0 by Burton by some of the overreactions on here.
  9. I don''t really mind at all, but I found it very amusing that the Barclay pillar from my viewpoint is so perfectly placed that it completely obscures all the half-time scores. I also assumed it would be rotating like a fan, I really see no point in what it actually does.
  10. Exactly. If he''s good enough, i couldn''t give a damn if he''s played for us before or not, he is good enough. I also wouldn''t care if we paid more than we sold him for, as long as the fee paid is appropriate. The big question is whether he is good enough though, his record suggests he could be. If he was that good though, I can''t see why Derby would sell him for less than 10m.
  11. I''d have him for 7m. Proven in the Championship, still has a couple of years in his ''prime'' and is a player who i think would fit the system quite well. Not sure why Derby would sell him for that though.
  12. I think the short of the matter is that Alex Neil has had a very good look at Bamford in training and has decided that he is not worth the fee. The fact that Wigan are the only team that seem to be in for him is quite surprising. I''d be very interested to see how he performs if he does move there.
  13. Unless there is a release clause in there as rumored, I can''t see him leaving for less than silly money.
  14. Good player, but unfortunately I think he will go to a bigger and more desirable championship club like Brighton.
  15. Connor Wickham would be a good signing imo, but an unrealistic one. Looking at Palace''s website, they only have 3 listed strikers. Without Wickham, the other 2 consist of a non-league recruit who has played 6 times in 4 years and a crocked Frazier Campbell. I''d rather a younger/hungrier player than Lambert, but if we get really desperate it might not be an awful signing.
  16. Which they don''t fill anyway. I rarely find such things amusing, but the bitterness on their forums regarding Pritchard really has been exceptional.
  17. They admittedly have a very nice, If a little soulless stadium. That said, I''m pretty sure Pritchard will choose us not for the money but for the fact that we''ve been in the Premier League for 4 of the last 5 seasons. When you compare this to their zero Premier League seasons ever, you understand where Pritchard might be coming from.
  18. If this goes through, It probably spells the end for Brady. Pritchard would be a fantastic replacement though. I imagine one of the Murphy''s will be shipped out on loan too as adding Pritchard would leave us with (by my count) 8 players competing for (at most) 3 places in an xi. Need to get a number 9 over the line ASAP now.
  19. Villa are welcome to him for £15m. Time to focus on someone else.
  20. Should be 3-0... At least the new kit looks good
  21. Yeah, we don''t look ready yet. A bit disconcerting a week before the start of the season.
