The games come thick and fast and with at least two of the three new players having question marks over their ability to get/stay fit - Kenny will likely play a significant number of games this season. He gets a lot of hate, but he's probably the only player at the club who is flexible enough to cover all three of those positions. He's also proven to be excellent at this level in two of those positions.

Aaron Mooy

It would be an interesting one. He will have been on far more money at his last few clubs than we would ever pay in the championship... But he won't have as many suitors as he would like after a few years out of a decent league. -
Williams available

I'd have him for 6-7m. Can't see it happening though. Age on his side and our back four was given a hospital pass last season with a complete lack of protection from the midfield. One of our best performers last season imo. -
Everton & Burnley Matches Tonight

Leeds going down has always been my preference. Would have been funny to see Everton drop, but alas not to be. Atmosphere at Goodison looked absolutely nuts. They would have been financially ****ed by relegation and to come from 2 down at half time to an 85th min winner to save them is great drama. -
Fair play to Blackburn Rovers

Looks like a great turnout. Imagine getting upset because a club has done this. -

Sounds like there is a really poor culture at the club. In terms of playing staff we're pretty comparable to Brentford, but the defeatist mentality at this level has really permeated throughout the squad and that is obviously a key difference when you're trying to punch above your weight. -
Webber to go this week.
HertsCanary93 replied to yellow_belly's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
The lack of professionalism throughout the club and the reliance on Webber is very disconcerting. Yes he is arrogant, confrontational and a (this sounds harsher than I really mean it) proven failure at this level. However, the ownership have no idea how to manage a football club and I worry that should Webber walk/be pushed, we'll end up with a clown like Jez Moxey out of desperation within a year. -
McLean the untouchable!

Probably going to get absolutely crucified for this, but I think he is nowhere near our worst regular starter in that midfield. Although that is more a sign of the recruitment than the player himself. I'd start him over PLM and Gilmour and actually think even in a vastly improved squad he would still have more to offer as a squad player than either of those two. -
Well, if WhoScored says he's perfect that settles the debate. Might has well swap his first team place with Plachetta. Personally, I'm looking more at the two managers who have been desperate for creativity and goals and both left him out. The latter putting him in the u23s.

What have they done to this club?
HertsCanary93 replied to Petriix's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
We had a Farke-style squad in the championship, from which we sold and lost our two best players in Emi and Skipp. All the recruitment from then on seemed to want to move us to playing a different style of football, with a focus on pacey wingers (which Farke often avoided). However, we didn't sign enough quality or quantity of players to play the new style, and hence Farke just stuck with his old system - often leaving out the new players like Tzolis, Sargent and Rashica. I think Smith was brought in with the intention of making us a tough to beat countering team, but when I watch us now, I genuinely don't know what our system is outside of the general formation... Pass it around for 5 mins, then hoof to our small striker for the rest of the game. We had some joy with a direct 442, but the club refused to sign another striker - so after Idah got injured we went back to zero system again. -
Presumably off in the summer. Sounds unhappy at the club and who can blame him. 2 managers in a row haven't rated him, so I assume Deano will want him out to raise some funds for a complete rebuild.

Who is going to score the goals?
HertsCanary93 replied to Capt. Pants's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Genuinely can't believe we didn't go for a striker in Jan. At least someone with maybe an eye for the championship next season... We want to play a 442 against near-peer teams, and yet the club have left the manager with one out of form striker. -
Kurt Zouma is a ****

How hard is it to not be a absolute ****er? It's disturbing that it was recorded and the other people in the room were laughing... Apparently the uploader is his brother, who put it on social media. Kind of implies it is normalised behaviour in that house. At a bare minimum, that cat needs to be taken away. Very disappointed the police aren't investigating, attacking an animal is a crime. -
Can't bring myself to watch it without being triggered. Anyone know which pundit was chatting the rubbish?

Poor Jamal Lewis
HertsCanary93 replied to cambridgeshire canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
My lingering memory is that he was an unbelievable athlete - crazy quick for the full 90 and covered plenty of ground in that time. However he had a fair few suspect defensive moments, and didn't have the same quality going forward as Max. He'll be a solid championship player and I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the prem again soon.
