  1. I''m sure McNally will act - nothing to do with being brave or strong, just a logical decision. It isn''t working with Hughton and he knows it. It''s for all to see. Hughton isn''t quite what we thought he would be. He clearly has been backed like no manager before at the club and I''m sure the board - and some fans - thought he was capable of greater things with Norwich, but there is no evidence of this at all. Many of my non Norwich supporting friends have remarked of how the soul, spirit, passion and attacking flair has gone from Norwich under Hughton. That isn''t going to change I''m afraid and I''m genuinely surprised how some fans still want to back him despite what is staring them in the face. With Hughton, we will be relegated. With somebody else, we have a chance to survive. No guarantees, but a chance. Nice guy or not, Hughton. Must. Go. Now.
  2. No chance of finishing mid table whilst Hughton is in charge. Perfectly possible with a.n other, but time is running out.
  3. Managers rarely have a go at their own, so wouldn''t expect Robins to say anything else. Norwich have bought well, but that is all wasted on a manager, nice guy that he is, who will take us down. The club cannot afford to keep Hughton at this club and the longer they string it out, the more costly it could be. He Must Go!!!
  4. If Hughton remains, we won''t be going to Old Trafford next season.
  5. We would get a lot of applicants, but McNally would of already sorted things with the next guy before Hughton is sacked. We''re going backwards under Hughton and he should be replaced at the earliest opportunity, but there aren''t any obvious candidates. Whoever gets it, they will have to have a positive approach which the club is crying out for. Neil Lennon could well be a possibility, but I''m unconvinced. O''Neill? Holloway? Hoddle? Mackay? Robins? However, if I had to place a fiver on who it would be, I''d say it will be a manager in work, so I think Lennon is looking favourite.
  6. It worked well under Mike Walker, but I don''t recall any manger since that has employed it. It has potential, but there is no way Hughton would employ this formation.
  7. The Manager isn''t getting the best out of the players - that cannot continue. I would hope the board act sooner rather than later. Hughton isn''t the man!
  8. Hughton isn''t the man, nice guy or not. A draw is what I expected and a draw is what we got. Mackay comes out with more credit as they aren''t a great side and are away from home. Hughton isn''t a winner and isn''t a motivator. The players lack belief and you can only blame one man for that. Norwich City Football Club cannot afford to have a manager like this. We will go down unless he is replaced - At least that way we have the chance of staying up, which I don''t believe we have at present.
  9. Geoffrey Watling is there had to be one, who came as near as anyone to saving the club, but I agree with a previous poster than Norwich City lacks a defining figure.
  10. The board are businessmen, so of course they are considering it. They are too astute to just let it ride. The club have aimed for 10th and budgeted for 16th, which is reasonable and realistic given the previous seasons and the record money and players that have been brought it by the current manager. The problem is, the current manager hasn''t and isn''t getting the best out of the players and as a team, so on that basis alone, he has to go because in life, you have to change things if you want change. Pre McNally, the club were notoriously slow in sacking managers that clearly weren''t or no longer performing, but things are different now, and one would expect McNally to act if the results don''t go our way. Cardiff will be no pushovers and Hughton needs a big performance from his players to save his neck. Question is, Do the players as a collective want his neck to be saved? I wonder...
  11. The manager. There is a lack of belief from the players in the manager and vice versa. A club like Norwich cannot afford to be in this situation and therefore Hughton should be replaced. It was a logical appointment by NCFC with the best intentions that (unfortunately) in my opinion, will never, ever work out.
  12. McNally must be looking around, he''s smart and knows that the club have a squad that should stay in the League at the very least - period. There are no ''obvious'' candidates. I like Malky, a Norwich legend, but he isn''t available and I''m not sure about him yet. O''Neill is a curious one. He lost his motivation at Sunderland and looked forlorn and tired. A motivated O''Neill would be a much better proposition for Norwich, but does that O''Neill exist anymore? Holloway would be entertaining, but not necessarily in the results department and that''s what counts. The poster who quoted Derek Llambias is a good one. What seemed harsh at the time towards Hughton, now seems a much more thoughtful and far sighted decision. It will be sad to see Hughton go, but for the sake of the club, he has to.
  13. No Norwich fan I know wants to go back in time, they''re concerned about the here and now, which quite frankly is unsustainable. If we ''looked good'' against Arsenal, then I must of been watching another game. We were so-so, made life easier for Arsenal than we should of done and were generally disappointing. There was little overall to be optimistic about. Norwich City (for whatever reason) isn''t working under Hughton and nothing is going to change whilst he and his coaching team remain. I know several people closely connected to the club - (who would not want to be quoted) that wouldn''t like Hughton to be sacked because ''he is a nice guy'', but when pressed, all agree that nothing is likely to change whilst he remains - which would currently mean relegation. You don''t need a Tardis to see what is staring you in the face.
  14. I wouldn''t agree we ''went for it'' yesterday, only comparatively. We continue to play too deep as a unit and whoever plays upfront is largely isolated. Unless that changes, it''s relegation.
  15. I wouldn''t begrudge Ruddy a move. He is a class act, but looks frustrated and has openly been critical of our style of play. Can''t imagine he''ll leave to sit on the bench somewhere, but this season will almost certainly be the last with us, though a change of manager and approach might help... :)
  16. Say what you like about Hughton, but his ''Sit back and get relegated'' tactics seem to be working rather well. Hughton isn''t the man, regardless of the opposition. While our squad clearly isn''t as good many thought it was, it could play better if the players were more motivated, fitter and tactically more positive. We place the opposition under little pressure and our body language stank again today. The only possible reason for keeping Hughton is that there is no obvious candidate at present to replace him, though I''m sure McNally must be weighing up the options. He has to.
  17. Norwich don''t travel well under Hughton, so we must be realistic, even against Watford. We''re the footballing equivalent of Imodium.
  18. I expected a loss and sadly, that was the case. Villa were what I thought they would be too. Fast, Loose and riding their luck at times, but being positive and getting the result - i.e the win. Lambert always goes for the win. I remember when Norwich played away from home like that too. With that said, I don''t view Villa as nothing special and were there for the taking today. We flattered to deceive to a certain extent and we gradually ran out of ideas in what seems a far from harmonious team and that comes from Hughton. Snodgrass pulling rank over the penalty should never have happened and shows a lack of discipline. I believe we have the players to do rather well, certainly top 10, but as a collective they are rightly or wrongly not buying into Hughton''s philosophy. It just isn''t working and I can''t see it working. The players know this and I''m sure Hughton knows this too. But he has to try. With much regret, the only way to stop this malaise is for Hughton to go.
  19. Most long term fans I''ve canvased seem to come up with the same line: They don''t want Hughton sacked but don''t expect any improvement. What does that mean? Oxymoronic opinions surely?
  20. I think if Hughton doesn''t change things then 2 or 3-1 to Villa. However, I think the way we play and who we start with may be overall more important than the result. Will Hughton learn from previous matches? He has the squad to shake things up, so why not do so? The biggest interest is whether Hooper will start? If he is fit and doesn''t then serious questions will have to be asked. Hooper and Wolf must of asked prior to signing what formation the manager was likely to play. They both must of been told what they wanted to hear, otherwise they wouldn''t of signed. Have they been conned? RvW needs to play with another upfront with a decent midfield providing service - hasn''t happened Hooper needs to play upfront (or just off)- hasn''t happened either. To quote John Lydon ''Ever get the feeling you''ve been cheated?'' - I hope this hasn''t been the case with these two...
  21. The way I see Ruddy''s comments is simple: He wanted to join Chelsea and while guaranteed a starting place here, he knows he is a man in demand and can speak out easier than some other players because he has a lot more going in his favour. I will be amazed if Ruddy is here next season and I don''t think there is genuine reason for him to stay. Other players have been more guarded or cryptic in their criticism - for example remember towards the end of last season when Elliot Bennett said ''If we get six draws we''ll stay up'' spoke volumes - from an winger! I''m glad Ruddy spoke out and I fear he won''t be the last barring a change of attitude and tactics from the current management.
  22. Norwich have always had their fair share of moaners, but they pay their money and are entitled to their opinion regardless of how rational it may or may not be. It should be remembered that being a Norwich fan (or a fan of any club) is not, and never should be, a one way street. Fans pay hard earned cash to watch and support their team and as is the case at the moment with NCFC, are not getting anywhere close to their monies worth. Some fans are over critical, some are the happy clappers, but to go and watch a team and be satisfied regardless of what is put in front of you, is testing loyalty to its upper limits.
  23. Ruddy''s comments after the game are in my view openly critical of the style that Hughton is playing ''With the money we''ve spent and the signings we''ve made we could be more aggressive in our approach'' Other players such as Bassong and Elliot Bennett were critical of Hughton''s tactics in guarded ways towards the end of last year, but Ruddy comments I find may be the tip of the iceberg.
  24. There are no positives! Spurs were good, but not great. Our tactics, mixed with errors, made Spurs have an easy ride. As has been posted many times on here before, Hughton goes for a draw and we lose. I''d rather us go for it and get humped that the dross we served today. Shining a light on how good Spurs were, is looking for excuses. We made it easy for them and we''ll make it for many others. I wonder what McNally make of all this? He must be a tad concerned after the money we''ve spent...
  25. he is not even proven in the Prem yet and a hell of a long way from international football I never said he was England quality, but Hooper was quoted - several times - that he came here to increase his England chances... Whether he is or isn''t good enough for England is another matter, but coming to a club that I believe will only use him as ''back up'' isn''t going to get him into an England jersey. I hope the guy succeeds here as I''m sure everybody else does, but I don''t think it is going to happen under the current manager. I hope I''m wrong!
