  1. I''m surprised that after 18 months any poster is unsure whether Hughton is ''the man'' or not? Even if we scrape survival - unlikely in my opinion - the remit from the start of this season was progression (the club did not budget for relegation - 16th) and he hasn''t done that. In any job that''s P45. I would bet that any current Premiership manager would of got more points out of our squad than Hughton. I don''t want us to lose against Man City whether he gets sacked or not, but this situation should of been dealt with some time ago, but the board appear unable to ''do the necessary''.
  2. Michael Bailey was spot on earlier on the Q&A where he said that two years ago Norwich were better than the some of their parts - now the reverse is true.'' That essentially means that it is a failure in management by Chris Hughton. He underachieves with what he has bought and has no clue how to reverse the situation.
  3. This board merely reflects the mood of what is going on with Norwich City. If this forum has become repetitive and boring then its largely as a result of what it going on with the management, club and on the pitch. There is very little to get upbeat as regards to Norwich City and to pretend that the present situation doesn''t exist is futile.
  4. Our strike rate problem will never be solved while Hughton is in charge - Far too negative a manager at Premiership level for this to be changed.
  5. Anyone siding with Hughton is making excuses. The buck stops with the manager. It isn''t working and never will. The board haven''t budgeted to go down, so have Norwich gone back to being a professional club run by amateurs? They is not one credible reason why Hughton should stay as manager of this football club. OUT!!!!
  6. All I can add to this is what my non Norwich Supporting fans think and they said that we''re not enjoyable to watch and lost the momentum under Lambert. The word ''Stoke'' gets mentioned too many times as well, so that tells you something...
  7. My Newcastle season ticket friend says a lot what you would expect at his time on Tyneside. ''Nice bloke'' ''Somewhat harshly sacked'' ''Over cautious at times, especially away from home'' ''Has a system and sticks to it - No Plan B'' ''His ambitions were more modest compared to the club'' The last comment is the main reason why he got sacked if I recall. Newcastle''s ambitions may be too high in all honesty, but rather that than little club syndrome. We''re not a bigger club than Newcastle or Villa etc., but that doesn''t mean we can''t do better than them. Knowing your place is the Premier League is a load of balls. The overall quality of the League is deteriorating year on year and its hype deflects reality. Hughton is very much a 17 in a game of Pontoon and that isn''t enough for me and shouldn''t be enough for NCFC either. And by the way, my mate says he wouldn''t want him back - Nice guy that he supposedly is.
  8. I''m still waiting to see if Ruddy in the transfer window will be sold as I was told just before his dip in form around the Man City away match. Maybe his indifferent form put a potential move off? The source came from a current squad player, so maybe they were being mischievous!
  9. You wouldn''t sell an always fit Pilkington for £3M, but realistically due to his injury prone status it does influence his value, so for me £4M and a sell on clause and/or extras. More of a worry is that the money would be used to buy a player that lacks flair - pure Hughton territory.
  10. You have to take Mick Dennis ''journalism'' with a pinch of salt and he is so far up the clubs backside that he comes across anything but objective. His ''be careful what you wish for'' stance is somewhat reminiscent of his co-writer Waghorn''s final days in the Roeder era, though to be fair to Rick, he now seems to be fairly objective in his writing approach. MD seems to be discrediting Lambert and using his bias to deflect the heat off Hughton, The Directors and the club in general. Keep and open mind what he writes and more importantly think why he is writing it... As for Wes, I don''t care if they sell him to Villa. Hughton won''t play him, so what is he supposed to do? It''s a bit like an ex girlfriend not wanting you to go out with her mate, even though she no longer wants you. Use it or lose it as the saying goes.
  11. Culverhouse back would be an interesting one. He did do the day to day stuff when here previously and was the ''good cop'' to Lambert''s ''bad cop''. It should be remembered that Lambert was a bit of a ''bastard'' and that they players weren''t exactly fond of him personally, but was highly rated professionally - the opposite situation of what we have under Hughton. The players like him, but.... Had Culverhouse had taken over from Lambert here, it wouldn''t of worked as he would have to go from the players friend to a different role. Coming back to a largely different group of players would be in his favour. I don''t really see this happening, but interesting nevertheless.
  12. Yep. I was pleased we got the three points even though we made awfully hard work of it and as a display it was unconvincing and lacked quality. Hull were poor (though likes they do not travel well) and you can see why we get slaughtered by the bigger sides. I''ve never been a fair-weather fan and it is still Hughton out for me and always will be as he won''t change his negative ways.
  13. Swansea have had a great 18 months which would never happen under Hughton. Their fans would never tolerate such negative, dull and dire football. Any manger of Swansea is given the brief to play attractive, offensive football. That doesn''t always work agreed, but they would not remotely entertain someone with Hughton''s negative philosophy. If Laudrup has managed Norwich from the start of last season you would see a lot more happier faces at Carrow Road - and away - than the utter crap that has been dished up. While changing the manger is no guarantee of staying up, the reason to keep Hughton is futile. It is isn''t working and never will. The club had the best intentions, but it sadly hasn''t worked out. With a degree of hindsight, giving Hughton the budget in the summer was the worst thing the club could of done. He can''t get the best out of anyone, so the money is many ways is wasted, unless somebody else is given the opportunity to prove their worth. I''m sick to the guts of Hughton and is negative, naive football. The sooner he goes, the better.
  14. I remember on elf the directors personally paid Roeder off circa £600K. Hughton won''t resign, a ''mutual agreement'' would take place I should imagine. I remember when Gordon Strachan left Middlesborough (I think) a few years back, he went in the office and torn up his contract. He did not want any composition as the team were not performing. He took responsibility. I had enormous respect for him and cannot imagine another manager doing that. Nice is Hughton is, he''ll stay to be paid off.
  15. For me there is a split in the board which is why Hughton is still manager. The reason for this is the remit for his employment appears to have changed. Last season, it was to keep us up. He did, albeit closer than the league suggested. This season, Bowkett said he wanted improvement on the season before i.e 10th. I don''t recall McNally backing that view up. Today, he announced it is his job to keep us out of the bottom three. Somethings not right here, but my money is that the board don''t know what to do because they don''t collectively agree in whether Hughton should go.
  16. For me - with a degree of hindsight - it was wrong from the very first game away at Fulham. This set the tone for the rest of his tenure. That game showed that the players were not comfortable of playing in the way that Hughton wanted them to. And probably couldn''t understand why they had to play that way either, especially the ones that played under the previous more proactive and offensive manager. Hughton and Norwich have never been the right fit and one would expect his tenure to end very soon. I suspect they may be a split in the board which is why Hughton still has employment here... .
  17. Newcastle were right in sacking him, nice guy or not. Hughton cannot manage at Premiership level because he is too frightened to express himself.
  18. Hughton couldn''t motivate a stripper to get her tits out. He must go!
  19. It''s simple. Hughton isn''t getting remotely the best out of the squad and we will be relegated if he stays. We have absolutely nothing to lose. Any Norwich fan that thinks he can somehow turn everything around is either very easily pleased or doesn''t get out very much. Hughton is finished.
  20. Bassong''s form this season is patchy to disinterested. Playing like someone who has one leg out the door. It''s not good enough, but I suspect he is one of a number of players who do not like Hughtons negative tactics as this leaves the defence with too much to do.
  21. This is a no lose for Lambert, Holt and Villa. Both got the best out of each other so fair play to PL to get him ''back'' so to speak because he has got some stick over this in various quarters. If Holt - and it is an if - plays near his former standard that the best man to achieve that is Paul Lambert. Holt will probably used a cover and an ''impact sub'' one would think. I remember rumours that Lambert and Holt didn''t always see eye to eye, but Holt respects him as a manger rather than a person which is key - a reverse of the current situation at Norwich City under Hughton. I actually want Holt to do well, though not against us...
  22. Could be time for some ironic Hughton chanting at the next home game. ''He''s so nice it''s unbelievable!'' ''We''re Norwich. We draw if we can'' We''re gonna draw in a minute, draw in a minute... I suppose you could call it inverted protest.
  23. So Hughton is irreplaceable now is he? Hughton couldn''t motivate an alcoholic to booze and now he''s the man to get us out of the mess he has got us into with his negative tactics, dreary, gutless, soulless brand of football that the players clearly disagree with but go through the motions. Hughton is more of a director of football, but as a manager in the big time? No way. Him and Norwich City just do not fit and you don''t need a guide dog to see that. It''s a bit like staying in a bad marriage ''because of the kids''. It doesn''t help the kids, though in this example, the kids are footballers, earn £1.5M a year and frankly, couldn''t give a damn. Hughton. Must. Go.
