  1. How do you feel about Newcastle players out of interest? Taking money from a club that’s effectively owned by the Saudi state whilst that state kills children in Yemen.
  2. Because Sara isn’t a DM and while neither is Kenny he has a history of doing a half decent job there.
  3. I read an analysis that showed his underlying stats were nowhere near as bad as people were making out. Ok he’s no Chelsea first teamer but Brighton aren’t mugs and they had a whole season of him with us to judge.
  4. Still a PL player, no idea why people care, he’s gone, move on and get over it. Especially when it wasn’t ever his fault he was here.
  5. Nunez looks an incredible bit of business so if we could only have one…no regrets so far.
  6. Doesn’t matter if they unsettle him, if it’s just a loan with an option why on Earth would we agree.
  7. I think he can still play on the right if needed personally. With Max behind, him naturally moving inside allows Max to overlap, I don’t think he needs pace any more than Sargent does when he plays as basically a wide target forward there.
  8. Potentially means they have agreed a contract with the player they can exercise at the end of the season as part of the loan deal rather than a transfer with NCFC?
  9. We never should have loaned him out, he’s well worth a place in the squad, even at PL level, and it would cost a fortune to get a player who is significantly better. Given how tight finances are, how much he loves the club and his ability level (to what we can afford to replace him with) he should’ve been kept last summer.
  10. Imagine if he had started and then didn’t have the energy to run them ragged for the last 30 when they were tired.
  11. Well we are 7 games into the season and he’s had a bunch of injuries so…no he probably doesn’t yet.
  12. 433 with Ramsey on the left and Dowell and Nunez either side of McClean I assume.
  13. It definitely should be owned by League/organisation not individual clubs, however they need to enter the 21st century and also understand live sport and sport on TV are different products
  14. Arsenal weren’t willing to pay what Villa were apparently, so there was only one door for him to walk through.
  15. I don’t think we have enough now across DM and LB with Gibbs now injured as well. Think it would be super risky to not either bring a LB in or another DM as right now we only have Byram and McClean fit (only just in Byram’s case) to play both positions. There’s no cover for either really.
  16. He said he was on holiday on his last podcast I think.
  17. Yes. It’s a results business at the end of the day.
  18. Said it earlier, sign of a team likely to succeed in a season is you play poorly and still win. Job done. Also some luck equalling out after losing to Cardiff.
  19. Need to go on and win this. Sign of a team likely to win promotion is if you play poorly yet still knick the result when the opportunity comes. We’ve been poor but there’s at least been some determination at the back to keep them out, despite all the gifts we’ve given them. Getting to half time 0-0 given that performance is pretty good all things considered. Now take advantage.
  20. This hasn’t been born out in any similar situations. Spotify basically killed off illlegal music. Video streaming has massively reduced piracy in that space too. Yes it still happens but it’s proven time and again you offer a service that’s better than piracy at a reasonable price the majority will pay. Every pirate isn’t a lost sale though.
  21. Just for clarity I said Gunn and Sargent were good signings in my opinion. I don’t think Rashica was or will turn out to be unfortunately so with you there, I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt he may offer something while he’s here though. I think with Gunn in particular I can see your point, but if you want to build a squad capable of competing in the PL a strong backup keeper is needed. Wasn’t a priority last year though. Just to reiterate my view of last years business is it was poor, but at least long term the money doesn’t look completely wasted, it’s not an endorsement of it.
  22. Treating this year fresh, last year was a massive **** up in my opinion in terms of trying to stay in the PL but at least the money likely isn’t completely lost which is the one small positive. Just on the bench point, you look at the bench against Millwall and 90% of clubs in the Champ would likely want all 7 in their first team. I’m not willing to write off Rashica yet anymore than I was Smith after 3 games. Sargent is obviously proving his worth and Gunn is in my mind the best number 2 in the Champ. The squad is strong for the Championship, that’s a positive to me. It was woefully equipped for the PL but that’s a separate issue.
  23. I’m starting to feel slightly sorry for them, like that coworker you’ve always hated then find out something terrible has happened to them. Derby’s are cool but at this point we only really have something to lose by playing them as eventually they’ll get lucky. I don’t really want even a hint of them ever considering themselves better than us, so on balance I hope they rot there forever and we never join them.
  24. Over the course of his time here think Webber and his team have got more right than wrong and considering every transfer is a gamble that’s a very good record. Even the wrong the damage has been limited. Even the two failed PL windows a lot of the duds were loans so no saddling with long term commitments. Not to mention the stars either brought in and/or developed and sold on his watch for high profit. Last window was a bust in terms of making us competitive for the PL but given where we find ourselves now both Gunn and Sargent were good signings. Tzolis is still an asset, so is Rashica although possibly a depreciating one. This window I’ve been really impressed how focussed his team have been, I was slightly worried he didn’t have the focus. Nunez looks a great bit of business. Sara on paper does look actually like the biggest risk signing of his tenure though, a lot of money for us especially in the Championship. I like what we’ve seen so far though and he was a good save away from opening his account on his last cameo.
