1.
True plastics are Delia lovers who wanted Hughton to remain this time last year, and rather perversely label anyone not of their ilk as some kind of binner. Some of us are true Norwich fans who want genuine passing football played under a proper manager, not some kind of kick and rush bullsh1t ''played'' under the instruction of a local radio commentator. The real binners will be the ones who lapp up this garbage and tell all and sundry how wonderful it all is!
Can I just remind you ''Adnams'' that we actually own today and most of us would like to enjoy our evening reflecting on that. What did you think of the sending off from your seat then? Or the BJ goal? Did you think Grabban''s goal took a deflection? Or were you perhaps nowhere near Carrow Road to see these things? No? Thought not.
2. Hahn Should have guessed from the posting style betraying an exceptionally low IQ!! Will try not to provide fuel to the troll fire again
3.
Doesn''t look like much of a footballer. But if we ever build a new stand then I can imagine Lafferty turning up and being mistaken for one of the brickies!
What utter sh1te His touch, movement and control were all very decent as was his intelligence and bringing others into the game. I fully admit to being unsure about his signing...but today I couldn''t fault him at all. An excellent performance.
4. The bit that I didn''t understand was the unrest (I''m not going to say booing) when Redmond seemed to take the ball into the corner in the final minutes when the crowd seemed to be looking for another goal. I couldn''t make out where it was coming from - certinwly didn''t sound like it was from anywhere around me (I am in the upper Barclay) but it did seem a little odd to me. It sounded different to the booing that Nathan got all game from the Watford numpties who obviously thought he was simply keen to donate some blood! Not sure what it was - or if that is the incident the OP mentions?
5. Sorry to be late - just back off hols Startlingly unoriginal lay I am going for Arsenal to beat palace too Best of luck everyone
6.
Well one thing we can be certain of. if he plays against us he will be superb (and will probably score aginst us)........
Nah...he''ll be injured that week (and most other weeks...)
7. If this means we are determined to keep Nathan Redmond then I''ll hold the door open for him. Was a good player, maybe not as good as he thinks he is, but has an awful injury record and a dodgy attitude. I am not very bothered to see him go
8. Evening everyone I agree with Nutty this week - Anderlecht to win for me too. City bet - half Time grade, full time away win. Good luck all! Ps - nutty will PayPal over my cash once I am back from a trip away next week...hope that''s ok pal?
9. Will PayPal my contribution over to you when I get back off hold Eddie. Will also try to contribute my tips every week this year, unlike the back end of last season ( I blame Hughton!!)
10. Oh and as for Snoddy I will be sorry to see him go but the silver lining hopefully will be the chance to see Elliott. Bennet get some game time to develop... For 8 million quid probably a fair deal for us... I don''t think it is the right deal for him though...Hull have a difficult second season coming up...odds on a second successive reflection for Snods can''t be high!
11. Wiz So let me get this straight in my own mind? You think Norwich should ''rip their arm off'' to sell our PoTS to Hull so that the club can sell out its fans for their 8 million pieces of silver??? Following the logic (crazy even to try with a Wiz OP I appreciate but ...) that can only mean that you are NOT a. Norwich fan surely? QED.
12. Watching England''s bowlers doing exactly the same thing over after over and wondering (along with everyone else apparently) why Cook wasn''t giving Ali a bowl while the tactics seemed to be simply to try to stop Matthews scoring at will instead of actively trying to get him out... I must admit the though of ''whatever happened to plan B'' did occur to me... Certainly Cook shares some of CH more cautious traits I would say!
13. Bloody hell! It actually worked! Last year I had to do that all manually! ( being a technological numpty!) Many thanks Saint and Yankee!
14. I know. Wiz Some on here already have made that clear. But regardless, the board will have made their expectations clear, and those are what Neil and his team need to match, not necessarily those of some of the less realistic fans. That said, if ever a manager really needed a good start to the season it is Neil this year. A strong start will help unite the fans behind him and hopefully we can gather some momentum. A bad start however...*shudders*
15. Hogesar, Smooth I agree with both of you. Fans have different thresholds - as you say Smooth, some wanted Hughton out a long time ago (some never really accepted him, I assume because he wasn''t Lambert), some after Hull, some Christmas, some after Fulham, Man City etc. Everyone''s opinion is different. WBA became the tipping point. For what it''s worth having kept faith for so long I felt the board should have held their nerve through till the end if the season and then said thanks, time to move on. (Which seemed to be their preferred option from what MWJ said in the canary call special) But the point remains the same...there will be a point beyond which a managers tenure will not be allowed by a board. What we don''t know is what that point is fir NA in the Championship. But personally I hope he gets a fair chance and that the fans show him patience too.
16. Wiz, trying to follow your twists and turns is a little confusing! But I stand by my point....either Adams is the man or he isn''t...he has been appointed and surely deserves more than 10 games to begin the job of turning the ship back around? What happens if he hasn''t - another interim for another 10 games? Then another? Then another? And what is your threshold? Top of the league? Top 6? Top half? Scoring loads of goals? Winning games but playing dull? We have appointed the bloke. Now we need to trust him to get it right in the long-term. He will have targets set by the board for the first season and those will determine his future, not some arbitrary targets dreamt up by us!
17. Quote Wiz Its 10 games from me.
To everything, turn, turn, turn...
Adams will be the next Walker...........IN TIME! Sorry - technology and quote buttons not my strength.... But my point Wiz is... Eh? Neil Adams will be the next Walker..,,IN TIME??? So how the gubbins does ''IN TIME'' equate to 10 games??? By this logic you expect Adams to be the next Walker by the end of September. Wow! I am looking, forward to this!
18. Surely the club have put a new structure in place, with new personnel, and now we need to get behind it and SUPPORT our club? Some of those moaning seem ok be getting an awful lot,of pleasure out of doing so? I like the thinking behind the new ''leadership team'' and with a rookie manager in charge it surely makes great sense it surround him with such a team to allow him to focus on the key bit of the job or to go to for advice (surely Royle''s role as an experienced, trusted consultant?) I wish them all luck. If nothing else it appears to me that the board are putting plenty of support structure around Neil, which makes me think that this isn''t a short term appointment - even if the first 10 games don''t go according to plan?
19. Me too! Fair play to Adams for thinking through where his weaknesses might be and finding staff to complement these. I hope the sum of their parts can be something good.
20. Surely one of the things about very very rich people is that they are pretty confident about getting their own way? I would be astonished if a potential investor decided not to make an approach because the current owner might not like it very much? Whether it fits your agenda or not, surely a more plausible scenario is that suitors with more money than sense (nobody really ever makes a personal profit from owning a football club, do they?) are rather scarce? Like it or not however, we are going to have to confront this scenario at some point, as smith and jones are getting on aren''t they!
21. Did she not say that the club would welcome investment from anyone with NCFC interests at heart? My understanding is that the board will welcome investment - as long as it the right kind of investment... With FFP it makes little or no sense to go chasing millionaire investment if the clubs trading income can''t support the rises in outlay? I am no expert on the rules going forward but we need to be very careful in soliciting new investment. Newton, are you suggesting that anyone would do as long as a) they have loads of cash and b) they aren''t Delia smith?
22. Indeed - which is surely the purpose of a forum! Incidentally I forgot to include our educationally sub normal suffolk neighbours in my original list of how not to find investment, Bottom line - you need to be mighty careful who you allow into your club.
23. Ok Wiz - that is on the face of it a fair point. Let''s look at them Hull - owned by a local businessman who nevertheless still wants to change the clubs name, and who is underwriting the clubs outgoings. Has divided the fans and threatened to leave and take his money with already this season Aston villa - Lerner has had enough and is looking to sell to anyone who, will give him enough. I don''t think anyone can say that his time in charge of villa has brought joy and success can they? An object lesson in how having a rich foreign owner does NOT bring automatic success Qpr. - Fernandes isn''t some random foerign billionaire., he is a massive qpr fan who sits in the stands. And even then if he were to withdraw his financial backing, how deep would the sh1t be that qpr would be in then? Southampton - a great success story I grant you. But underwritten by an amazing youth system bringing through outstanding players on a regular basis. Who they still then sell on. And remember the furores earlier in the season when the original investor passed on and the family wanted to change things...not s settled situation either... So i would still rather stick with what we''ve got. If a truly benevolent, ultra rich, norwich city mad investor wants to commit his bank balance to the fuze then great....not aware of any though?.
