I’m still very concerned with the lack of creativity in this squad but one thing we should not be unlike the last few seasons is lightweight and powderpuff. Looking at the squad so far we have: Gunn, Hanley, Gibson, Omobamidele, Duffy, Stacey, Barnes, Sargent, Sorenson, Idah, McClean, Sara, Giannoulis all around the 6ft plus mark. Most of these will be regular starters week in week out and with Wagners up and at them approach we should be no pushovers. Plus we should be much more of a threat from set pieces this season with Duffy, Stacey and Barnes hopefully chipping in with some goals and assists. I don’t believe we are too far away from assembling a really strong competitive squad for the season ahead. 2 or 3 quality loan/permanent additions and we will have a chance.

We are seriously lacking creativity in the final third as was proven at the end of last season and early stages of preseason. Could Rashica be the player to change that. If he doesn’t get a move this summer and he comes back with the right attitude and a point to prove he could be dynamite at Championship. Add in two strong players up top in Sargent and Barnes it could be a perfect setup.

I agree with S_81, if Bali is played out of position next season i.e right or left back then serious questions need to be asked. He needs to be utilised higher up the pitch to benefit from his pace and trickery, championship sides would target his height if deployed in a back four.

Add Tzolis, Gunn, Rowe, Tomkinson and Placheta to that list. Sign 4 or 5 experienced, vocal leaders to that group to form the spine of the team and we have the makings of a good Championship squad. Looking forward to the summer to see what unfolds.
