  1. Thecanaryfan finds it funny that some fans are calling for a mass cull of players. The next sentence he then states that 3 players will be released with a further 4 players being sold. Thats a total of 7 players by my reckoning! If thats not a massive change in a squad of 25 then I don''t know what is.
  2. Some interesting players who are out of contract in the summer. Rolando Aarons - Newcastle Utd Tomas Rosicky - Arsenal Adrian Mariappa - Crystal Palace João Carlos Vilaça Teixeira - Liverpool Ahmed Elmohamady - Hull City Tom Huddlestone - Hull City Moussa Dembele - Fulham Fabio - Cardiff City Craig Noone - Cardiff City Kelvin Wilson - Nottingham Forest
  3. Being reported today that a fee of 1.5 million would be enough to prize him away from carrow road.
  4. I would be happy with that also but there is not a cat in hells chance that all of those players will be here next season. Some will be off on there own accord and some will be sent packing.
  5. Simply not good enough. This squad has shown over the last three seasons that they are not up to the task and are defensively/offensively very poor. At times in the championship season we were woeful. Todays performance was a shambles and the lack of effort is very alarming. I am starting to get concerned as to whether Alex Neil is the right man for the job but we must give him more time to put things right. I just hope that the players are 100% behind him. After todays performance there was not one player on that pitch who I would be sad to see leave the club in the summer. However the two players that I believe the club must pull all the stops out to try and keep are both presently out injured. They are Howson and Klose. These two should be retained at all costs and should become the mainstay of the team. We need a strong spine and build around them. Howson should also be made captain. I have heard comments today that we only need to make 2-3 changes over the summer and we will be challenging for promotion again. I strongly disagree with this. If we only make 2-3 changes again then surely we are following in the same pattern as the past few seasons. We need a change of direction/philosophy and this can only be achieved with a change of personnel.
  6. Being reported this morning that Rangers are after some experience and have targeted both Graham Dorrans of Norwich City and Joey Barton of Burnley. Would be excellent signings for them. As for Dorrans leaving, has only been a bit part player for us this season but could be a key player in the Championship. If he is to leave then 2 million is a minimum.
  7. Moussa Dembele Assombalonga Abel Hernandez Cam Jam
  8. Newcastle away for me. The players and more importantly Alex Neil lost his bottle/confidence after that. Started messing around with different players/tactics/formations especially away from home which resulted in some really poor/negative performances. We then lost all momentum. I still cannot help thinking that if he had stuck to his guns and continued to attack teams the way we did in the championship and at the beginning of the season then we would have finished mid table.
  9. OUT: Whittaker, Bassong, Mulumbu, Turner, Lafferty, Wisdom, Bamford, Andreu, Martin, Hoolahan, VanWolfswinkel, Redmond 10million plus POSSIBLE IN''S: Biram Diouf, Mohammed Diame, Tom Ince, Moussa Dembele, Kieran Tierney, Jordan Ibe (loan), Danny Ings, Tom Lees, Lewis Dunk, Gaston Ramirez, James Ward Prowse,
  10. I would setup something like this: Ruddy Martin Bennet Bassong Ollson O''Neil Howson Redmond Hoolahan Brady Mbokani Subs: Naismith, Jerome, Pinto, Voo, Jarvis, Rudd
  11. Player of the season for me and he still scored goals when played out wide even if it is not his preferred position. Will do a job for you whatever position you put him in. Should be team/club captain next season!!!!
  12. Very impressed with Dele Alli looks absolutely class. Hope to see Vardy given a run out tonight.
  13. Hart Cahill Stones Smalling Clyne Drinkwater Rose Ox- Chamberlain Ali Wellbeck Kane Subs: Henderson, Milner, Bertand, Vardy, Rooney, Sturridge, Barkley
  14. Butland should be No1. Best English goalkeeper by a mile and that includes Hart!
  15. I still think there is a high chance that Bennet will play. Alex Neil did not fully rule him out. I would go with: Ruddy Martin Bennet Klose Ollson Jarvis Howson O''Neil Brady Hoolahan Bamford. Pinto to be used off the bench to replace either Jarvis or Brady. Also gives us options to go 3-5-2 if need be.
  16. 0-2 City. Perfect away performance. Bamford and Jerome on the scoresheet.
  17. Exactly what I was thinking on Saturday TGD when Redmond limped off. I would have loved to have seen Pinto come on instead of Dorrans in a more attacking role. Think that position would suit him very well and we would certainly have pace down that left hand side with Ollson behind him. Plenty of options though for Alex Neil to decide from. Jarvis on the Right, Brady on the left with Pinto the option off the bench for me. Not Dorrans please!
  18. I just hope that Saturday was not the last time we see Redmond in a yellow and green shirt. Hopefully he will be back before the seasons out.
  19. A hammer blow no doubt as he has really looked up for the fight these last few weeks however this maybe a blessing in disguise. When Jarvis moved to the right hand side on Saturday, him and Martin looked very strong together and looked a good partnership. This would then allow Brady to play in his favoured position (best) left midfield with Ollson behind. Again a strong partnership. I just hope that Alex Neil will go with this and not revert back to the crazy decision of playing either Hoolahan, Howson or Dorrans in a wide position from the start.
  20. I think the 6-2 away defeat at Newcastle has had a massive impact on Alex Neil, ever since that damaging defeat he has definitely changed his mindset on how he approaches away matches now. Much more conservative now with a mindset of trying to contain and then break on the counter. I think this has been the biggest factor in our recent poor away record. We can only presume now what the results might have been if Alex Neil had continued with same away attacking intent that he at the start of his reign with us.
  21. Norwich 3 -1 Man City. Bamford to get a couple.
  22. Best striker we have had this season and has deserved more of a chance than he has been given. One of the reasons for our poor form is Alex Neil''s decision to keep playing Jerome. Yes, he may well work hard but that counts for nothing if he cannot convert the chances that he has had. I bet Mbokani has a far superior conversion rate than Jerome has. Would love to see Mbokani and Bamford given a chance to form a partnership now until the end of the season. If Mbokani was 4 years younger then I am sure Norwich would be trying a lot harder to keep hold of him at the end of the season.
  23. The whole squad would need overhauling. We would need a powerful, pacy, commanding centre back to play alongside Klose, a powerhouse in midfield, goalscoring box to box midfielder, a playmaker, a winger who can play either side, a marquee striker and a centre forward who can lead the line, two full backs and a CAPTAIN. That''s just for starters. Happy to keep Ruddy and Rudd though! If we are to stay up then the new signings would have to be a step up in class from what we have now and walk straight into the team.
  24. It''s absolutely nowhere near the time to give up yet. We are still very much in this and considering we have 1 point from a possible 27 its amazing that we can say that. Just goes to show how poor Newcastle and Sunderland are performing but they have picked up more points than us lately and that should still give us hope. If they cannot pull away from us even when we have not won for 9 games then its still very much in our own hands. I just hope that Alex Neil picks his favoured starting 11, decide on a formation/set of tactics and stick with it now until the end of the season. A settled side will do everybody the world of good. Neil''s decision to start tinkering and changing personnel from that heavy Newcastle defeat early on in the season is the reason we are in this mess. This Norwich squad are capable of far far greater performances and results than we have been seeing. OTBC! Norwich 2 -1 Man City. Here''s hoping.
  25. Going to put my neck on the line here but I still believe we will stay up. Starting with a positive result against Man City. Don''t know why but I just have a gut feeling we will do it. We have been on such a poor run of results lately I just cannot see that sustaining much longer. Bamford has to play from now on and he looked dangerous when he came on. I do not believe he is suited to the lone striker role so will need support. Mbokani possibly, Jerome and Naismith to drop to the bench as they have been very poor lately. Hoolahan and Redmond must play as they are most dangerous/creative going forward. Hard to fit those four attack minded players into the same team but surely they represent our best chances going forward. I would like to see a team consisting of: Ruddy Pinto Bennet Klose Olsson Howson O''Neil Redmond Bamford/Hoolahan Brady Mbokani/Bamford
