  1. He’d probably end up sticking himself upfront after 1 game
  2. did you miss the Newcastle game? That was probably the worst 90 minutes I’ve seen from a team in a premier league match ever. Including Norwich…
  3. I think we can probably go ahead and change the thread title now… Statical annihilation?
  4. At half time I really didn’t expect this to be the outcome of Farke’s return to Carrow Road, now it makes sense…
  5. Pleasantly surprised by the performance, even more so by the scoreline. If we’re being honest the balance of chances has probably got things pretty level at the minute, we’ve just edged out with better finishing on the day so far, but when you enter the game expecting a thumping it’s still a great place to be! I’m sure BigFish is going to have a fun evening sifting through this thread later. What a legend.
  6. We’ve fallen off a cliff since Morgan left and Buttler came in…
  7. It’s called ‘climate change’ not ‘weather change’ for a reason. There is quite a big difference. For instance, if someone now went the next several years posting on here 3-4 times a week, rather than their usual 30-40 times a day, that might be considered a change in their posting ‘climate’. You can’t deny that clear change just by pointing out a day or two where they didn’t post during times they posted more regularly, because those days are an exception to the overall trend of posting far too often (i.e. only a change in ‘weather’). Hope it makes more sense for you in Pink’un form.
  8. Yep this is a good point, even if Forshaw did HAVE to come off, it is bizarre that Gibbs wasn’t the pick so as to not unsettle the centre of the pitch. We were on top at that moment in the game, the scoreline was narrow and it was only the 57th minute so to chop up so much at once seemed a real strange one…
  9. 3 changes seems a lot at once, for 57 minutes, with us very much in the ascendancy. Hope it doesn’t impact our momentum!
  10. Rowe feels to me like his initial run of form went to his head just a little bit. He plays incredibly casually at times of late, with an air of confidence which maybe bleeds into arrogance at times, but not necessarily always with the quality that backs it up. I don’t recall feeling like this in his early season form but could be wrong!
  11. Nice goal! Much much better, amazing what a difference a goal makes isn’t it
  12. Good goal, well deserved as well although it has been constipated football at times
  13. Fassnacht has been a passenger for weeks now. No idea what he offers other than being vaguely okay at tracking back defensively, reminds me a bit of Rupp when he first joined us in the prem playing as a right winger… I’m sure there’s plenty of room and time for improvement but everything he does in possession right now just feels really ‘meh’ and nowhere near up to the standard needed if he is going to offer any kind of threat at this level…
  14. Nutty I replied to sweary before I even got to the second page. I don’t see what honouring a charity bet promised has to do with a footballing rivalry; rather basic human decency! Of course he should pay up!
  15. Sweary you have summarised my thoughts exactly here. It’s proper playground stuff, I’m all for throwing a few insults but as you say it does genuinely feel like people are taking it 100% seriously. How anyone could be offended by it does not compute with me… Akin to football Twitter and premier league fans going on to each other about trophies / how good their players are compared to their rivals etc etc, is this constant **** measuring ever achieving anything for anyone? Football has a massive problem with tribalism and fan behaviour and clearly far too many people can’t seem to be able to control their tiny penis energy. To me a sporting rivalry should involve banter and ****-taking, putting off / jeering at the other team, but end in handshakes. Other sports do it great, just look at cricket and rugby with home and away fans mixing AND drinking allowed in the stands. Could you imagine how some of the wombles you see in the stands would behave if they were within reach of rival fans and were allowed to drink during the match?? It’s embarrassing. Bit of a side point and I’m not saying anyone on this thread would behave like this at all, but feel the kind of hatred casually seen between football fans does feed into idiots feeling like their idiotic actions are justified on a match day. Obviously it’s a shame for those on here who I’m sure are fully capable of throwing and taking insults whilst keeping any emotions from boiling over; but as always a small portion ruin it for the masses!
  16. Its interesting as it feels like in other respects the premier league is more competitive than it ever has been. The gap from the champs to the prem is definitely widening, but the gap from the 'best' to the 'rest' in the prem itself is probably the shortest its been in maybe the last 20 years? We've gone from a very settled top 4/6 teams with the teams like Everton, Newcastle or Aston Villa at best finishing 7th with the occasional unnatural season, to having several really competitive teams who look like they could upset the status quo. We've already seen it with Leicester but this season alone we have Brighton, Aston Villa, West Ham, Newcastle (ok money I know) who all look like they could upset the normal order. Unfortunately this improvement in the mid-table sides has just made it harder for the promoted teams, and it doesn't help that the championship seems to have weakened massively since COVID as well. Its also hard to see how this current cycle is going to break, it seems more likely that the gap will be widening before shortening!
  17. Things could be worse… Because we could be in the premier league? Wouldn’t you trade league places with any of those teams? (Ignoring the fact that our squad right now would be violated in the PL)
  18. Gunn is far from the problem IMO. Up to yesterday we’d been one of the most defensively sound teams in the league, our chance concession was amongst the lowest going! Think I’d change the majority of the outfield before I got to Gunn…
