    18 Games played this season. 9 Goals , 3 assists .

in this current climate and with his pedigree/ previous price tags 7-8 million euros seems about right maybe even cheap.

As @JonnyJonnyRowe mentions, I don’t necessarily think his performance this season could ever dictate such a fee. I’ll be pleasantly surprised if we get more than £3-4 million for him. But it also wouldn’t surprise me if we couldn’t even shift him for that…

When was the last time we sold a star player for £xxxx millions that resulted in an improvement in performance, results and prospects.

    Well, I'll tell you.

    Never.

    Maddison?

For the record I don’t think selling Rowe will give rise to a similar post-Maddison improvement in our fortunes, but it has happened fairly recently…

I cant help but feel there's still a good % of fans who wanted their blood so badly they just cant let it go.They wanted Wagner sacked and they half don't want him to succeed because then they'd look as stupid as...they actually are.

This feels bang on to me

    I disagree.

The audible, "Oh, god. Not Gibson,"  sentiment that went around the ground was entirely justified.

Can't see Gibson being given another contract in the summer.

Wow. No it was not - the guy is a human ffs - he 100% would’ve heard that reaction. What is he supposed to think? What are the rest of the team supposed to think?

No matter how bad you think the player coming on, as a fan / supporter that is not something you could ever justify. It’s so poor.  And it wasn’t ‘just’ a very audible groan but booing as well.

I can understand it when a player has cocked up a few times in the game and **** up again (I.e. Duffy playing a simple pass straight out of play twice today), or maybe if it’s annoyance at the tactics of the substitution rather than the player, but when they’re literally just being subbed on in a game we’re 2-0 up and comfortable in? Come on!

I’m sure he won’t be renewed regardless of whether the fans react like that, why not get behind the team and players in a match we are clearly coasting in?

I didn't hear it, but poor form if it did take place. Maybe the booing was more about Sara coming off than Gibson coming on?  Either way, it seemed a logical substitution to me given how important it is to keep Sara fresh.

Unfortunately the groans happened as Gibson’s name was announced and as he was coming on to the pitch - no doubt about that

  6. Anyone else at the game today notice the reaction of the crowd when Gibson came on? Doesn’t seem like many posted about it on the match thread but it was an absolutely dreadful reaction around me. Where I was sitting it sounded like a few boos but the most audible noise was a very loud collective groan / sigh. Like as if he’d already booted the ball out of play stupidly or something, but he was just… running on to the pitch?

To be completely honest it sounded like it was coming from the whole stadium not just around me but I could be wrong.

If any of this breed of idiot are posting on here then please just why? Our best home performance since the start of the season, the first time the fans and players have been pulling together in a long while and then that? What on Earth must Gibson feel like coming on to that?? And what about the rest of the players? I can’t fathom how they didn’t hear it. Just really poor from some of our fans, shame on you if this was you, do better!!

Interesting. So you honestly think that people get suspended and banned for calling Gilmour ****?

    Not a chance.

I've been dealing with personal abuse and practically been stalked here for two years, for reasons unbeknownst to me, by a mob containing you

I post. All of a sudden it's chased by someone insulting me for no reason.

I know it. You know it. The rest of the Algonquin Round Table know it and so do the mods.

You're just a bunch of trolls.

Have I ever asked for an apology? Nope. Partly because I know I wouldn't get one. The main reason, though, I genuinely don't care what you and the brain trust say.

Just to reiterate, I didn't say anything about your illness. Nor was I making light of it. So I have absolutely no reason to reproach myself, and I sure as hell have no reason to apologise.

    Namaste.

Your continued denial of the cancer comments is sickening. The fact you cannot see this is deeply worrying. I’d love you to direct everyone to the abuse that is anything remotely as horrible and vindictive as what you said to GO, and bearing in mind how casual his original comment was to you about why he owned a Scotland shirt?? Show me a poster going from 0 to 100 like what you did there to them, you absolutely cannot. .

It’s funny, there have been a few non-Norwich fans who have frequented here in the past and had absolutely no trouble whatsoever. I can think of a Leeds fan and a Brentford fan who have spent some time on here, clubs who we have rivalled with far more closely than United in recent years, yet received absolutely no abuse nor had any complaints about any of the posters on here.

Walk in the street on the way to work and you bump into an arsehole, chances are they’re an arsehole. Walk in the street on the way to work and everyone you bump into is an arsehole, chances are it is you who is the arsehole

When is it going to click that you’re the common denominator here?

Not really. As I said, speculation. You jumped to a conclusion which reflects more on you than It does me.

I have no idea what that means. When did we speak? On second thoughts, don't answer that. I don't care.

Regardless, all evidence points to me saying nothing. 🙂

The lesson here is to be careful who you dish it out to. Especially if you're unable to take it.

What were you talking about then? What other ‘sensitive thing’ did GO say to you in DMs, and what other ‘ailment’ is it you ‘hope doesn’t return’?

Can you actually imagine how you are making this poor person feel right now? Gaslighting them into thinking they’re the one with the issue when it’s very clear exactly what you meant. Most people would’ve sincerely apologised for the comment immediately and taken it down. Well, actually 99.99% of people would never have said anything as sick as that in the first place.

    also, this slightly threatening comment at the end;

The lesson here is to be careful who you dish it out to. Especially if you're unable to take it.’

To be clear, you brought up GO’s cancer because he… get ready… jokingly explained to why he had a Scotland t shirt and that he isn’t really a Scotland fan??? And your response was the correct one was it? Can you not see the difference in gravity of the comments? You must be heavily on some kind of spectrum if you can’t see that, seriously?

Then you have the audacity to continually play the victim on here. Why don’t you just **** off? You don’t even support Norwich, I have no idea what you’re getting out of your time on here, other than the fact you actually enjoy the negative attention you instigate. I guess that wouldn’t surprise me, this could well be the only social stimulation you receive in your life...

Hopefully this is the watershed moment that causes the authorities to sort football's attitudes to referees out, as opposed to a ref being killed, which isn't beyond the realms of possibility with how things seem to be going.

I've said for years that the abuse referees get is disgusting from players, coaches and fans alike. They're human beings who mistakes, just like coaches and players, but you don't seem the level of vitriol directed towards a striker missing a chance or a midfielder misplacing a pass. Fans tend to accept that it will happen sometimes, but if a ref gives a 50-50 decision the wrong way, or even worse, a 70-30, it's unforgivable.

Nowadays with VAR, it's made it even worse, because everyone has a different interpretation of what's a 'clear and obvious error', from fans, coaches and even the refs themselves, so when 60-40 decisions are reviewed, or not reviewed, it just causes more arguments. Referees are under more pressure than ever before and it can't help them make decisions quickly in the heat of the moment when they know they're going to get pelters from one side regardless of the decision they make.

There was supposed to be a clampdown on dissent this season, and there was for a couple of weeks in August, but this seems to have been forgotten about already. Players can shout abuse at the ref without punishment, which makes fans think it's okay and encourages kids to do the same.

FIFA really need to do something about this now, with stronger punishments for dissent and attempts made to improve the relationships between coaches/players and referees, because right now it's awful.

Broadcasting the ref's mic live would be a good start in my opinion (on a delay of a few seconds so any strong language can be blocked) so everyone can hear the ref's explanation and maybe make players think twice about their behaviour if they know everything they say is being broadcast.

    Very well said!

  10. No way - regardless of who is in charge a loss on Saturday would be entirely unsurprising so where does any blame come in?

I also don't think Knapper can be blamed for not immediately making a knee jerk decision RE the management, having just joined the club, yes Wagner probably won't be here after this season but there's a hell of a lot for Knapper to get through already before giving himself even more unstable ground to work on. Let him at least familiarise himself with his role, his staff and the squad - I'm sure a better understanding of the team would play a part in his decision making when it does eventually come to getting a new coach?

Also is anyone 100% convinced that a new manager would be able to improve us that much anyway? I think we'll do well to even stay close-ish to the play-offs and can see this season panning out much like the last one... IMO no need to rush any decisions - unless results completely tank but we've at least scraped by these past few weeks.

I have no idea of what was said and I am not going to search this thread to find out. Nevertheless, however unpleasant it was you have sunk to the same level with the obscenity you have chosen to express your disgust.

I disagree and don’t care, sorry. They 100% deserved it, GO most definitely didn’t - that’s the difference. Maybe you should go back and check page 4 yourself before wading in?

  12. @TheDarkKnight

Please leave and never return. Totally unacceptable comments to @GodlyOtsemobor; as vile a thing you could possibly say. And 2 pages later there’s no apology, no back track, not even the slightly inkling of regret or indication that you may have done something wrong despite several posters pointing it out.

GO explained to you why they owned a Scotland shirt and you thought that was an acceptable response, trying to expose their deep personal matter that they shared with you in confidence in a PRIVATE message? With a passive aggressive comment about hoping it doesn’t come back for good measure? What the **** were you expecting? Cor yeah that really showed GO didn’t it? You very clearly don’t have any friends otherwise you might understand why this is totally and utterly wrong.

Fortunately GO has responded as best as anyone could, and in their words; you are a C U N T.

Please just **** off this forum and don’t come back. Ever.
