  1. That depends on how you view what booing is all about. For a lot of people it's the ultimate expression of negativity. For others it seems to be the first port of call when there is the slightest thing they are unhappy about. I'm in the first group, viewing booing as being a last resort and should be reserved for opposition players and bad officiating. Booing your own side, whether it's the manager or players, seems so ridiculous, unless things are really bad. Not a big deal? Ask the players and manager - they will tell you it is a big deal.
  2. Just think before you boo..........if you are capable of thinking. Booing is the most damaging thing you can do during a match. I see people laugh it off as if it isn't important - that booing is just part and parcel of going to football matches - a bit like children going to a pantomime and cheering the good guys and booing the villains. Thats all well and good at pantomimes - it is expected ! I'll agree that football is like a pantomime sometimes - but the villains are the opposition, not your own!!!! Booing is damaging - because it gets under people's skins - so if you want to boo something, boo the opposition. Think about it - it makes sense.
  3. I haven't looked it up, but I'm pretty sure his promotion with Huddersfield was from a similar position to us, just off the play offs until the last week or two, then winning the play offs. Unless my memory is playing tricks!
  4. We broke you. It certainly looks like that. They were flying until we played them, yet since then, their league results from that day have been mediocre to say the least. One win in ten matches...... 2-2, 0-4, 1-1, 0-0, 0-0, 1-3, 2-1, 1-1, 2-3 and 2-2. That's not much above relegation form...... ........and let's not forget the Maidstone match.......
  5. How much more central do you want? Carrow Rd is hardly out of town.....
  6. My fault, I guessed it was about 45 miles, but at 52 miles, I wasn't wildly out.
  7. Much of Scotland is beautiful. I don't think you could include Aberdeen though! You only have to drive ten minutes from Aberdeen and you are in beautiful countryside.
  8. The way 1p5wich's results have been going recently and if they continue like that, they will be lucky to get 75 points, which this season may not be enough for the play offs. And it is that tight, anyone from 4th downwards is still in the running. At least we look a bit more like genuine contenders now. Leicester, Southampton, Leeds top three by a country mile. The rest is up for grabs.
  9. Just to say it is not grim up north, not here anyway - and Sheffield is not really "up north", being only 45 miles north of Norwich. Might as well say "Cromer is up north"........it is north, but not by very much. 😀
  10. Yeah, that was me, I don't like to see musclebound footballers......
  11. I think he is better than most of you are suggesting and I would predict a top six club - Spurs, Liverpool perhaps. His skill levels are exceptional - some of the best imo - and in a top team where the levels are high, he would fit in well. When he goes on a run, he looks almost unstoppable - speed of foot and agility - and he almost always either scores or get a good strong shot in on target at the end of it. We should though do all we can to hang on to him at least until the summer when his value should have gone up. Such a shame we get good players - really good in his case - and then sell them on almost as soon as they start to do well.
  12. Its what we all see. I see signs of him coming good, but it's not been enough to think he's got the right mentality to be the number one striker, or at least a very good second choice. But he has scored goals on a limited amount of minutes, so he must have something! I can't see him doing it at Celtic, unless he attacks games aggressively and goes for it. To win over fans there he is going to need to put himself about a bit, something he hasn't done enough of with us. Sometimes, yes, but often not. Good luck to him though!
  13. We all act differently under different circumstances and I don't think we should be judging the way managers react to goals at a football match. To me he was clearly deeply involved in that match and keeping his emotions in check and there's nothing wrong with that imo.
  14. He did both. Holland after us. Yes, but my supporting RVW as a decent striker for us was based on the evidence from before he was with us.
  15. RVW was in Portugal, not the Netherlands - and his quality of finishing in the videos that came out of Portugal was far better than what is on show in this video.
  16. Sometimes there are situations in life where people bottle tension up so much that they can't let it out. Simple as that really. Normally, he celebrates goals as much as any passionate fan, but this match was something different - against the top club in the country and even if we scored one or two, he knew we were still going to be up against it - hence the lack of outward celebrating. People can view it how they like, but that was my take on it.
  17. You show no understanding of the pressure a football manager is under - and no understanding of body language either. No understanding of me for that matter. There's a message there.
  18. Judging by that video, the standard of defending in the Eridivese looks pretty awful. I hope he does well for us, but I can't see him making a huge difference or a regular starter for us. We'll see......
  19. I don't think you understand human nature if you can't see that playing a team like Liverpool might make him very tense, even when we score. The fact that his best mate is also the manager is an add on to that, not the main story, but I think you knew I meant that and are just goading me, so fill your boots.....
  20. What on earth makes you makes you think he wasn't 100% dedicated to Norwich on Sunday? Yes, it was his best mate, but it was still against Liverpool, arguably the best club in the country at the moment. If you were in charge, you might be a little tense too! To me he was holding it together more than anything else.
  21. Have you actually seen him during matches? He is normally totally involved and full of reaction. The guy was so tense on Sunday - it was a huge occasion for him, playing Liverpool and against his best friend - and he knew that despite us scoring that it was going to be a tough afternoon.
  22. That's called fear. Yes, we'd equalised, but he knew what was coming......
  23. Passion is clear in everything Wagner does. He cares and shows it. I never really got that feeling with Smith. Sorry, but that is how it appeared to me. Imo Smith should have taken a break after Villa to recharge his batteries. Farke had just taken us to a record breaking season and had ten games of the most difficult circumstances possible - covid disrupted preseason, injuries, no prep with Kabak and Normann, loss of Buendia and Skipp, weakness at the time of Sargent and Tzolis - and almost the most difficult starting fixtures imaginable. We were just coming out of that phase of the season - we even got the elusive win that might have kick started the season. And we sacked Farke....for nothing.
