[I kind of agree but if you cant celebrate and be happy about a 2-0 win away from home when can we? ] Of course I''m happy we won, just don''t think we have the right man steering the ship, again reverted back to two banks on the edge of the 18 yard box, no pressure and were outplayed for the majority of the match. If others see it different, fine.

3. Can one person on this forum, hand on heart say we deserved the win? we were awful, same old mistakes, defending way to deep and got very lucky. Look at the stats.. When his job is on the line, he attacks, but as soon as we get a lead it''s the same old negative Norwich. This is the best squad we''ve ever had, but they are playing with one hand tied around their balls. On another day we would have conceded five (again)
4. He''s turned it. we''re going to be fine this season
5. He was awesome today. Don''t know how many of you have seen fight club, but those that have, remember the scene where they all start repeating "His name was Robert Paulson".....
6. I thought the same at first Wiz regarding Hooper. But then we were protecting a lead against a side who are predominantly good in the air, so to bring on Elmander, who’s good in the air was quite a shrewd move.
7. It’s simple, press higher like we did today, get the back line up, we’ll get players in the box so we’ll create more chances. I think the change in mind set has only been apparent in the last 3 games, so it will take a bit of time to adjust.
8. There has been positives in both of our last two games, we we’re unlucky against Villa and the way we approached the game was a vast improvement. Also winning against albeit a second string Watford team but doing so after going behind (When does that happen)? I think he’s changed his mind set, probably due to the fact he knows his jobs under pressure. We’ve got the players to do it, just a case of whether or not he’s lost the dressing room. I think we might sneak it today.
9. I’ve been a big doubter of Hughton for a long time, and would be happy to see him leave, but… I really think there were some signs of improvement on Saturday, Ok we lost, but the manner in which we did so was a vast improvement on anything we’ve seen this season, including Everton which personally I think we were very lucky to draw against and Southampton could of gone either way but we shaded it, Villa apart from the result, I think we beat. What made us lose was Lambert’s tactical knowledge. We score a lot of goals from set pieces, so what does he do? Put’s two 6 foot plus forwards on, canny bas**** Did anyone else hear Hughton shout “Try and get your body between the player and the ball”. Jeez, if my Sunday league manager said that to me I’d look at him weirdly. Ok, it’s true, but that’s the sort of coaching you give 6 year olds. The camps clearly unhappy, can you imagine Lambert letting any player dictate who takes a penalty? This may come across as a Lambert love in, but what I’m trying to say is we have all the tools to stay in this league with the right leadership. We played better, and pressed a lot more as a home team should. But I think it was more of a sign of desperation on Hughton’s part that we did so as he realises he’s effectively fighting for his job, not his tactical nouse. One final point, look at the team that started our first game the first season when we went up, how many would get into our current starting line up? Not many, but I never thought we’d go down and that was down to leadership, something we sorely miss.
10. I can’t stand André Villas-Boas, but he made us look like mugs today, I just hope it isn’t going to become a president. Were so easy to suss out. We sit so deep that a lot of the time our only out ball is Ruddy, at one point today he was being closed down by two Spurs players which in turn lead to long balls giving away possession and inviting wave after wave of attack. It doesn’t matter how much money they’ve spent what they did first and foremost was out work us. Today was a blueprint on how to beat us.
11. It''s not one game, how many have we won in the last 20?
12.

No Wes before 70 mins even the game was crying for his creativity once Hull were down to 10 men, etc.
are you serious???? Wes came on and was utter plop! we lost our shape and all of our attacking intent once he came on... think''s he''s Pele!
What attacking intent?
13. Well, if you narrowed that search down to 17 games, where we were the worst team in the league bar QPR, we were the worst team in the league. 17 games playing badly is a long time in the premier league and not many managers have that luxury. We we’re shit for a long period of time, admit it, it’s not a crime, nor a reflection on how far we’ve come since that period.
14. No, I don''t see the negatives listed there and I also can''t see the relevance of taking the season in divided parts. (Before Christmas / after Christmas etc.) The league table doesn''t lie. We finished 11th and won 44 points from our 38 games. Does it really matter what month we won those points or what teams we won them from? Personally Nutty, yes it does. A hypothetical question for you, if we won our next 13 games (earning us a respectable league position). But then lost the rest 5-0 and avoided relegation, would you want the manager to be here for the start of the next season? I don’t think you can say that form isn’t an important factor in football, regardless of what position you finish. That said I think we’ve made some very astute signings and he’s earned the right to lead us into this season. I still think we sit too deep, especially at home, but hey ho, just an opinion and this is a message board…….
15. A lot of key players missing, very happy with the point but we were lucky to get it. Possession wise nearly 70% 30% in Everton’s favour and they had 20 shots, 7 on target. We had two shots on target, both went in, so those saying it was a fair result are probably being a tad bit biased.
16.

90% of the time the player going in hard isn’t the one to get injured.
Really? Paul Gascoigne might disagree... Gary Charles in 1991
I’m no mathematician, but he probably fits into that 10% column.
17. 90% of the time the player going in hard isn’t the one to get injured.
18. Would be a good signing. Would predominantly be used in the hole. Good on the ball and a bit more robust than Hoolahan and also has a better scoring record and can also play as a lone striker. He’s an international who ticks a lot of boxes and wouldn’t cost much.
19. Great result considering the quality of the opposition.
20. For those of you lucky enough to be at the match, a little bit of commentary would go a long way, who''s playing well, shape etc, where are all those budding Des Lynam''s!
21. Not heard of Iraqgoals, worth a look. Thanks for sharing
22. But they all when defending pressurise high up the pitch though, don''t they? Also I watched Dortmund play Bayern recently and both tried to win the ball back as high as possible the majority of the time and I certainly didn''t see many long balls, both play with 3 in the middle and like to retain possession.
