1.
Yes, looks like it-just tried to log on, looks like Ben is having a "purge" of all teh old messages and starting again, which he has done before. Site doesn''t recognise user names either, maybe everyone will need to re-register as well.
Dunno about that, although that might be the end result - I''d guess that the DB got corrupted
2. Looks like it. Site is actually back up, but there appears to be no data ...
3. Not sure I miss Wrath *that* much; but if this is the alternative - get it back as soon as possible! I want to talk bollocks about all sorts of stuff - especially not football after today. According to NCFC4Life on the myspace group (see above somewhere), it''s back in read only form; but I can''t get to it ...
4. Arganth? Is that really you getting off the fence? I find this board horrendously difficult to read - Ben''s got the format about right on Wrath I reckon. See you in the chat room ...
5.
Ben had ordered server space of 123 hosting who haven''t delivered and he has now cancelled. He has reordered with someone else (''rackspace'' I think) and he is just sorting out the details.Don''t think it will be much longer
Tut tut - you''ve ripped that off from Brommy. However, it seems that the Wrath may be back soon (note: I always quote my sources): http://forum.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=messageboard.viewThread&entryID=29614363&groupID=104813911&adTopicID=26&Mytoken=336D160A-EF38-43C5-AEF894A36646FD5717005497
6.
I know they CAN shut it down! The point is, under what pretext? Advocating death and destruction? Organised violence? Complete anarchy? An extreme right wing take over of the UK and all her dependencies? Or because they don''t like people publicly criticising the club or the players?
I meant the original poster (Canary Wharf Factor 9) was joking. Silly that one cannot read this thread in reply order.
7.
I''m sure that the "authorities" can''t just close it down
I assume the poster was joking.
8. According to conker, Ben''s searching for a new host:http://forum.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=messageboard.viewThread&entryID=29611804&groupID=104813911&adTopicID=26&Mytoken=B1188A12-F8EE-4454-853D1BAB017815FC7234237
9.
Nor will Old Git with his usually abusive tirade directed towards my good person.[;)]
Never quite understood what happened that day - he certainly went off on one! The nurse must have got his dosage wrong ... But both of you seem like nice chaps and are both good posters, so can''t you patch up your differences in time honoured fashion: pistols at dawn? Or if that''s too likely to result in serious injury then how about a good old fashioned punch-up behind the King''s? Can''t stand all this waiting around for post approval - no wonder no-one posts here ...
10. There is no way I''m joing myspace. Paging Ben Graves ... Paging Ben Graves ...
11. What the hell is Beb? Can somone start a petition to get Ben out of his pit and fix the damn thing? Or at least tell us what''s going on. The registration is valid until Dec 2007, but emails to webmaster@wrathofthebarclay.co.uk bounce. Oh, and can we swear like the proverbial on here? If not then my posts will lose all impact. Suppose at least it means that SCC wont be able to post ...
12. The Wrath appears to have been down for a couple of days. Anyone any idea what''s going on? Someone had better get it up and running soon, otherwise we''ll all be on here. And no-one wants that.
13. I was brought up in Lincoln (although born in Norwich) & saw them quite a lot as a kid when they romped the old 4th division with Graham Taylor as manager. When I lived in Walthamstow, London, I''d occasionally go to see Leyton Orient (every Londoner''s second team they say). Also have a soft spot for Forest and hope they do well next season. And, of course, any team playing Ipswich or Manure.
14. I thought it was a 2-1 win over Burnley or Crystal Palace & having looked it up at http://www.norwichcity-mad.co.uk/, I see it was against Palace on 24 April ''73 season (our first ever in the old 1st division). I would have been 9 & my Uncle Richard took me and I distinctly remember Dave Stringer rising above everyone else to score a very late winner. I also remember the crush coming out of Carrow Rd & walking over the river bridge. Needless to say, I''ve been a fan ever since, although we lived in Lincoln at the time & I''ve never actually lived in Norwich apart from my first couple of years in Costessey. Other early games I remember are 2-2 against West Ham; a game against Burnley & one against Orient that I forget the scores of, and a 3-2 home defeat by, I think, Hull or York - they scored straight from the kick off and then again from our kick off - 2-0 after a couple of minutes! I''m pretty sure it was the same day that L''Escargot won the Grand National as I won the family sweepstake my Grandmother used to run. I remember the old wooden main stand and everyone stamping their feet after a good move. Used to make a hell of a sound - at least to my young ears. I remember Martin Peters playing, but don''t remember the game (maybe the 2-3 loss above). I''m not sure of my first away game, but I used to go to more away games when I was a student & then working in London than home games! On The Ball City!
