  1. aah right, thankyou. speaking for my own mob. they used to put them on e-bay, but found that they raised more for charity if they were sold at `sportsmen`s dinners` and the like.
  2. my oh my!! some of the comments addressed at the team i support!. you`d almost think you lot were playing manchester city in the very near future... :)
  3. as a neutral, what was the shirt sponsorship thing about?. watching motd it took me a minute to realise what was different about your shirts. are they a charity or something?. and why at the arsenal game?.
  4. which just goes to show why all the top clubs tried to sign him in the summer... oh no, wait... ;)
  5. despite the club i love becoming the richest on the planet, unforunately, the money hasn`t reached the fans yet. and as manchester has some seriously frightening areas, there is quite an element of thugs follow both manchester clubs. only about a mile or so from the ground there are areas that are amongst the poorest and most violent in britain. harpurhey, collyhurst, blackley, miles platting etc. so it`s no surprise that some of the local residents aren`t always the most welcoming to away fans. as for the ticket colour, who cares, you`ll see enough light blue once you`re there!!
  6. the stands at city are quite `steep` so you won`t be too far away from the pitch. it`s how the ground was designed.
  7. " if the Mega bucks clubs bugger off, we can then play Propper down to earth football, without the megga bucks players" i know what you are saying, but two points, firstly the `genie is out of the bottle ` now. you can`t turn back the clock, it has always happened, just look back to the days of jack walker at blackburn, and secondly, if the top 5-6 did leave, the league wouldn`t be any fairer, money would then be drawn to the likes of everton or another club seen as a good prospect for investment. then what do you do?, kick them out of the league?!, you would have to ban any outside money going into the club at all. which would also knock norwich out, as delia kept you running for a couple of years i believe i`m right in saying?. where would you draw the line?.
  8. speaking as a manchester city fan, they can stick a `european super league` where the sun doesn`t shine. even as things stand i don`t really have much interest in the champions league. the games we`ve had so far have meant nothing much to me. i have no interest in bayern munich, napoli or villareal. i want to see us play against teams i know, local rivals . the `champs` league should go back to being for the champions of a country, not down to 3rd or 4th place, and be a straight knockout.
  9. 2 or 3-1 to arsenal. RVP will inevitably get 2 of them.
  10. you`re welcome, no problem. hope you enjoy the game. but not too much!! ;)
  11. righty-ho!!. i wasn`t implying that you or your group are simple btw!!. i just thought i`d tell you or whoever walks, to have their wits about them. there`s been quite a few cases of groups, (usually smaller groups than yours tbf) being `bushwacked` away from the ground. tends to happen nearer the piccadilly end . so tell them to keep their heads down , usual rules, no `colours` etc. i wouldn`t want anyone to run into any of manchester`s less savoury elements.
  12. ok, you lot walked it before or do you have a `local guide`?!
  13. how are you lot getting to piccadilly after the game ?.
  14. i`d like to know how any norwich fans have tickets in any of the home stands. unless they have someone in the family with a membership card. city are very tight on being a member to get a ticket. even on "open sale", no membership=no ticket. and these tickets, like most up there won`t have got anywhere near being on open sale.
  15. "If Rooney isn''t world class, then thats a label that belongs to about 5 or 6 other current players at the most." that`s actually quite possible. there are times when world football is `blessed` with a great number of outstanding talents, but conversely there must also be times when the cupboard is, if not bare, then certainly less full. i just think he`s dramatically over rated. if he wasn`t english he`d be a `good` player, nothing more. we`ll have to agree to disagree on this one.
  16. zidane knew that was his last game. rooney is just a child in a man`s body. he doesn`t have a tenth of the talent that zidane had. do you really believe he`s world class?... seriously?, based on what exactly?. stop believing what the tabloids tell you. use your eyes and your own judgement.
  17. rooney did have the potential to be world class, but he didn`t fulfill it. he isn`t `world class ` on so many levels, not only his goalscoring record at major tournaments, but also his petulance. a true world class player doesn`t get himself sent off, and leave his team-mates up against it, or get himself banned as often as he does. england doesn`t have a single player who i would call `world class` right now. and as for the "ask messi etc" if rooney`s world class, it`s like whenever pele is asked if the football team of whichever country he being interviewed in, can win the next world cup/european championship, he always says "yes"!. what else are they going to say?!
  18. your run-in to the end of the season is pretty hideous as well isn`t it?, iirc.
  19. as a matter of interest, our next game is against the other club still unbeaten, newcastle. should be entertaining.
  20. the arrogance thing is a fair point, but as gingerpele points out, it`s the fans who will propagate that, not the players. we do a thing called tunnel cam before during and after each game, on the official website which shows the players arriving, build up etc. vincent kompany isn`t taking anything for granted i can assure you!! :) the lack of clean sheets is concerning mancini and he has said as much, but as things stand we`re scoring just under 4 goals a game on average, both home and away, and have scored more goals than any side since some time in the 1880`s, so we`re doing something right. the old joe royle maxim when at oldham, "doesn`t matter how many you score as long as we get one more." and aguero has just had a twinge, which means he`ll sit out both games more than likely.in other words, he`s got a two week rest period!, which gets a thumbs up from me!. i`m not travelling up for the norwich game, but am looking forward to our visit to carrow road in april.
  21. i really do think that at some stage this season, we (manchester city) are going to hand someone a really severe a**e kicking, double figures. i don`t think it`ll be norwich or any of the teams around you, it`ll be someone like i already mentioned earlier, who comes to the etihad and fancies their chances of `outplaying` us, for the wont of a better term. that said, if the united game had gone on for another 10 minutes i think it may well have been them on the receiving end!. i`m not going to `name names` but i have a couple likely suspects in mind!.
  22. even as a supporter ofMCFC i don`t expect you to lose 6/7/8-0. it`s interesting that the two teams we`ve really mullered this season are two of the `better` sides in the prem, spurs 1-5 and united 1-6. they were two teams, both at home, who both tried to "have a go" at us. most of the other teams we`ve played have tried to park the bus and hit us on the break. it`s against these so-called lesser sides that we`ve found ourselves with more of a game on our hands.with the exception of fulham away we`ve seen all of them off eventually though. i don`t know how norwich and paul lambert will approach the game in a couple of weeks, but it won`t be anything like the score some on here foresee!. oh and that game is already a sell out for home fans.
  23. for what it`s worth, here are my totally objective predictions on the upcoming games you have... Arsenal(h) - l QPR(h) - d Man City(a) - l Newcastle(h) - d Everton(a) - l Wolves(a) - w Tottenham(h) - l Fulham(h) - d i make that 6 points. the only one i struggled with was the QPR game. they seem to blow hot and cold, so it`ll depend which rangers side turns up. only my opinion! feel free to shoot me down!! :)
  24. that is always a worry. we nearly always seem to lose somebody on international duty to injury. and i wouldn`t want him injured for your visit... ;)
  25. " Our press and especially the tabloids are always tellings us about world class English players. " this has been a pet hate of mine for years. the self delusion and smugnees in the media, that insists an english player would get anywhere near a `world11` or squad of 16 or however many. the oft quoted names, lampard, gerrard, rooney etc are no more than slightly above average at best. world class?, nowhere near. as for the spanish squad, i want `merlin`(david silva) to start, for purely selfish reasons!!.
